- Turkey is moving to revoke the citizenship of its nationals who served in the IDF during the Gaza conflict. The proposed bill aims to strip citizenship and seize assets of individuals involved in what Turkish media described as war crimes in Gaza. This controversial move, supported by the Turkish Islamist party, intends to enforce the return of these individuals to Turkey within three months; failure to comply will result in citizenship revocation and asset seizure.

I think the real value in this is not the number of Turkish nationals this targets, but the concept once used can more easily spread.
Direct sanctioning of "others" would go against current BRICS moral leverage with the West (coincidentally the same forces behind Gaza) , but to cut off your own (even with dual nationality or residency) is more palatable. Turkey has enough trouble with the lira.
IF... a coalition of States followed the same, it would THEN put direct support on the IDF , however through a civilian pressure apparatus, actually quite powerful. Flip the coin. Look at the effect even the smaller parties of the Haredi are having?

Read about how Turkish defence industry was built ground up. Iran and Turkiye became the only Muslim countries to have modern arms industry, all in the last 20 years.
You can't just win this with boycotts. You need to build that backbone industry as well. That was made possible in Turkiye by maintaining European and NATO relationships

In Singapore if such a thing happened, the illegal combatant would be imprisoned without trial without fixed term of imprisonment under ISA.

The problem is that it's all over the world. Dual citizenships (or more) Israelis living in another country and serving/fighting for Israel, comitting UNSPEAKABLE attrocities, allow to come back to the host country unpunished and unchecked.
You can compare that to dual citizenship holders of ISIS fighters going abroad and coming back except ALL OF THEM were arrested and jailed, or flat out rejected entry back.
