The music that you're choosing for your videos is great. Who can't appreciate some classic 60s soul music. Your expertise on the subject of whiskey is impressive and the added comedic touches enhance but don't distract from the information being shared. Keep up the great work!
I think this is going to be a regular habit, for which I thank you, Daren. Just keep the analysis on the human level, because those of us who love whiskey/whisky but can't tell the difference between toasted cinnamon or roasted cinnamon but know it tastes spicy, we can continue to appreciate your program.
These are SO hilarious!! Love your format with education about whiskey and really great humor! Kudos to Grainne for the cameo appearances. The look when putting in the water was Wonderful. Great video.
Been watching Try Channel for years. Love the Advent calender videos. Always thought you were the whiskey expert. Turns out I was correct. Love the format of your videos and your wit. Your take on remembering tasting whiskey from years ago is just how I feel. Who can actually do that. And your right, fruit should not be hairy. Keep up the content. Good job.
I stayed at the “G Hotel” in Malaysia. Yes, their club was called the “G Spot” 😂. Little did they know… Great show man! Love seeing you do your own thing. All the best from Southern California!
I just stumbled across this channel today and it's already my hands down favorite channel here on UA-cam! Already looking forward to next Friday's video! Your videos are informative, hilariously funny, and short & to the point! Well done! 10 out of 10!
My favorite Irish whiskey. It is rare (hard to find in the US). I had to come to Ireland in March to find Blue spot at the Jameson Distillery. It generally cost 100 euro but I get the vat back so ~80 euros for me ( a great deal). Keep up the great videos!
Never had blue spot, but my local whiskey and burger bar has yellow and green spot whiskeys; I slightly prefer green spot. Total Wine has blue spot for $400 . . .which is a little out of my price range, so its not one I will be trying soon. As always, a great video Darren. And Grainne! :D
Yellow spot is great... won't be able to get this in the US... another trip to Ireland is on the cards then... I can always see the family there after I get the Whiskey
Love the fun vids Darren! Really happy to see the early support. Also if the Try Channel brass are watching I think you know what the people want now - Irish people try hairy fruit. I recommend Rambutans and bucket fulls of kiwis.
I have yet to taste Blue Spot. Though I have to say, fav Irish is Redbreast 15. (I also have a couple of glasses like that one, only mine have Sláinte engraved on them).
I'm from perfidious Albion and I approve the trolling. On balance I think we deserve it. Also on a side note whiskey is lovely, as is rum, oh and tequila. I might be dirt poor but I am drunk and quite happy.
Rare and hard to find does not always equate good. I have never tried the Blue Spot. Had the Yellow and Green before and they were both ok, not great but a good sip. The best rare malt I have had was a bottle of Glenlochy 25 yr old distilled in my birth year of 1969. Cheers and slainte keep up the good videos!
I wasn't going to say anything last episode because maybe it was just an oversight, but now this is two in a row without a Grainne mugging. I am disappointed.
Great video, I have been turning bourbon and scotch drinkers on the the spot range (Green and Yellow are most available, Sometimes Red and Blue show their faces here in the USA) for years making a convert or two along the way. Now if you can find some West Cork rum cask finished whiskey, let us know what you think of that.
G spot is fantasy/fiction. It's like leprechauns, talked about but never seen or found. Although if you have enough of Blue Spot you might hear their singing as they cobble shoes.
Ouch these puns are giving me .....yup blue spots! I'm so intreaged but..... Canada is too far from ...grr as was said last time " you need to come and visit" .......only way to get interesting whiskey! Keep on doing this and you just might get me over there.... threat or promise...not sure.
however many years it takes, 1 million subscriber special, you better be trying some pappy van winkle. (or dont because jeez even the cheap bottles are like 700 bucks. )
Gonna enjoy your channel! Darren knows his whiskey, and is a right proper wise ass. Perfect mix. Where do we send lists of whiskey's for you to try and talk shit about?
I've been tempted for a couple years now to send a local distillery's hooch to TRY. DRY FLY, Spokane, Washington. I've only had their whiskey when it was really young, to me it tasted like ethanol and wheat straw (we're in major wheat country). I haven't tried their stuff aged yet, should be getting good. Their gin and vodka blew me away, I loathe both gin and vodka, for the most part, have to lick a cat's ass to get the taste out of my mouth. But DRY FLY vodka and gin both are ones i can drink neat, and actually enjoy. What kinda customs bullshit do we have to go thru to get you some?
When I was there last month they were selling blue spot for a hundred I think and red spot for 130-140 at Midleton. Got home and saw that both are going for 300$ in Texas. I should've brought a bunch home with me
@@lonewanderer3603 kinda by design I would say. I remember the head of Irish Distillers (the parent company) saying they wanted the Spots to be the Pappy Van Winkles of Irish Whiskey.

Help, Darren has me under lock and key, I’m stuck here, I can’t get out!!!! I need water, he keeps giving me whiskey!!!!
Well it is the water of life after all....
If you stop getting whisky, then you can ask us for help.
Make him go look for the g-spot whiskey and run 😂
boohoo
You just keep helping where needed and, before you know it, you may get a crust of bread. Of course, you'll have to wash it down with whiskey.
This video really hit the Blue Spot! 👀
Spots "A" through "F" were a complete failure but now we've stumbled upon a working plan which I shall call "G" spot. (read this in a Dr. Evil voice)
Wow! How in the name of all that is holy did you come up with that?😂😂😂😂😂😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Glad to hear that you finally let Darren hit your blue spot!
Groooan 🙄 😂
It only took you one TRY to make a great pun
Darren these are really good keep doing them please. I love the Grainne cameos.
Two Grainne cameos 👍
The reason I love this show is because Darren both educates and trolls his viewers.
YES FROM America.. This is cool more please
The young Darren flash back was brilliant. It was a much different time.
Darren, just found your channel... I had no idea you were so funny!! Love it! I'm hooked. : )

And don't forget to mention the fact that he has Gráinne in his videos. She is a key component.
Best. Intro. Ever.

Actually learned quite a bit in this video. I love the inclusion of history! Great stuff
This is my new favorite youtube channel.
Awesome. I’m glad I found the channel.
" Fruit shouldn't be Hairy" Classic!
Fantastic videos, funny, informative, concise. What more could you want?

Wish I could find Blue Spot here. (The one place I saw it priced it at $285. Nope.) I love that it's cask strength. 3-for-3 for Grainne appearances.
Yer doin' great Darren!
Keep going!
Your Try Channel internship has served you well!
Wow, now we (I) know how Darren got so knowledgeable at whiskey.

Love this. Thx for the info and the giggles
The difference between batch 1 and the most recent batch? About $200.
The Irish first introduced single pot still about a century or more before the Brits introduced the tax.
Good idea, love my Green Spot but have not had the Blue Spot all the other versions are tasty

That intro had me rolling and those little jokes and pun was good too.
So Darren what did you do to be run off like that? LOL!
I didn’t do anything! Which was probably the issue. I probably should have actually done some work…

Dumplings? And yes I’ll get tired of the silliness at some point. Great video.
€100 is crazy!
Kilkerran 8 cask strength is €65 and is also in high demand.
I came here for the whiskey review. I stayed for the humor. Darren is funny!
You've changed so much over the years. I think it's the hair cut!
Sounds like a good one to have on the rocks

If I was able to afford it, I'd get on a boat, visit Ireland and try the three whiskeys you've presented so far. Great video.
Good stuff. Thank you.
Yay!
g spot was class
G spot is fantasy/fiction. It's like leprechauns, talked about but never seen or found. Although if you have enough of Blue Spot you might hear their singing as they cobble shoes.
I had seven Spots at a tasting last year. Yellow Spot 12 won my vote narrowly beating the Blue Spot.
I live in Winnipeg Canada and can only find Yellow Spot for 85 euro; is it worth the price?
Well said.
Picked up a bottle of this last week. Looking forward to have a wee supp
Great intro,
At least Blue Spot has a blue spot on its label. True to its name. Unlike a certain other brand.
Fruit shouldn't be hairy!!!
Gold!!

I think it’s pretty difficult to ship alcohol unless it’s a business with a specific license.
I think I’ve just got to go to Spokane!
When I was there last month they were selling blue spot for a hundred I think and red spot for 130-140 at Midleton. Got home and saw that both are going for 300$ in Texas. I should've brought a bunch home with me
Was that Dermot telling you to get out at the beginning? I love other tryers being part of this with you.😊
Now we know why he knows so much !
You missed an opportunity with the Kiwi for a New Zealander cannibalism joke
Although Martin should have played a younger Darren
your show belongs on food network.
Why does just a few drops of water change the whiskey? It doesn't seem like just a few drop could make any change. I'm just curious.
You'd better damned well remember Gráinne's birthday.
Try Glendelough 7 yr next
Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Handsome Donald
This is the one to get, but all the spots are getting pretty expensive in the US.

Food shouldnt be Hairy? I've spent more time eating something hairy than I can remember.
Why you gotta do Saka like that Darren?
I think like 80-90% of the countries in the world have a reason to be spiteful against the brits.
