- This is my amazing experience to one to the most beautiful monsoon treks in India - The Hampta Pass Trek.
At 14,100 feet, Hampta Pass in Himachal Pradesh falls under those rare, dramatic pass crossings in the Himalayas. On one side is the lush green valley of Kullu - with forests, grasslands, and flowers blooming on the side of your trail. On the other is the almost arid, stark landscape of Lahaul, with barren mountains and almost no vegetation.
Standing on the top of the pass, what’s ahead and behind are two different worlds. It changes in a matter of minutes.
Simply put, the Hampta Pass is Himachal’s Valley of Flowers. The landscape is strikingly similar to that of Valley of Flowers - a green narrow valley protected by snow-covered mountains - but there’s an added bonus here.
When you get onto the other side of the Hampta Pass, you’ll be in awe looking at the stark contrast from what you just left behind. The landscape that stretches in front of you is Spiti Valley, known for its barren stretches, rugged terrain and forget-me-not blue skies.
What makes the dramatic changes heightened, even more, is how thrilling the climb to Hampta Pass is. For trekkers, crossing the Hampta Pass (even without the scenery changes) is a great story of adventure. They will love the nervous excitement of climbing to the pass over many ledges, almost appearing to get to the pass, but never really sure until you get there.

What was your river crossing experience, i am going next week with india hikes. So scared of river now... Same 14 to 21 July .... It is going to rain for sure
River crossing is a thrilling experience. The only thing you should be scared about is the freezing water, otherwise there's no risk. IndiaHikes is a very professional group, you need not worry. But trust me no matter how cold the water would be, it'll be an amazing experience! 😍

I did this trek in July end 2021. Yes you can, but since Hampta pass being a monsoon trek, it is preferable to do this during the peak monsoon season in July and August.

Hampta is almost 26km long. It is one of the best monsoon treks where you can find both snow and rain.

Nahi, return route alag hota hai. Aap Kullu valley se Spiti valley me jate hai.

Hampta Pass is 26 km long trek. End point of the trek is Chhataru which is 1 hours away from Manali.

Bro I've one question to ask..how did you guys prepare your body fitness before this trek?
Hampta Pass will not require very much. If you are able to walk/run 5 kms in 45 mins, you should be good. So, start walking/running daily along with cycling for atleast 25 days before the trek
Bro we were planning for this trip, but mera friend yeh glaciers dekh kar darr gya hai ki voh bahut slippery na ho rain mein......what is the difficulty level of this trip??
Slippery to hota hai bhai, koi don't worry, this will be a moderate trek if the conditions are hard as in our case. If it is sunny, then the trek should be comparatively easy, just go for it ✨

How to rent trekking equipment in manali ?
Hello.
I'm sorry I'm not aware of any trekking equipment shop in Manali. We were provided the equipments on rent by the trekking organization itself - Trek The Himalayas.
How was your experience with trek the Himalayas?
It was a really good experience with TTH. The instructors were polite and professional at the same time. The food was quite good on all the days. The rented equipments were of good quality. Overall a really good experience, recommended!

I travelled with TrekTheHimalayas in 2021. The cost at that time was Rs.10K Manali to Manali

Yes Trek The Himalayas is very good and safe. The instructors are quite skilled and very helpful. The facilities provided are also very nice. The food is quite good and has good variety. You can surely try once. 😊

No network at all bro. It's better to do with trek with any trekking organization, so that if there's anything urgent you can get that message to Manali through the walkie talkie.

July is a better month for Hampta Pass trek, since it is the monsoon trek, and monsoon is at it's peak
