    In this video, we’re going to take a closer look at the 5 common credit card setups from American Express, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and Capital One
    Specifically, a viewer wanted to know what ecosystem would I go in on to maximize points accumulation in a year for that one currency?
    Not only did I give my opinion on what I would do, but the rest of you in the live stream also voted, and I was pretty surprised at the results.
    The top two issuers were pretty much preferred equally by you. the community, and this is very exciting because more competition means better cards so with that all being said, I hope you enjoy this very interactive session on what you thought was the best credit card setup using only one points system.

    I honestly would’ve picked between Wells Fargo and Chase. I just got into ordering my groceries online and it isn’t too bad so far, so I’d finally be able to use that CSP online grocery multiplier.

    single bank for me would be Capital One duo = Spark miles for business + Savor One

    For me multipliers are nice but benefits are better. FHR on a recent Waldorf stay, combined with Hilton Gold, saved us $790. At $.02/pt, which most aren’t getting, that’s almost 40k points. Then we got the additional $200 for prepaying. Multipliers are like hitting singles. The right benefits are like smacking home runs.

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  3 дні тому

      Yeah, benefits on these premium cards can really make a huge difference if you can stack value on top of value on top of value! If you find the right FHR booking, it can really elevate your stay!

    great video stan! neat to see how people voted!
    Question: i just got a pre-approval on my amex account for the business platinum for 150k MR on $15k spend. Thank thats a decent offer? on other browsers ive seen offers as high as 200k but those require $20k spend in only 3 mths, was is a bit too much for my comfort level. But i think i could comfortably swing $15k in 3 months. Plus that lounge access would come in clutch for a family trip to europe ive got planned in the fall.
    should i pull the trigger?

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  2 дні тому

      Thanks Doc! Yeah, so for your situation, I would look very carefully at the 'Offer Details' on your 150k MR for $15k spend. It is highly likely that this is a targeted no lifetime language offer, and if it is, I think going with that one is the best way to go! In both situations, you're earning 10MRs per $1 spent so it just comes down to how much you can spend in the alotted time frame (3 months). With an NLL offer, you can have the opportunity to apply for this card again the future! I only bring it up because that's how I got (both) of my NLL offers on my Business Platinum cards is through a pre-approval on my amex account.

    Currently rocking the C1 duo. It all might depend on everyone's spend, but my usual monthly spend is almost exclusively covered by The Savor One. In my use case, Chase would not be effective for the multipliers, so I decided to not care for the 5/24 rule and am now aiming to acquire the WF trifecta. The Autograph hits so many categories and with the new Attune card (when paired with the Autograph) might just out do the C1 duo for my typical spend

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  3 дні тому

      That’s an interesting situation to be in! Thats awesome that you found the setup that works for you and that Chase 5/24 no longer matters compared to completing your WF setup! Having both the C1 duo and the WF cards is going to be very powerful and with the C1S1 you have groceries covered which is the one missing category on WF cards.

    Chase, Citi, and Wells Fargo definitely have the best card setups! Wells and Citi are definitely competing well with Chase. Chase definitely lacks gas stations as a category on the CSP. Chase should add gas as a 3% category to the CSP and maybe as.a 4% category on the CSR to compete better with Citi, Wells Fargo. The CSP and CSR should also have gas stations at an elevated rate because nearly all hotel cards have gas as an elevated category. Wells just needs to add better transfer partners. Citi just about has things right.

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  3 дні тому

      Yeah, each one of these ecosystems have their pros and cons, but it's nice to see the competition! As each issuer fine-tunes their cards (except Chase it seems, haha), hopefully consumers will go to the better card, forcing the others to innovate! I agree, Chase needs a gas category at the very least since WF has one. Only Citi has that elusive grocery category!

    The Chase Aeroplan Card has groceries and restaurants plus bonus points on transferring UR points to Aeroplan. I know it’s not a trifecta card but I think it’s too often overlooked. I’d have the card myself but 5/24 is a bad thing for me.

    • @L-Man-Gaming
      @L-Man-Gaming 4 дні тому

      Yes but for 1.5 percent more on groceries and 10 percent extra to lock yourself into Aeroplan is never going to be worth it. It’s a churn and get rid after a year card unfortunately.

    • @krs1905
      @krs1905 4 дні тому

      @@L-Man-Gaming they offer pay yourself back too. Some status benefits. You do have to want to use the Aeroplan system.

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  4 дні тому

      Yeah, I covered this card in the full live stream! Definitely a viable option if you want 3X on groceries on a Chase card, although those points are locked in the Aeroplan system. PYB is also a good choice as you mentioned. I think that as long as you think you'll be redeeming with Aeroplan, that card is a pretty solid contender!

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  4 дні тому

      @@L-Man-Gaming It depends on the situation, but I can see your point. There are a lot of other cards out there that could be better - but if you use Aeroplan a lot, this could be a nice compromise at a lower AF price point. I need to math it out though to see what the difference would be compared to the Amex Gold card though.

  • @arnold6530
    @arnold6530 3 дні тому

    I think people truly do follow a hive mind. WF and C1 are the best ecosystems for everyday spend. You could even do the WF quadfecta and still come up on top. The autograph journey for 5x on hotels 4x on airfare 3x all other travel. The autograph for 3x on dining, phone plans, and gas. Attune for 4x back on entertainment and a million other categories and 2% back on everything else is an amazing setup. Even with no dedicated grocery category it’s still great. They’re already better and cheaper than Chase with an effective AF $45 and covers wayyy more spend. If they added groceries they’d have the best ecosystem hands down. Let them add a card that gives at least 10 lounge visits too and oh boy.

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  3 дні тому +1

      Yeah, I'm really impressed with the coverage on the Wells Fargo setup tbh. I know they've had their issues in the past, but they're making great strides in their credit card lineup. It would be insane if they somehow were able to add groceries to their setup, or even a luxury travel credit card as you mentioned! That would be incredible, and change the game up for sure.

    I knew I’d regret not being able to watch that live…alas…family. Anyway, Wells doesn’t deserve the hate for this long. But if they launch a Card that’s Grocery/Dining at 4x uncapped and no foreign Transaction fee for say…$250 Annual Fee, the Smoke would clear.
