This soulless sucker that just happened to be born in a body with quite a bit of stamina be it without legs, just goes to show you how unfair 'justice' is. OF COURSE South Africa could not TRULY convict one of their national heroes, even though it was one only known for developing some speed, to spend an exceedingly long period of time in jail - like life, or whatever comes closest to life under their own laws' maximum (and appropriate) sentencing. After all, S.A. does not HAVE a lot of super stars that are renowned the whole world over... I normally an not such a vindictive person, and usually always tend to first of all try to understand what's behind things like this what went on in a perpetrator's mind, what the psychology and circumstances were, what lead to faithful decisions (or rather, acts). But in this case, this dude with his enormous ego, his feelings of pity that merely involve himself (how je cries for himself in court, in front of the judge), his uncaring coldness, the ugliness of the way he fought with the girl who later became his victim, ... it nearly makes my blood boil.
She was just too good for him. He heard her scream after the 1st shot, and fired several more times. He is no hero, he is a murderer. He was controlling and thought his disability would save him from responsibility. RIP beautiful Reva!!!!
Whenever mentally unstable men lose or are about to lose a woman far too good for them, it leads to these narcissistic men losing the little rational thinking they had and they grew even more insane leading to some heinous acts
@Victor Swart probably nothing. Been shooting since before I could ride a bike, worked at a gun range, and taught handgun lessons. I doubt I'm qualified to have an opinion.
Have you ever been in a dark house? Have you been robbed before? Were you there? This has actually happened before many times. If you cant see ,and you have no legs, it is very possible you shoot at someone you think is an intruder.
@@Thekoryosmenstribepodcast That's why you don't shoot first and ask questions later. If you don't know who you're shooting at, you damn well better not be shooting a gun.
yes,i mean come on if you live with other people in your house and hear a noise in the bathroom in the middle of the night...its probably one of them..right??..surely ..
"You never pull a trigger at something unseen." How do you know if you have never been placed in that position?

his story is not farfetched at all, burglars surprising you in your bedroom happens quite often actually, them running into the bathroom is not unheard of either. Shoot first ask questions later is also a given but whether I believe it, is another matter. Literally the only reason I didn't believe it is the story that she was two timing him with a rugby player, that was the word on the street and he found out and shot her. The end and now he is out on parole.
He should've gotten life sentence. First thing a person would do if you reckon there's a burglar in the house is wake your partner or at least check if she is beside you in the bed and she is not the one making the noise in the house. He is a narcissist and a killer whose jealousy and insecurity got the better of him.
That was the first thing I said! She is beautiful and he knows very well she can easily leave him and get someone else. He was insecure, controlling, and jealous. She likely feared for her life and ran to the bathroom to protect herself. He followed her and purposely killed her. His sentencing by this judge was just ridiculous. She must be a fan.
Exactly! First thing you wake up your partner who is laying next to you. She wanted to leave him and I guess that evening/night was when she told him it’s over. He got violent, she looked herself in the bathroom and he then murdered her.
@@SN-bl6xm I agree, that this was also the first thing which I thought, that you would alert your sleeping partner of any potential danger, before checking for a possible intruder! I believe that they had a fight which got out of hand, and he shot her in jealous rage. Also, why did he carry her downstairs if she was already dead? I think that his previous girlfriend, had a very lucky escape, from this controlling monster.
Can't believe a judge is allowed to dismiss evidence just like that. Did she get paid or something? Dismissing neighbors' testimonies and the victim's text messages. Seriously. RIP sweet girl.
Insane right😬. It was how she said it tho, making the neighbors, more than one neighbor, who heard the same thing, out to be crazy liars or something. Idk
She seems corrupt and career driven. The victim is not here anymore to speak up for herself, so she knew she has nothing to lose and chose to save the man that had killed the young woman. She helped the one who had more power. The perpetrator.
I came home from work one night and thought my roommate was in the shower. But it was really an intruder who had heard me come home, ran to the bathroom, locked the door and turned on the shower. He got stuck trying to go out the window.
This is sometimes the presentation of a burglar on drugs. If on the street, they haven’t had access to a private bathroom for months. Pistorius was not just prone to narcissism after his accomplishments. With his partners, he was a man without feet. What physical circumstance could make him more prone to jealousy?
I remember when an abusive ex boyfriend said to me "If I can't have you, nobody else will" I get the same vibes from Oscar, he definitely killed her in cold blood! Rest in Peace Sweet Angel ❤
I don’t care how in love with him you are. Ladies, when an ex girlfriend tells you that the man is dangerous and crazy, 1 time out of 10, she’s bitter and therefore lying. 9 times out of 10, she is telling you the TRUTH and you should LISTEN to her and IMMEDIATELY break off the relationship with a well thought through safety plan already in place.
Yeah, she knew she was being abused and indicated that in her text message... He wanted to punish her. That's how abusers act and think. They must destroy their partner to protect their own ego, even if that means raping or killing her!
As soon as the first shot went off she screamed out, he heard her voice screaming. 4 shots at a female voice, you'd stop at one. He would have pulled the trigger 4 times.
And the gun was under the side of the bed where Reeva was sleeping. Pick a gun from under her side of the bed and you didn't think that she wasn't in bed... That's what happens when you are highly privileged ...
If you are in a house with others, it would be advisable to call out before firing. That’s called being responsible. His behaviour was irresponsible and not only Reeve but her unborn child were killed. By him.
@@wonderer9498 yeah, right...a lot of women break into houses to use the loo!! C'mon, you are just being oppositional...you know well and good that far less women break into houses, much less be cat burglars at high-tech security homes. I was trying to get statistics to back it up, but female burglars are so moot, they aren't even listed. But men commit 80% more murders and violent crimes, women are more likely to be the recipient, not the perpetrator. And I don't know of any women that break in to use the bathroom!!
So your girlfriends not in the bed next to you and you hear a noise in the bathroom and you automatically think it's an intruder? Not buying it, you would at least check to see if it was her before shooting...
He knew who was on the otherside of the door. He was angry that Reeva was not doing what he told her to do. He murdered Reeva because he felt entitled to end her life. He felt justified in murdering her. If a woman dares to take control of her own life and leave a toxic relationship, the man who murders her is the victim. Disgusting!
Exactly This is whats happening in every level of domestic abuse by men. It is sooo scary that actually you can never be sure who might be a murderer cos it is all about “that women cannot win and take my power, I have to stop her from doing what she wants”….
@MS E I remember watching the trial and observing him (his reactions to what others shared and how he spoke of her and his own actions). The one thought that refused to leave my head was, ”this has the same components as domestic abuse that ended up being deadly”. Tragically death is eventually where many domestic abuse relationships will end up with sooner or later. The abuser ”needs” to get a rise out of what he/they’re doing, and what used to give them relief is not going to give them that anymore so they have to increase the violence, this being cranked up more and more will eventually often times lead to the woman either espacing or being killed. I can’t stand it when some people say ”he found the right partner because now he doesn’t abuse anymore”. As if a woman is at fault for being abused, and a man is simply the victim under her thumb even though he is the one abusing. Make that nonsense make sense! It’s such a tragic subject and how many react to it is part in keeping the issue being unresolved in society. Blaming women are not the solution!
Well said! It´s an obvious abusive pattern of behavior and I´m angry because the guy drops two tears and people forget who is the victim here and it´s not he
I had once felt bad for Oscar , but actually looking into it all, Oscar seemed to be angry, entitled, and probably felt no one could touch him. My heart goes out to Reeva and her family 😢💐
Yeah, I don't think his profession suddenly turned him into a narcissist or an abuser. He was like that before he became a celebrity, people just didn't know until he killed his partner. You've either always been like that and got used to getting away with it, or you never abused or harmed people in the first place. I don't think it was because he was a celebrity. There are very kind and decent people who are also celebrities and who never harm anyone. It was his personality and a matter of time when he will do something like this! It was inevitable.
His doctor said on the video when he visited Oscar's home, Oscar was adamant about turning on the alarms. So wouldn't an intruder trigger the alarms? Of course he would! What happened to the alarms? This was definitely premeditated. This man is a monster!
Oscar said he saw the bathroom window open & thought the burglar came through & went into the toilet room when he heard Oscar coming. Said his windows wouldnt trip the alarm, which is insane...... that was his explanation during trial.
No, he's not. You don't live in South Africa, you don't know how BAD the crime is here. You don't know that our police are useless, you can call them all you like when you need them, they don't have enough vehicles to come and help. Everyone knows that, so criminals aren't worried abt the police and does what they want.
I can’t believe she’s a judge. Listening to her dismiss witness testimony and evidence was sickening. I hate that they tried to paint him as a victim of his disability when his whole life was that he was exactly the opposite. His legacy was that he was not crippled by his disability. But now he’s afraid and disabled??? Didn’t he have an alarm?? Would he not have checked his bed first???
exactly, he's an olympian for god's sake! and they dare to say "oh he's just a poor wittle victim who can't be held accountable." disgusting. as someone's who's disabled, it feels incredibly infantilising too.
I had a friend I got closer to while he was in hospital having a leg amputated. He has done fantastically well - married, kids, loves snowboarding, skiing - where we differ is his amputation entitles him to a disabled blue badge (UK) allowing him to park almost outside shops and malls, despite his athletic abilities. I now have medical issues and require either crutches or dual walking sticks but until I am officially diagnosed with something I am not entitled to similar. To be fair friend doesn't use his disabled badge cos he doesn't need it. But point here is, similar to my friend, OP is more able than most people!
Talking about " witness testimony ", a thought just crossed my mind : his ex girlfriend, Samantha Taylor. She put everything, I mean, every truth was set on table in a way that explain itself why Reeva Steenkamp was murdered by mr. Pistorius. She is a surviver, and I don't think that judge treated her like It must have been deserved. Although Samantha Taylor's testimony had been a key case, a witness surviver's answer, she was neglected by the judge. I was just quite disapointted, heartbreaking to hear that.
She was so beautiful and so much left to live for. He killed her deliberately because he knew she was going to leave him. He was controlling her and she was frightened of him.
The biggest overlooked evidence was from the autopsy of Reeva's stomach which had undigested food. And the text message she had recieved from her ex boyfriend shortly before her death on Valentine's day. It's obvious Oscar and Reeva were up all night having an intense arguement over the text message, Reeva threatened to leave him and she got scared and ran to the bathroom locking the door and he killed her in a jealous rage. Oscar lost his mom at a young age and his father abandoned him, so he has an intense fear of abandonment. Reeva's ex boyfriend is also a professional sportsman except he is ablebodied .. and for Oscar being disabled, one could imagine this is a deep insecurity for him, her ex is a threat to him and the text message from the ex on valentine's day was the match which lit the fire. Oscar couldn't handle that her attention might be elsewhere, someone from her past, eventhough it may have not been the case he couldn't separate real from imagined, his whole life he had been abandoned and was different to others, but now he thought the woman of his dreams was going to leave him, and worse for another sportsman who has normal legs. He probably felt deeply hurt, and maybe angry with her, that she was texting her ex on Valentine's day which was meant to be their special day, he felt threatened, he felt insecure about his disability, he felt a creeping feeling she was going to leave him, just like his parents left him. But not this time, he decided to take control of the situation, if he can't have her then no one else will, and the woman in his life won't leave him this time, he will just hold her lifeless body in his arms, crying as he feels a victim of the imagined intruder (from the text) who had entered their fairytale life and dug up all the deep and dark childhood insecurities.
The fact that the bathroom door was locked, leads me to believe that maybe they weren’t sleeping. And maybe they were up arguing about some thing and she went into the bathroom and locked herself in there to get away from him. Because if you think about it, nobody locks themselves in the bathroom when you wake up in the middle of the night to go pee. I mean, in all honesty, most of us don’t even shut the door when we’re going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. So I don’t know, I just feel like there’s more to the story. And his recollection of what happened, doesn’t quite add up for me. I just always try to put myself in the victims shoes, and try to see myself doing the same things they were doing. And I just never would lock myself in a bathroom unless there was somebody on the other side that I did not want getting in, especially if I was in the privacy of my own home, or my boyfriends home. Not to mention, if he truly called out to Reeva to call 911, before he shot, don’t you think he would’ve heard her answer from the bathroom?
Lol 😂 why would they call 911?...would take the police ages to get there from the USA 🤦♂️surely they'd call 112...the South African emergency number 🤷♂️😆😂
@carissa I actually was thinking along the line of this as well. They may have argued and she ran to the bathroom to hide and get away from him and he shot her through the bathroom door.
@@Outlawproductions582Garbage. The judiciary in South Africa is top notch. This judge was simply incompetent. She didn't understand the law well enough in this case. The Supreme Court of Appeals correctly overturned her judgement and said themselves that this judge didn't interpret the law correctly.
This man destroyed her life, crushed the lives of everyone that loved her, destroyed the lives of everybody who loved him and looked up to him……..such a shame. Such a damn shame.
I'm just glad that the teenager he was in a relationship with got away! Luckily, she got away from him... Him cheating on her saved her life! I hope she's now learned the red flags of an abusive relationship and will choose a healthy partner in future.
What happens in the dark will come out to the light no one can mock Jeh God and be blessed, they reap what they sowed in due time, domestic VICTIM here only alive because Jeh God and he was who did it all, lied all over the place, insecure toddler Man-Child...broke my back and almost my neck, hit me on the head for doing zero... talk about private things behind my back over and over..
it comes down to this for me, how much premeditation does one need? Months? Days? Seconds? If you grab a gun in anger, point it at a wall with someone behind it, and pull the trigger, that seems quite premeditated to me..
He murdered her full stop. It was with intent. How do you shoot through a door without asking who's inside? The first shot was in her hip. She would have screamed. As for Msipa . . She was absolutely incompetent to handle the truth and make an honest decision
The higher ups had the trial set up with a black female judge to disregard majority of the fact with far lesser charge for oacar. A white judge will be too obvious if oscar got away with a light sentence. A black female judge will easily be regarded as incompetent anyway so she took the fall for the corrupt judicial system. Its South Africa, the system is already rigged in favor of the white man, considering a rich upper class white male like Pistorius.
I never believed his story. Why would someone break into your house and go into the bathroom and close the door? He murdered that poor woman. He should spend the rest of his life in prison.
Sounds like you don’t know much about living in South Africa. Bathroom / toilet windows are very common entry point for criminals breaking in. I recall there was also evidence of some workers who left a ladder out the previous day when doing some work. It is very plausible that you could wake up in the night in South Africa, hear strange noises and panick expecting an intruder.
People need to stop worshipping celebrities. Whether it's sports athletes, actors, singers. Just because they are good/great at something, doesn't mean they are a good person, or an innocent person.
That ex girlfriend's interview is a massive RED flag. Women should NEVER put up with that kind of Abnormal Controlling Obsessive Behavior, and the guns? This Woman is lucky she is alive. His last gf wasn't so lucky 🥀
Fr I just want to give the woman I'm with the whole world and would never do anything to hurt her but I'm just cursed I guess and I'm not in a position to be in a relationship but it's definitely something I want most out of my life
I've had panic attacks and it isn't far fetched. It's literally why I did not have a firearm at my disposal. I was afraid I may accidentally hurt a family member
I don't know why they didn't tell us what his sentence was. He got 5 years, appealed and got another year added. He appealed again and the Supreme Court gave him 15 years.
This was aired in 2014.. I believe he didn’t get sentenced yet at the time this video was released . But yes he got 15 years total & just got rejected for parole a week ago or so .
@@calise7988probably stil denying it. Parole board doesn't like it if they continue to deny. I would love to know what the Corrections staff say about his behaviour in prison. It's often different from what they portray to everyone else. I've sat in on PB hearings and you wouldn't believe the crap that comes from the prisoner and his representatives.
What's not ever addressed or explained is where Oscar thinks Reeva was when he suspected an intruder? Wouldn't you first want to locate your girlfriend before going after an intruder?
Guilty. If you know your loved one is somewhere in the house, and you can’t put eyes on her, you don’t fire at something you can’t see. He’s a liar and a murderer.
Were they married? I dont think so. How often were they in the same bed and for how long? Bc youre post refers to a custom. As in, the person you love is near to you and living in the same house. If thats not the case, as you wake up, you may not realize you went to bed with that person. Or that this person is in the house. Or even exists.
There is no way, that he did not know who was behind that toilet door, which was locked by the way from the inside, so she was running from him. She must have schreamed for help and for him to stop, as he shot her again and again 😭💔my heart goes out to beautiful Reeva and her family
😩The look on 'Sam's face when she realized her mom did not have her back by opening her eyes to what an abusive and controlling relationship is😪. 🤧So sad.
Exactly! It doesn't make sense because he knew she wasn't sleeping next to him when he woke Up, and they showed the walk to the bathroom is quite a distance from their bedroom. Meaning he had to know she was in the bathroom or nearby the bathroom when he shouted to her to call the police. He knew it was her in the bathroom!
Your husband. Means you are married and that you probably sleep in the same bed every night. Hence, it is THE pattern. If you are not, it is not the pattern and it takes time to realize there was someone else in the bed.
there were four shots. at least after the first shot he knew who is in theToilette. they had an argument on Valentine's Day, she fled to Toilette, he murdered her.
I remember feeling so sad when this incident happened. Two beautiful people. An Olympic gold medal winner. A beautiful, young woman shot and killed. I remember thinking to myself, "How could this have happened?" It is just a sad story.
I remember that story like it was yesterday. I believe with all of me that he murdered her because he wanted her dead. She was stunning, successful, and smart. If she wanted to end things with him, he appears to be the type that won't accept a break up or rejection. Superstar or not. Inspirational or not. He is a murderer and should be treated as that. Too often, society makes excuses for celebrities who commit crimes rather than hold them accountable as they would be ordinary people.
Scary to think a judge alone can act as jury and expert in everything and blatantly disregard witnesses accounts and other evidence because it is “her view”..
The higher ups had the trial set up with a black female judge to disregard majority of the fact with far lesser charge for oacar. Even if they were in a heated argument that wouldn't be 1st degree premeditated. It would be 2nd degree. I don't understand why people who are afraid of home invasions don't just get dogs. A dog is far better than a gun. A dog will be alerted by the slightest noise from an intruder. I don't think there is evidence proving he intentionally shot her. I just think that his story is not believable. Why would someone shoot through a closed door at an intruder? Why wouldn't Reeva answer saying, "It's me!" Or the moment he left his bed, how did he not notice she wasn't in the bed? But I didn't follow the case closely. I would have found him guilty not based on the proof or witnesses but based on the how incredible his claims where.
He murdered her over and out. Nobody but nobody would get up from bed (with his girlfriend supposedly next to him) go to a huge bathroom that has a locked toilet cubicle, and start firing because they 'heard a noise'. Then he said he ran towards the balcony to shout for help but the evidence shown was a closed door with curtains drawn. Just so unfortunate that police messed up by contaminating a lot of evidence and just unfortunate that an incompetent judge presided
Never believed a word that came out of Pistorius mouth. I bet they argued and she threatened to leave him and that is when he got angry, afraid she ran from the room, he got his gun and went after her. she thought she would be safe in a locked bathroom. Beautiful lady who should never have gotten mixed up with him
The parents of Reeva are so right. When people finally start giving all the attention to the victims the narcissist will start realizing how little they actually mean! STOP GIVING THE WRONG PEOPLE 5 MINUTES OF FAME AND GLORY, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE DOING HORRENDOUS THINGS LIKE THIS!
This is so old, Oscar was found guilty and just last month his parole application was denied... Judge Masipa was such a disappointment to most or even all black women in SA.
I’m so relieved that the world is finally opening eyes to the reality behind “stories” such as this one. Personalities that cause harm, death and destruction. Next, we need a deeper look into how media, marketing, sports, celebrities, reality TV, corporate money, lobbying, politics and consumers of it all, etc. plays in and perpetuates this disgusting reality. To sum it up, when we start living w integrity and stop selling our souls for image, a good sustainable life for all becomes possible. Not until. 😑
It's interesting to note that on two different occasions his case was reviewed, and his sentence was lengthened. In the last ruling, his original sentence of 5 years was increased to 15 years.
But he may not be, I mean need not locked up right now, he’s out on bail….. he hasn’t been sentenced yet and he’s out until he is. He could get no jail time or only like 3 yrs!!
@@ziskabrits618 no the parents told him they dont want to hear a word he says, he gave them respect by not saying anything to them. But we did hear him say many times he was sorry
Still doesn't track for me that this guy got up with the thought that there was an intruder in the house to the point where he got his gun out and never thought once to wake up the person next to him. And even stranger still an intruder wouldn't go hide in the bathroom would they? Or at least me hearing something from bathroom would just assume that was my partner but again my first thought, even in a half asleep state, would turn to my partner to see if they heard something, not sure what this judge was seeing and hearing but it wasn't logical either way.
I’m an American and have been around and been using firearms regularly for almost 30 years straight. I’ve been constantly training myself to try and understand the best tactics of how to use firearms from everything from self defense, offensive and counter attack maneuvers, hunting, and even building, tear down and cleaning, and modifying (legally). I’ve been in a shooting before at a mall even. My point is that I’m always prepared for a home invasion and there’s no possible way that I would ever do what he did. Even if I knew far less than I did, I would still not do it. If I genuinely thought an intruder was in my home then I’d keep the firearm pointed at the door while calling police and simultaneously checking on the welfare of my wife. My goal is to not use my pistol or my shotgun. It’s the last thing I want to do as it causes a ton of potential issues. The only way I’m firing is if I have no choice as I’m protecting myself and my family. I’m also only firing if I know what I’m firing at. There’s no way I’d be blindly firing through a door, particularly if I didn’t know exactly where my wife was and exactly who and what was behind the door. If I thought an intruder was in my home, the door was closed and I had a gun and I didn’t know where my wife was then I’d have the police on speaker informing them then I’d break the door down after shouting numerous times just so I could find my wife and be prepared for the intruder. But I’d never even assume an intruder if my wife wasn’t answering behind the bathroom as I’d assume a medical emergency.
On Friday, March 31, 2023, Oscar Pistorius was again denied release by South Africa’s parole board, saying they believe he’s still a threat to public safety. Thank you Lord!
I'm confused as to why his defense attorney said he didn't have his prosthetic legs on when shooting through the door. Yet the photos taken of him at the crime scene show his prosthetic legs covered in blood, which he very much is wearing... 🤔
It was said that he shot at the bathroom door while NOT wearing his prosthetics, then returned to the bedroom, donned his prosthetics, and returned to kick the bathroom door in-I believe that is his version of the story.
Horrific !!! You'd think that someone who had to overcome a disability would regard others' lives much more carefully. He should get the death penalty.
This is a dangerous thing to say, she deserved to live. Not because of her pretty face but because nobody deserves to be killed, especially not by their partner. No matter how they look! Someone's life doesn't suddenly become more precious just because they look a certain way or have a certain job. That's how abusers view the world, in a very superficial light. They rank people according to their usefulness. We should be careful not to encourage this kind of thinking!
Beautiful beautiful woman. She seemed like a sweet girl. I like her picture of her in black and white. It shows her freckles, and it's so wholesome and endearing. I feel for her family, and i pray that they are doing well and are staying strong.
Reeva wasn't just a beautiful face - she was smart and she never forgot where she came from; as a female lawyer, she would have been able to accomplish a lot for women in South Africa.
Is it worth being a lawyer in a broken justice system like that? A system where a judge can suddenly deny the witness accounts from several neighbors with the argument "Because I said so!"
Reeva didn’t qualify as a lawyer. Her father wanted her to . He wanted her to have a good career and not enter the world of modelling as he was aware of the dark side of the modelling world . However, Reeva liked the glamorous side of modelling and all the connections associated with the job . She was a good looking woman with a bubbly personality , so it’s understandable. On social media , Reeva talked about DV and not putting up with an abusive relationship. Yet, ironically she was in an abusive relationship herself and didn’t leave him. It’s so sad
@@helenfong3339 You’re very right , she might have been scared to leave him . In fact , I remember reports stating she’d packed a bag and was going to leave that night , so maybe she had told him she was going to break up with him. And judging by her texts to him, he was abusive to her in many ways that we will never know about . That man is evil .
Leaving a narcissist before he's lined up the next victim can be very dangerous! It's sad that all the information about narcissists wasn't around in 2014, otherwise she could have protected herself and gotten away from him safely...
Old Cream record from the 60’s" I'm so glad'. I'm Glad I'm Glad I'm Glad ...Ginger Baker on drums...Fork him he should never be free. The poor woman.needs to be vindicated. By him being locked up till he does...like what he did to her ...
I'm from South Africa and believe Pistorius killed Reeva in a fit of narcissistic rage. He has never told the truth and could rot in jail for the rest of his life (though he won't), for all I care.
He cried nonstop until receiving his verdict, clearly putting on a performance throughout the trial. Those people defending him are disgusting. People stupidly think that being friends or family with someone means they could never commit a crime. Ridiculous. People often hide their truest self from those closest to them. And some of the most charming people are the most evil. A woman was murdered. His friends and family should be ashamed of themselves for refusing to acknowledge what he did. He's a killer full stop.
If there was an intruder he had the advantage as the bathroom door was locked, after the first shot he must have heard Reeva scream, but he shot another 3 times. And the judge refusing to believe multiple witness testimonies of sounds on the night appears corrupt.
This happened in my country South Africa 🇿🇦and this is a case that will stay with me for the rest of my life.😢 Reeva's dear parents could not come to terms.🥺 I for one is happy his parole was dismissed last week. Within a short period after Reeva's death & before his Court Case started, he already was seen with another girl.🤔
I'm always amazed at the excuses someone makes for being reckless and impulsive. Actions have consequences. When will people get that thru their heads?!
My ex was a narcissist and he is still pulling every string to destroy my life and my family's reputation. It angers me how narcissistic devils get away every time with continues lying and manipulation.
He went to bed with her and woke up without her. Then he should have assumed that she was the person in the bathroom was her. So, his explanation does not make any sense. In addition, who shoots without asking "who is in there?". One does not just pick up a gun and start shooting into a room without asking questions especially when you are not the only one in the house. Finally, he has no history of being robbed or attacked at night. So why so much anxiety about being robbed. I would have found him guilty as a judge If I was the judge on that case.
Hello from South Africa. Thank you for this well-constructed episode @48Hours. I remember the first time I saw Oscar represent us at the paralympics. It filled our hearts with pride and showed us that anything was possible. We lost more than Reeva through this tragedy. We lost part of our identity. I hope to see more episodes about South African cases in the future as someone who follows your other stories, for example the Klerksdorp Killers.
When you listen to the former girlfriend’s mother, what becomes clear is that ppl allow celebrities to get away with things that other ppl wouldn’t be able to. When ppl are allowed to get away with things, they keep going further. In many cases, like this one, a monster is created. I don’t discount the fear that can be associated with disabilities. I know a paraplegic who has expressed similar concerns and is often armed with a gun. But, the known facts of this case make his story implausible. When ppl cover their faces when “crying”, I often think they are not really crying. I think he hunted this girl in his home and expected to get away with it.
It’s also the fact of where they live. Have you been to Africa? Even in the most expensive suburbs there are 12ft high fences with electric wire surrounding, and there is so much crime. He may have woken in a panic though he saw her in bed and actually become overcome with terror.. it did seem it was building regardless. Lots of things don’t add up but it’s plausible
@@Evebear My aunt has lived in Zimbabwe for more than 30 years. I have been there and South Africa. My aunt's property is fenced but, they don't own that type of weaponry. His neighbors hearing blood curdling screams from a woman before doesn't quite fit his narrative. At least, you're not going to continue to be so terrified that you start shooting through the door. No, his explanation is not plausible. I don't believe him at all.
His story has not even the slightest percent of plausibility. He knew who was behind that door. He seems insecure and jealous. He murdered that woman, end of story. That judge is a disgrace also.
Wonder why he didn't check to see if his girlfriend was okay in the bed next to him when he thought someone just broke into his house? His whole argument doesn't hold up.
Didn't he check to see that she was safe beside him when he heard an "intruder"? When he called out for her to call the police, didn't he hear a response from her? If not, how could he take a chance to fire into the bathroom, when he did not know where she was? Didn't he know that she might get up to go to the bathroom at night? Too many things make no sense. I bet she went into the bathroom for protection from him, and then he shot her through the door.

He was just denied parole last week. I was so happy to read that. He murdered that poor lady.
His name looks like pistachio
I dated an amputee and he did bodybuilding on Venice beach. With or without legs they ARE capable of killing someone.

Good point, wording could be crucial here.
When you wake up and its not a fixed pattern, you will not realize instantly there was someone else.
He can yell and ask whether that's her in the bathroom, the case is just silly
Thank you for that.
Yes they were the only one in that house
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Why not call out to her before he start shooting. He murdered her.

@@iclite3656 Yeah, borderline gaslighting. She's saying to them that they really didn't hear a scream. Smh.

She seems corrupt and career driven. The victim is not here anymore to speak up for herself, so she knew she has nothing to lose and chose to save the man that had killed the young woman.
She helped the one who had more power. The perpetrator.
Why would a burglar be in your bathroom with the light on and the door closed...... And while your wife is clearly not in bed with you............
*Girlfriend
Yeah and why would your partner lock the door behind her when she goes to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Exactly! And he didn't think to tell her to call the police or to stay in bed while he checked?
I came home from work one night and thought my roommate was in the shower. But it was really an intruder who had heard me come home, ran to the bathroom, locked the door and turned on the shower. He got stuck trying to go out the window.
This is sometimes the presentation of a burglar on drugs. If on the street, they haven’t had access to a private bathroom for months. Pistorius was not just prone to narcissism after his accomplishments. With his partners, he was a man without feet. What physical circumstance could make him more prone to jealousy?

She took him while he was in a relationship with SAM the ex.
As soon as the first shot went off she screamed out, he heard her voice screaming. 4 shots at a female voice, you'd stop at one. He would have pulled the trigger 4 times.

Especially when your house is alarmed anyway
He could have said reeva is that you
...before shooting.. and shooting... and shooting... and shooting.
Disgusting!
Exactly
This is whats happening in every level of domestic abuse by men.

He killed her in cold blood. He was used to get his way as people covered up his mistakes.
Which mistakes would that be?
I dated an amputee and he did bodybuilding on Venice beach. With or without legs they ARE capable of killing someone.

I was shocked listening to her also. So much she disregarded.
The fact that one person can decide about someone's else's life in court is unimaginable. Yet it was one person only who decided to end Reevas life.

There should be a separate trial for that judge for coming back with such a ridiculous verdict. Oscar's story makes no sense
She ran into the bathroom to escape him...
Yes, she run to the bathroom. Bu he got her... 😖

There is no way, that he did not know who was behind that toilet door, which was locked by the way from the inside, so she was running from him. She must have schreamed for help and for him to stop, as he shot her again and again 😭💔my heart goes out to beautiful Reeva and her family
Those are assumptions. Not facts.
😩The look on 'Sam's face when she realized her mom did not have her back by opening her eyes to what an abusive and controlling relationship is😪. 🤧So sad.
If I wake up and my husband isn’t next to me in bed, the LAST thing I would do is shoot up the bathroom thinking it’s an intruder!
True! Even in South Africa
IDK WHY the judge dismissed all the neighbors' testimonies that they had heard them fighting & she was yelling & calling out!! 💔
Because the sound that was made in court sounds like a dog howling.
This judge had to be on the take.
You know....
there were four shots. at least after the first shot he knew who is in theToilette. they had an argument on Valentine's Day, she fled to Toilette, he murdered her.
Yep, he was out of his mind with rage, shooting the place up.
Exactly... 😖😖
A white judge will be too obvious if oscar got away with a light sentence. Ablack female judge will easily be regarded as incompetent anyway so she took the fall for the corrupt judicial system. Its South Africa, the system is already rigged in favor of the white man, considering a rich upper class white male like Pistorius.
George Zimmerman got off for murdering treyvon Martin by a jury because they were all racist so…..
Exactly!
Sadly that is what many judges do. Just because they're allowed to do it.
It's a horrible shame, she was such a beautiful lady Rest in Peace.....she deserved Better 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Her beauty was secondary to her intelligence
If she wasn’t so hot he probably would have gotten away with it.
She was not only beautiful but very smart and compassionate according to those who met her.
Incompetent judge, yes!
A corrupt judge, I'd say!
Riva was cowering in the toilet cubicle. That's why he moved her body and dragged her out of position. He is definitely guilty.
@@Gigi1111Layna Oh, yeah, you're so right!
@@Gigi1111Layna Very good point!!! There was no good reason to move her!
Not until. 😑
Anger issues are always a red flag
True but the devil sent the beast with wrath...
The prosecutor did a great job presenting the case. The judge was definitely compromised.
It's interesting to note that on two different occasions his case was reviewed, and his sentence was lengthened. In the last ruling, his original sentence of 5 years was increased to 15 years.
One of the worst judges I have ever seen! Can't say I'm surprised!
Throwing out the testimony of neighbors is sickey
he's so evil. thought his notoriety would get him out of the charges. glad he will be locked up for a long time. he has psychopathic stare.
But he may not be, I mean need not locked up right now, he’s out on bail….. he hasn’t been sentenced yet and he’s out until he is. He could get no jail time or only like 3 yrs!!

Exactly my thinking as well, He is Guilty.
Incompetent judge
That's because he made the whole thing up. He knew he would eventually get away with it.

You know he killed her because he was angry. He was probably afraid that she would leave him and he was jealous.
He got away of killing that beautiful woman, but he won’t get away from his own final judgment.
He didn't panic. He was in a blind rage
Yep, he was emotionally unstable, had a severe fear of abandonment, and wasn’t able to cope when he didn’t have things his way.
@@twatts1523 I think you said it perfectly!
Spot on. She locked herself in there to get away from him. Him being the way he is, he couldn’t handle that.
@Hannah E I agree. It really did look like she wanted to get away from him. The door was locked!
Verrückt! Das sind Zustände. Gott sei Dank gibt solche Zustände nicht in Europa!
"FOR SURE"
Horrific !!! You'd think that someone who had to overcome a disability would regard others' lives much more carefully. He should get the death penalty.
Reeva was such a natural beauty, absolutely stunning to look at. She deserved so much more than the short life she got 😢
It shouldn’t matter how attractive you are whether you deserve a good life or not..
Beautiful physically and so full of compassion!!😢
Beautiful beautiful woman. She seemed like a sweet girl. I like her picture of her in black and white. It shows her freckles, and it's so wholesome and endearing. I feel for her family, and i pray that they are doing well and are staying strong.
You are absolutely right
Reeva wasn't just a beautiful face - she was smart and she never forgot where she came from; as a female lawyer, she would have been able to accomplish a lot for women in South Africa.
It’s so sad
@@cherrymetha3185 Maybe she was afraid to leave him. Unfortunately, many who are victims of DV feel that way.
@@helenfong3339 You’re very right , she might have been scared to leave him . In fact , I remember reports stating she’d packed a bag and was going to leave that night , so maybe she had told him she was going to break up with him. She applied to the bar in 2011 and was about to finish university.
That judge should be disbarred and never practice law again in her life.
It was her last case before retirement....
That judge needs to step down. She should not be a judge imho.
I'm so happy that this judge is not here in our united of states..
To take witness information and disregard is unacceptable..
She was probably going to leave him.

Leaving a narcissist before he's lined up the next victim can be very dangerous! It's sad that all the information about narcissists wasn't around in 2014, otherwise she could have protected herself and gotten away from him safely...

I agree!!! They should be telling HER story not giving him more air time.
Thanks for posting. I'm from South Africa, and this was really so sad 😢 His parole application last week was denied
There should be a separate trial for that judge for coming back with such a ridiculous verdict. His story makes no sense.

Those people defending him are disgusting. People stupidly think that being friends or family with someone means they could never commit a crime. Ridiculous. People often hide their truest self from those closest to them. And some of the most charming people are the most evil. A woman was murdered. If there was an intruder he had the advantage as the bathroom door was locked, after the first shot he must have heard Reeva scream, but he shot another 3 times. And the judge refusing to believe multiple witness testimonies of sounds on the night appears corrupt.

I can’t stand when justice isn’t served!
How exactly isn't justice served, even a little bit, when he's been sitting in prison for over 10 years now?
It got a bit better at least. He had a retrial because the judge made legal errors, so he got 15 years
he won't be able to either!
You're not going to continue to believe your home invader is a woman who is screaming in your bathroom.
Oscar is the epitome of "Looks can be decieving!"
