And once again you donate that really gorgeous, devine voice - that grew silent much too early - to the all of us. His truly gifted singing was so simply stunning effortlessly powerful, expressive and crystal-clear. I really enjoy listening to the records of this amazing (originally basso-) -bariton-voice whenever I get the chance to do so. Thank you so much for this precious treasure.
How I wish I was able to hear him in the flesh! I have been fortunate to hear Bruson and Cappucilli and then no one memorable until recently Tezier and Enkhbat but they must all yield to the great Bastianini
- Hvorostovsky
In the context of the admittedly not easily to unentangle Trovatore it’s definitely NOT a boring scene and aria and this performance is absolutely outstanding and not only in the roaring parts but at least as much in the effortlessly attained absolute melodiously presented higher notes‘ parts
@@dankurth4232 He's an asbolutely brilliant singer. But this aria has always felt cookie cutter and bland compared to the rest of il Trovatore to me, or say the baritone writing in Rigoletto. It feels like earlier Verdi, whereas the scenes with Azucena and Leonora sound fully mature in terms of detailed characterisation. YMMV as they say!
A great artist and beautiful man Ettore Bastianini....
That whole Trovatore soundtrack recording is amazing.
Del Monaco Gencer Bastianini Barbieri
One of the greatest voices of all time. I wish more people were expose to it. Superb singing…
Phenomenal singing... reminds me of early Callas, early Corelli
UN BARITONO CON UNA VOCE CRISTALLINA E SQUILLANTE DI RARA BELLEZZA,!!
La morbidezza del canto verdiano ! ! Abolutely beautiful 😍😍😍
What a man what a voice
Hvorostovsky said in an interview that he listened to Bastianini recordings to study his techniques.

Such a marvelous voice! So strong, yet even and smooth❤ Thank you, Lohengrin, for the gem!
An inspiration for all singers
As you say, all real verdian baritones hace the power and nobility of roaring lions. Bastianini es one of the greatest examples.
another who has that kind of cord power?
@@LohengrinO Maybe Giorgio Zancanaro. But Bastianini is king
Grazie Theo❤La voce morbida e possente di Bastianini è inconfondibile
Impresionante!
