@@DhampirMatt 💯 really love Amanda. She’s just like her mother. And the bitter sweet ending to Isolation with her finding the recording tape Ripley made and her getting rescued while floating in space and fading to black was excellent.

Why do you believe the writers and directors took more science fiction and action genre approach in the sequels instead of the horror genre in the original movie? Was the market too saturated with horror films at the time? I cannot wait to see more reviews from you.

I look forward to making more reviews! 💜🧛♀🙏 As for why the sequels took a more action and science fiction approach, for Aliens (1986), I think that's because action is both James Cameron's specialty and a very good way to escalate the scope of the original movie. Though, as outlined in the video, I personally feel Aliens is more horror than people give it credit for. (It's kind of like Predator in that it's these action movie heroes stuck in a slasher movie.) 🤔🔫💀 For the sequels after that, I think it was due to the failure of Alien 3's attempt at more stripped-down horror like the original movie combined with Aliens's critical and financial success. Plus, during the 90s and especially after Scream, there was a huge backlash to the slasher genre, so making something more akin to the original movie probably felt a little passé. 📝💸🔪
Romulus was so disappointing. Romulus felt like Ridley Scott took creative freedom from Fede and made a Prometheus 3 in disguise. The last 15-20 minutes was just WTF cringey.
I actually mostly liked Romulus - check out my thoughts on it here: ua-cam.com/users/shorts0NzL2e4fJqc - but I can definitely see where you're coming from. Having the last 15 to 20 minutes hinge on Prometheus and Covenant's plot device was a choice. 🤔❤😅
@@DhampirMatt imo the engineer’s didn’t create the Xenos. They just resurrected them from extinction and weapoized their fossilized dna into the black goo. That’s how I fix my issues with the Prometheus and Covenant films. I had fun still at the cinema a 6 out of 10 I’m just being nit picky. Lol
@@ParkerCS2 Ooh! I like that interpretation! It keeps the horror while still somewhat explaining the Xenomorphs! It also explains the Xeno mural in the Engineer ship in Prometheus! 🤍👏👽

Also what if the Engineers stole the advanced tech they have from another alien race that was the elephant space jockeys but the Engineers wear helmets as a tribute to their fallen victims similar to how Predators honor the sport they defeat or get defeated by. Or maybe a sub species of the engineers are natural elephant nose variants, and the humanoid faction of the race wear the elephant masks as a form of respect to the other sub race.

Facts! While I haven't beaten it on my Twitch channel (yet?), focusing on Amanda after Ripley's arc in Aliens just makes sense! 💚🙏😄
