So many things go back and forth between mezzos and sopranos anymore that, truthfully, I don't really think it matters all that much. If a mezzo and a soprano were up for this part, and the soprano sang it better, why shouldn't she get it? The tessitura is higher as well. Brava. Beautiful rendition and well acted. I stumbled upn this video listning to songs to have ready for my junior quals next semester and being a mezzo in training, I would say that if she wants to sing mezzo and it doesn't hurt her voice then go for it. It's light for a mezzo voice true, she could for sure be a Dorabella in Cosi Fan Tutte, her acting and voice are wonderful though, so I would say for from ridiculous or shameless. Don't knock the artist for trying something new, we all need to be supportive =)

Burggraaf is quite brilliant in the "trouser roles" - she gave truly mesmerising performances as Hänsel and Cherubino for Welsh National Opera.
I love the acting- it's great how she take every possible opportunity to use the sword - sort of like if you gave a 13 year old boy a real sword.

she's SO low at the end... anyway too light for my taste, even if in lots of editions of the score, Stephano is presented as a soprano role...
