There's actually a lot of amazing stuff the Zibo has considering its been in constant development and updated since the release of X Plane 11. The more you fly it, the more you will enjoy it. Especially the ground effect and "settling" just prior to touchdown as well as default airports that don't look like minecraft. (MSFS KIAH) and runways that don't have mapping glitches like a 20 ft drop off on a taxiway like MSFS KDFW.
Lol. You are so correct. DFW is my home airport and IAH was my pilot base for many years. I did take the ATR off the cliff at DFW and sadly there were no survivors (I can't get my money back). The XP12 airports are consistently more like their real life counterparts than MFS, which is WAY off. XP12 usually depicts other airliners at the gates that are closer to correct. Of course, the MFS is quite beautiful apart from that.
Youre correct about that ground effect !!! Im waiting someone to say this! by the way did you feel the aircraft is less ground effect ( more sinkable) in xp12 than xp11?
@@DrayAviation it's the biggest difference i noticed from 11 to 12, if you dont have the energy to fly it'll just land firmly onto the runway. The spoilers on the ground are also more reactive and effective when landing :)
@@paulwilson8367 I still hope MS will correct all the shortcomings because I WANT to jump full time to MSFS/PMDG, but due to their current limitations and frustrations, I can't fully switch yet. Maybe MS will pull their heads out of their xxxxx and FS2024 will not have the stupid clearly obvious terrain issues the MSFS 2020 has.
@@paulwilson8367 IAH is my home airport as well. Must be one of the worst default airports in MSFS. 3 story gingerbread house. Looks nothing like IAH.
people need to understand that xplane is more like a training sim whereas msfs is for casual flying. its like pilots would go to d level sim and said that they cannot fly it as its graphics is immersion killer. both are great, both are on my disk - love to fly pmdg and zibo for different reasons. thank you for xplane presence on your yt channel.
and dont forget to update xplane to 12.06 clouds are way better and still are going to be tweaked (not sure if you updated).
true
Well said. I also enjoy flying both for different reasons. It is obvious MSFS caters to the casual gaming community because they own XBOX and they are aiming for a wider market with less in depth systems in the default aircraft. Many people don't realize this. I doubt MSFS will ever seek FAA approval for their sim to be used with certified training equipment because that is not the user base they are targeting.
@@Sim737Pilot thats incorrect. Jorg neumann always repeats and repeats, this is meant to be a full simulator. One can be excited what msfs 2024 has in store...we'll see
@@peter-mv5gk we sure will. I have not seen MFS as a pilot sim. Not with the A/P off. Yes, they could fix it and I hope they do. But when I see the comments of casual MFS users, they often have race car icons. It's definitely the gamer community there.
@@Sim737Pilotto be fair, I don't remember any version of the sim that had in depth default aircraft.
I believe that the TOGA click spot on the Zibo is the Mic button on the glareshield.
Thanks, I'll check that out!
Your knowledge and experience in flying the real bird is so evident in something like this, with a failure mode scenario, that makes it just an awesome thing to watch!
I learned so much from all your videos, but this one was something special. So glad to see you getting into the Zibo, it's just a wonderful and immersive add-on. We're all blessed to have both X-Plane & MSFS as they are incredible products that bring us such realism & joy!
It's going to be interesting to see how rusty you get in 737 procedures after a few years of flying Airbus in real life. ;)
that shall be a series.. XD
I started doing V1 cuts in the Zibo a couple of years ago. It was darned heroic for you to fly AND read those checklists, that's ace. But even if you don't dive into that SE checklist, you can get the cut, rotate and get the airplane up and around the pattern and back on the ground without even doing all that stuff.
Zibo is simply the pilot's sim at the moment. Is it perfect? No, of course not. But I wish I had had the Zibo to do about 15 V1 cuts the month of my annual sim sessions. Going into those cold after a year, or after nine months, or even 6 months, was pretty tough. Single engine work is a matter of practice. Zibo would have definitely helped. Of course in the "real sim", your SE approach would have reached minimums with no runway in sight and you would do the SE GA to a visual SE approach. UGH!
I don't know of any other 73 pilots demonstrating video V1 cuts, so I think this is pretty cool and my hat is off.
Of course most MFS people would rather have some rescue missions showing really detailed rocks, but I will take this kind of adventure, thank you.
I will continue to have fun in MFS and I think PMDG did a very nice job on their 737. It just doesn't handle as well as the Zibo does, and is not as real to life.
For me as a free aircraft it is truly amazing and would easily pay for it
I would gladly pay $100 for the Zibo based on everything it has. PMDG is $70 and doesn't have nearly as complete systems or a EFB, or working wipers, or cabin announcements, or a security camera, ect. like Zibo has.
just tried, and, I've took some time to fix the failure and cockpit started to get covered by smoke, so nice
By the way, the TOGA clickspot is actually the MIC button on the glareshield
Could you do one of these types of videos with the 787? Love the videos keep up the great work!!!
Hi, the 787 doen't feature failure scenarios I'm afriad. It doesn't even have the non normal parts of the ECL enabled so anything I could do with it would be really far from how things would be handelled in real life.
If you have failure (severe damage) on ENG #1 and you didn’t start APU, A/P -A can’t be used due to GEN 1 failure in that particular moment
That's a bug though, AP1 should disengage when the power transfer happens, but GEN2 takes over and powers the left transfer bus almost instantly. You should be able to reengage the AP as soon as the transfer bus is powered again.
Thank you as always
A very interesting and informative video, thank you. Looking forward to further videos from you.
Thanks for watching!
This reminds me how good X-Plane platform was. I spent a lot of $$$ on add-ons, and still unmistakeably impressed by how realistic the sound effects was. There is no beating ToLiss + BSS soundpack combo, and here dare I say. Other than ground roll & rattle noises, Zibo sounds better than PMDG overall.
What makes you think the zibo sounds overall better than PMDG? Any particular aspects?
KSOP sounds pack just beats the BSS sounds pack, it's new and 20 bucks while offering multiple engine sounds as far as I know, I'd say give it a try now that 12.06 beta 1 is out with new sky visuals.
You're really selling X-Plane to me good Sir! Fantastic handling! Cheers from Iceland!
Watch a couple FlightDeck2Sim videos flying the Zibo in XPlane. Its pretty good, and having a fully featured EFB makes it difficult to want to fly MSFS as much.
@@Sim737Pilot The XP videos from FlightDeck2Sim are excellent, I'm a huge fan of his channel. They really got me interested in XP. So I'm really glad Emi has started to explore the sim as well.
@@m3taleye Absolutely agreed. I'm such a fan of the A340, which I don't foresee coming to MSFS anytime soon, plus the B757 Professional package offered for XP is really exciting so just for those two I'm definitely going to explore XP myself.
@@Sim737Pilotnice propaganda lol
It seems like the autopilot behaviour was better here than in your full flight video, zibo definetely overcorrects the wind if it is present. Yaw control was indeed impressive. It appears that the PAPI/GS is not MSFS's problem only and the same applies to xplane. As for the visuals, the simulatiors are in different leagues and personally, xplane spoils my immersion a lot with their's. Although the zibo is great, I can really see why the price of PMDG is what it is after a couple of your videos comparing the two.
About the PAPI, that will be the responsibility of the scenery creator/artist. If they put it in the wrong place when making the scenery, for sure it will be way off compared to the ILS. Me myself have found a lot scenery in xplane where the papi is placed too far from the aiming point, hence offset is expected when flying the ils approach onto that runway.
MFS is obviously more beautiful. But you surely observe that they far overestimate the in flight visibility in MFS. The real atmosphere is typically quite hazy. Nevertheless, I would agree as far as XP12 needing to improve their scenery. Zibo is however the pilot's sim.
Nice, well done.
Great video! Your content is really top notch!
Good to see you're getting into XP! It's suche a great platform! And it has so much potential! You're just scratching the surface right now! Once, you start adding things like Ortho4XP, XEurope (both donationware!) and ActiveSky XP, you'll find yourself in a very capable, super realistic looking sim. It just takes a little time and some work. But it's totally worth it! I'm really looking forward to more XP content on your great channel!
Yeah, needing to add all of those things is part of the problem
@@tubeloobs There's no need to install these things. The sim will work perfectly in a vanilla state.
@@schmeichel75 and look perfectly last gen
NIce Video!
Thanx for great video. I only noticed the left eng.start switch was set to continuos by landg .any reason for that?
No. You don't need any continuous ignition on a failed engine that you are not inclined to restart.
I think its fair to say that you are in love with x plane
He likes both sims of course. He likes Zibo because he's an actual 737 pilot who knows how the real airplane handles with the A/P off. Zibo has more dynamic, smoother control response. Still not perfect.
If you REALLY like airplanes, you should fly both sims. To some extent, each has things that the other presently lacks. I think that's a fair statement.
Bro bring back msfs! There’s already fd2sim for xplane
I'm doing both, but there's simply nothing "interesting" happening in the MSFS world these days. It's never wrong to try out "the other side", is it?
@@A330Driver I get ya, if your doing that then, will you check out P3d ? There’s fslabs which is the most comprehensive Airbus simulation for any flight sim. There’s also aerosoft 330 there which has got many updates. It’s very expensive but once you invested in it you will never let it go
Anyone else feel like they’re getting cheated on by Emi? We need our MSFS Emi and not XP lol. 😊😊😊
flying both sims is better than nothing for covering what's there and what's not there
Jeff, open your mind, there is a whole world out there. A simulator is not a wife to cheat on😂
@@SimAviator SimAviator, it was a joke. Find a sense of humor, please.
@@hakanr339b is it tho? XP is just soooo Atari looking
