Emily's death was the biggest shocker for me. I didn't know she was going to be killed, and then never come back! Little Jake Spencer was heart breaking too. As far as Jason, another popular character, I refuse to believe he's dead.
I was disappointed that they killed her character off in such a way. Even though this was the storyline I could not imagine being a mother and sleeping with a person that killed your daughter because they thought you wanted her out of your way. I do not know if I could come back from something like that as a parent
B. J. mother was Tanya Roscov Jones (Tony's first wife who was killed by a hit and run driver) not Bobbie Spencer. Bobbie was her stepmother. Bobbie delivered B. J.

Dr. Tony Jones death was one of the saddest and tragic deaths in my many years of watchng GH. I remember weeping uncontrolably when Tony died of a virus in his hospital bed. His goodbye conversation with Bobbie, his son Lucas, even Luke. Suddenely Tony could see his dead daughter BJ coming for him, and he died. ~ The ghostly reprises of Tony's character coming to talk to Lucas, giving him advice, have touched me deeply as well.
You missed one. Even though he is no longer dead on the show, me and my entire family thinks the scene where Elizabeth thought Lucky died in the house fire was the most soul-stirring bereavement scene maybe in all of daytime. Then when Laura walked along the railroad tracks facing a train because she couldn’t adjust to Lucky being dead. GH had the best acting scenes of all of daytime back then!!!
Sabrina!!!! I loved her! She was sooo good with Patrick! Her whole story line was great...loved her with Epiphany. She just was surrounded by sadness and to kill her off like they did was tragic!
I cried really hard when Georgie was murdered. Mistaken identity couldn't save her, Diego killed her anyway. He could of turned around and walked away but he "wanted to kill" at this point. Poor Georgie.

You have the wrong year for the death of B,J. Jones. We just actually marked the anniversary of its airing. The scenes began on May 13, 1994, not 1993. The cliffhanger of Amy telling Tony and Bobbie B.J. was brought in after the van crash was Friday, May 13. B.J's death was the week of May 16, but I promise you it was 1994.
I remember Robin's death. Getting burned alive has got to be one of the worst ways to go while your husband is screaming at the door trying to save you but he can't. I cried really really really really hard because they did such a really really really really good job making it look realistic. Jason Thompson should have received an Emmy for that. Gut-wrenching heart-wrenching just unbearable. I love that somebody fixed that mistake down the road but it was really good writing at the expense of a beloved character.
Robin is alive, and that wasn't Robin who burn alive, that was someone else that the villainous Caesar Faison killed, and then also, Robin was saved and was being against her will by the villainous Caesar Faison, he used her against her mother, u know that he was obsessed with Robin and her mother, Anna Devane , so he used Robin to get to her, also Faison has a snag for taking people's children

Reese was a former friend of Carly for like a minute. Carly bedded Resse's father remember? Not friends. Her death was not very tragic anyway. She died helping others as she bled to death in a corner. Not tragic. She was not even a contract player. No one but Sonny cared about her death or even noticed.
The scully's dying wasn't tragic either. In fact we all knew that family had no survival skills and father and son both died unseranmonisly. Who cares, next.

Georgie was one i thought you might mention. Wasn't she another death by the text message killer? I wasn't actually watching back then. I didn't start watching ubtil around 2009 possibly a little before. However, when i did start watching i would binge watch the show on UA-cam. Everytime i heard them talking about another character from tge past i would continue to go back further and further to see who was related to who, how they fit into a plot/storyline and if they were dead what happened and why. It was like going into a never ending rabbit hole. That was how i found out about BJ. I also went back and watched practically all of the Nurses Balls. I also went back and watched the Black and White Ball when Emily died , found about Jason's accident and so much more. I was force into retirement due to illnesses and could no longer work and well i had nothing better to do at that time one might say. Yes she was , the villainous Deigo Alzcar killed Georgie out of revenge against her and sister Maxie, but he was going after Maxie, he before, but Georgie save her , but then he came after Maxie again by sending her a text back in 2008 , luring her into his deadly trap and Georgie became another victim of the text message serial killer
Some of the best acting I ever saw on GH over its 60 years happened when Georgie died. Spinelli, Mac, Maxie, Robin, even Dillon, who came back to PC and found out she'd been slain. And remember Maxi calling out Felicia for abandoning Georgie and her. For me, that is second only to the death of Lila, the beloved matriarch of the Quartermaine family. It tore my soul out, and I forgot it was just a soap when I heard Tracy's visceral crying, "I want my mommy." It could've been so cheesy, but Jane Elliot was just amazing.
I also would list these three: 1. The death of Sam's baby. Again, some amazing acting. 2. Dominique's death. 3. The death (we thought) of Lesley Webber in a car crash. Before Sonny and Carly, Lesley had been an exciting lead in the show's early days.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets caught in these rabbit holes. I don't watch the show currently but every 5 years or so I find myself reading up on it and then going back and back and back. I forget the website I used before youtube. It was all written but it had every detail about every character. I'd be reading about one and there'd be something about a different character so I'd jump to that one until I'd gotten so far I couldn't even remember where I started
Omg, BJ’s death was when I first started watching... I was probably too young to watch, but my mom was a fan. I remember her Dad breaking my heart listening to his daughters heart in Maxie. Then Stones death. Omg... when he sees her in the light. They were such a beautiful couple. I was so happy that they didn’t throw Robin into another relationship. I really think that they never should have killed off Emily. It would have made more sense to have her be kidnapped by Helena... ugh! All the scenes of the Black and White Ball was horrifying. I did forget the Diego was Emily’s murderer. I don’t know how Georgies death is not on here... was she also killed by Diego? How do these people stay sane. Other deaths that crushed me were Alan Quartermaines, Tony Jones... ugh!

Yooo, that was a good list. I didn't think y'all were gonna put Kiki Jerome. Some honorable mentions: Maxie's sister Georgie, who died younger than Kiki and Emily, Franco was a heartbreaker, Morgan Corinthos and the car bomb planted by Julian Jerome that was meant for Sonny, and last AJ Quartermain, love him or hate him, he was getting his life together, reconnecting with his son Michael, and he was wrongfully shot in cold blood by Sonny. I was rooting for AJ to get it together and that one stung.
I just rewatched the scene two days ago as I accidentally found an old GH scene of Felicia and Frisco and then fell down the rabbit hole for hours watching old clips. Bobbie did refuse as she refused to believe that BJ was going to die and kept saying she would wake up, despite being told by Steve that BJ was brain dead. I think if given enough time, she would have been more open, but Maxie was dying and they didn’t have the time to wait.

Oscar's death was sad but anticipated. Mike's death was sad but anticipated. Sabrina's death came straight out of a Dirty Harry movie that was both scary and devastating. Not only was Sabrina a beloved character, but she was murdered by a serial killer by being stabbed over and over in a room at GH. Her death scene is one of nightmares. Kiki dying was horrible as she was becoming a nurse and starting a beautiful love story. The grief that Maura West's character, Ava, showed at finding her dead daughter was heart wrenching. Franco should have never been killed off. GH made a terrible mistake at killing off that character that Roger Howarth had made into a loving family man. Roger's wit and caring soul added so much to GH and if a character should come back from the dead, it's Franco! What a mistake at letting Roger Howarth leave.
Courtney Mathews's death was sad but her character was so watered down from the fiesty girl we were introduced to, although sad but expected. Her character was really going no where fast. A Quick and clean ending for her and baby drama begins which I liked. I really liked Courtney when she was first introduced but pairing her with AJ despite warnings from everyone was the beginning of this characters down fall in my opinion. That's why her and Jason never worked out. She lost herself somewhere and never made it back. Just a wilting flower and thats so sad because I saw her character going places if she stayed somewhat single and never married anyone.

@nancysummers3878 the boat thing was when Alcazar had Carly captive after Ric kidnapped her while married to Liz after Faith caused her miscarrage by pushing her down some stairs and blaming Sonny. This in turn made Courtney have one of her own when she jumped from tye ship they were on while playing hero.
Fun story: I was still in school at the time BJ died. My mom happened to have been home and, strangely, was watching GH ( she's not a soap fan by no stretch of the imagination). She watched the episode where BJ died and was so moved that she came to my school ( I was in middle school at the time) to pick me up because she had to see "her baby". Okay, I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY.
Oscar's death was extremely sad because his mother didn't tell him until the end so he didn't have much time to prepare not to mention he died a virgin he didn't even get a chance to have sex once and make love with his first girlfriend Jocelyn. I thought they made a terrific couple. I never liked Jocelyn with Cameron as a couple. Oscar was the best

That was very sad. He was the father of Liz's first baby Cameron. To this day Cameron still leads a confused and heartbreaking life so let's hope the next time we see him he will be much happier
I wish Ava paid for killing Connie. What a senseless death. The truth came out about Derek Wells aka Julian anyway. I would have thought kidnapping her and keeping her hidden would have been the better move. Murder draws too much attention.

They could have brought Nathan west back by saying Faison faked his death. That he was trying to brainwash him to be the type of son he wanted. Is Faison supposed to finally be dead? Could still say he was being held after...anyways would have been nice to see his character resurrected
It didn't play out on screen, for obvious reasons, but Bobbie's death, complete with BJ's visit for the service, Felicia, Maxie and Lucas all realizing it was BJ, and what Bobbie was doing when she passed, the callback to her history... It was so heartbreaking, and truly was a fitting sendoff to the legendary Jackie Zeaman. I still tear up thinking about it. And along those lines, Luke's death was difficult, too. Alan Quartermaine and Tony Jones were tragic as well. Courtney dying after giving birth to Spencer, and not being able to tell Nicholas he was his father first. You should have done a top 10 so you could squeeze those in. Edward Quartermaine's death was probably up there, too. Especially since he sacrificed what may have given him more time so Emma could be saved. I still remember the actor's last scene. That little wave Edward gave Emma.
Definitely all of those that were listed but duke Lavery blast from the past the first time when Anna found his wedding ring definitely one of the most recent sad ones is Brandon that really sucks

I'm NOT familiar with any of these happenings. I just started watching GH about 6 years ago, so I don't know ANY of these people. I started watching when Oscar died. (I notice they didn't mention him AT ALL)
You should do as I did and get on UA-cam and find as many years as possible and different storylines as possible to catch up on old shows of General Hospital you will be absolutely amazed at the acting the directing the lighting the story's how they included much of the cast in almost every story that they did stories back in the day we're so compelling and so intricate and they included most of the cast in almost every storyline. I went as far back to see how Jason was conceived and how he came to the quartermaine's as a baby and why. His mother was murdered and everyone was a suspect even the quartermaine's. And sometimes they put in little comedy pieces in the quarter main story because the quartermaine's are so dysfunctional people sometimes it's comical to watch them argue 8-bit and blaming each other for a murder that happened. That's why in the Quartermaine house on Thanksgiving they always have turkey that gets ruined or forgotten or torched or stolen until they always end up with pizza. I would very much beg you to go back and watch old stories to see how great General Hospital used to be. It's a long way from how it is today.
I would have added Georgie's death, Maxie's sister for whom she named her daughter after. That would be 6 tragic deaths. The death of Stone was brought up recently with Jagger Cates coming back to get revenge on Sonny for his brother and his ex-wife. Jagger named his son after his brother, Stone, he mentioned his son, but we never have seen him (young Cates).
Maxie’s sister Georgie! HELLO?!! But yes! I agree, with B.J. And Stone, and Nathan!!! I sobbed! SOBBED!!! When they killed Nathan off!!! I’m STILL INCONSOLABLE!! 🥲..🤣

Tony Jones and Alan Quartermaine’s deaths are two of the saddest ones I can think of. Georgie Jones and Britt Westborne’s deaths were also very heartbreaking.
Also, u forgot about Courtney Matthews, Christina Cassidine, Chloe Morgan, Morgan Corrinthos , Tony Jones, Alan Quartermaine, Georgie Jones, Reese, I forget her last name, but she was the childhood friend of Carly , Jesse Goodrow, Connie Falconarie, and Trey Scully
Reese was a former friend of Carly for like a minute. Carly bedded Resse's father remember? Not friends. Her death was not very tragic anyway. She died helping others as she bled to death in a corner. Not tragic. She was not even a contract player. No one but Sonny cared about her death or even noticed.
The scully's dying wasn't tragic either. In fact we all knew that family had no survival skills and father and son both died unseranmonisly. Who cares, next.

@@sherryoneal1740 Kristina, Star , Michael, and Trey were in a series car accident, along with Connie Falconarie, Trey's mother, who also accidentally ran over Ellie Trout , while they chasing after her, who also kidnapped Johnny, anyway they all chasing after her and then they got into a series car accident and Trey died at the hospital, right in front of Kristina and his mother, there were people who care and I was just talking about Trey , not his father, I care less about his father, he deserves his fate , although he died saving Tracy's life , because on his death bed , he admitted to Tracy that he gave her the cure to protect her from the villainous Jerry Jax's poison and then he said that he'll always love her, but anyway I didn't care about his death, but Trey was tragic

Georgie was one i thought you might mention. Wasn't she another death by the text message killer? I wasn't actually watching back then. I didn't start watching ubtil around 2009 possibly a little before. However, when i did start watching i would binge watch the show on UA-cam. Everytime i heard them talking about another character from tge past i would continue to go back further and further to see who was related to who, how they fit into a plot/storyline and if they were dead what happened and why. It was like going into a never ending rabbit hole. That was how i found out about BJ. I also went back and watched practically all of the Nurses Balls. I also went back and watched the Black and White Ball when Emily died , found about Jason's accident and so much more. I was force into retirement due to illnesses and could no longer work and well i had nothing better to do at that time one might say. Yes she was , the villainous Deigo Alzcar killed Georgie out of revenge against her and sister Maxie, but he was going after Maxie, he before, but Georgie save her , but then he came after Maxie again by sending her a text back in 2008 , luring her into his deadly trap and Georgie became another victim of the text message serial killer
Some of the best acting I ever saw on GH over its 60 years happened when Georgie died. Spinelli, Mac, Maxie, Robin, even Dillon, who came back to PC and found out she'd been slain. And remember Maxi calling out Felicia for abandoning Georgie and her.
For me, that is second only to the death of Lila, the beloved matriarch of the Quartermaine family. It tore my soul out, and I forgot it was just a soap when I heard Tracy's visceral crying, "I want my mommy." It could've been so cheesy, but Jane Elliot was just amazing.
I also would list these three:
1. The death of Sam's baby. Again, some amazing acting.
2. Dominique's death.
3. The death (we thought) of Lesley Webber in a car crash. Before Sonny and Carly, Lesley had been an exciting lead in the show's early days.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets caught in these rabbit holes. I don't watch the show currently but every 5 years or so I find myself reading up on it and then going back and back and back. I forget the website I used before youtube. It was all written but it had every detail about every character. I'd be reading about one and there'd be something about a different character so I'd jump to that one until I'd gotten so far I couldn't even remember where I started

Omg, BJ’s death was when I first started watching... I was probably too young to watch, but my mom was a fan. I remember her Dad breaking my heart listening to his daughters heart in Maxie. Then Stones death. Omg... when he sees her in the light. They were such a beautiful couple. I was so happy that they didn’t throw Robin into another relationship. I really think that they never should have killed off Emily. It would have made more sense to have her be kidnapped by Helena... ugh! All the scenes of the Black and White Ball was horrifying. I did forget the Diego was Emily’s murderer. I don’t know how Georgies death is not on here... was she also killed by Diego? How do these people stay sane. Other deaths that crushed me were Alan Quartermaines, Tony Jones... ugh!

Yooo, that was a good list. I didn't think y'all were gonna put Kiki Jerome. Some honorable mentions: Maxie's sister Georgie, who died younger than Kiki and Emily, Franco was a heartbreaker, Morgan Corinthos and the car bomb planted by Julian Jerome that was meant for Sonny, and last AJ Quartermain, love him or hate him, he was getting his life together, reconnecting with his son Michael, and he was wrongfully shot in cold blood by Sonny. I was rooting for AJ to get it together and that one stung.

I just rewatched the scene two days ago as I accidentally found an old GH scene of Felicia and Frisco and then fell down the rabbit hole for hours watching old clips. Bobbie did refuse as she refused to believe that BJ was going to die and kept saying she would wake up, despite being told by Steve that BJ was brain dead. I think if given enough time, she would have been more open, but Maxie was dying and they didn’t have the time to wait.

Oscar's death was sad but anticipated. Mike's death was sad but anticipated. Sabrina's death came straight out of a Dirty Harry movie that was both scary and devastating. Not only was Sabrina a beloved character, but she was murdered by a serial killer by being stabbed over and over in a room at GH. Her death scene is one of nightmares. Kiki dying was horrible as she was becoming a nurse and starting a beautiful love story. The grief that Maura West's character, Ava, showed at finding her dead daughter was heart wrenching. Franco should have never been killed off. GH made a terrible mistake at killing off that character that Roger Howarth had made into a loving family man. Roger's wit and caring soul added so much to GH and if a character should come back from the dead, it's Franco! What a mistake at letting Roger Howarth leave.
I think Emily's and George's death hit me the hardest. Both were so sweet and innocent, so it was hard seeing them strangled to death.

Courtney Mathews's death was sad but her character was so watered down from the fiesty girl we were introduced to, although sad but expected. Her character was really going no where fast. A Quick and clean ending for her and baby drama begins which I liked. I really liked Courtney when she was first introduced but pairing her with AJ despite warnings from everyone was the beginning of this characters down fall in my opinion. That's why her and Jason never worked out. She lost herself somewhere and never made it back. Just a wilting flower and thats so sad because I saw her character going places if she stayed somewhat single and never married anyone.
@@nancysummers3878 Courtney died from complications due to the pathogen that was running around rampid through the city I want to say the pathogen that was in the water. By the time they had the antidote Courtney had already passed.

This in turn made Courtney have one of her own when she jumped from tye ship they were on while playing hero.

Fun story: I was still in school at the time BJ died. My mom happened to have been home and, strangely, was watching GH ( she's not a soap fan by no stretch of the imagination). She watched the episode where BJ died and was so moved that she came to my school ( I was in middle school at the time) to pick me up because she had to see "her baby". Okay, I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY.

Oscar's death was extremely sad because his mother didn't tell him until the end so he didn't have much time to prepare not to mention he died a virgin he didn't even get a chance to have sex once and make love with his first girlfriend Jocelyn. I thought they made a terrific couple. I never liked Jocelyn with Cameron as a couple. Oscar was the best

That was very sad. He was the father of Liz's first baby Cameron. To this day Cameron still leads a confused and heartbreaking life so let's hope the next time we see him he will be much happier

The Nurses Ball, was not started in his honor. He performed with Robin in a couple of them, before his diagnosis.
They could have brought Nathan west back by saying Faison faked his death. That he was trying to brainwash him to be the type of son he wanted. Is Faison supposed to finally be dead? Could still say he was being held after...anyways would have been nice to see his character resurrected
It didn't play out on screen, for obvious reasons, but Bobbie's death, complete with BJ's visit for the service, Felicia, Maxie and Lucas all realizing it was BJ, and what Bobbie was doing when she passed, the callback to her history... It was so heartbreaking, and truly was a fitting sendoff to the legendary Jackie Zeaman. I still tear up thinking about it. And along those lines, Luke's death was difficult, too. Alan Quartermaine and Tony Jones were tragic as well. Courtney dying after giving birth to Spencer, and not being able to tell Nicholas he was his father first. You should have done a top 10 so you could squeeze those in. Edward Quartermaine's death was probably up there, too. Especially since he sacrificed what may have given him more time so Emma could be saved. I still remember the actor's last scene. That little wave Edward gave Emma.

I'm NOT familiar with any of these happenings. I just started watching GH about 6 years ago, so I don't know ANY of these people. I started watching when Oscar died. (I notice they didn't mention him AT ALL)
You should do as I did and get on UA-cam and find as many years as possible and different storylines as possible to catch up on old shows of General Hospital you will be absolutely amazed at the acting the directing the lighting the story's how they included much of the cast in almost every story that they did stories back in the day we're so compelling and so intricate and they included most of the cast in almost every storyline. I went as far back to see how Jason was conceived and how he came to the quartermaine's as a baby and why. His mother was murdered and everyone was a suspect even the quartermaine's. And sometimes they put in little comedy pieces in the quarter main story because the quartermaine's are so dysfunctional people sometimes it's comical to watch them argue 8-bit and blaming each other for a murder that happened. That's why in the Quartermaine house on Thanksgiving they always have turkey that gets ruined or forgotten or torched or stolen until they always end up with pizza. I would very much beg you to go back and watch old stories to see how great General Hospital used to be. It's a long way from how it is today.
I would have added Georgie's death, Maxie's sister for whom she named her daughter after. That would be 6 tragic deaths.
The death of Stone was brought up recently with Jagger Cates coming back to get revenge on Sonny for his brother and his ex-wife. Jagger named his son after his brother, Stone, he mentioned his son, but we never have seen him (young Cates).
