I am so touched by the morals and encouragement your parents gave you. Their parenting style helped create such a humble, gentle woman, who works hard to learn and grow. If you ever have kids, you will be such a wonderful mother ❤🌷
I agree with Nita. What a terrific job your parents did, AND what a great job you are doing to continue those wonderful traits as well as being an example for others as you make your own life. ❤️
I was a biology major but then when I started reading more I fell in love with it and i switched to English/ Literature major and I couldn’t be happier. I feel so connected with so many people and I feel like I’ve found where I truly belong and your channel brings me so much joy and inspiration.
Personally, I adore your soliloquy’s, I love hearing your stories. Your eyes light up when you’re passionate about something and I could listen to you all day! Never convince yourself to stop rambling please ❤
I'm pretty sure we all love your rambles so please don't shorten your videos 🙈🤣 make them longer instead!! I loved getting to know you a bit better through this Q&A your such an inspiration and I love your vibes 🥰
Don’t feel to weird talking about yourself :) we love your presence and honestly I would love to know more about you personally beyond bookish things, so this video is great💗
Rooting for you Carolyn! Cannot wait to hear your story and writing! 🥰
Your red rabbit painting is completely beautiful. You’re very talented.
Marissa Tomei was very good in that - I think she won an Oscar for it.
we appreciate you too! all the work you put into the amazing content
Congrats on getting more followers! Very much deserved! You are so talented and this was such a joy and cozy thing to watch 🖤🙌
Can't wait to read your book!
Congratulations Carolyn!!! I'm so happy for you!❤ I loved that kind of video!
It’s so lovely to have a video just learning about you. Three things about me: I’m an Aries (21st March being my birthday). I was born in Sydney, Australia but have lived in the UK for most of my life.
I work as Assistant Stage Manager in theatre (meaning I look after the backstage area during shows, source and maintain props, and do cues e.g. move set in scene changes).
Petite Carolyn at the sea shore is so cute
You deserve every bit of support you get from me and everyone else. You’re so genuine and wholesome that you always put a smile on my face even when I have a bad day. Thank you so much for everything you do for me!
I discovered your channel thanks to Emmie's and now I'm a regular viewer! It was lovely to get to know you better❤️ love from Argentina and have a nice weekend xx
three facts about me:
1. I collect frogs, sadly not real frogs because my mum is scared of them hehe
2. Christmas is my favourite holiday
3. I'm gomma get "tested" for autism
😊❤
CarolynMarieReads Thanks Much ! 50 Thousand Times!
So nice to learn more about you! You've inspired me to read more classics and create my own booktube channel so I thank you for that 🥰
Hi! Thanks for opening up about your reading struggles as a child. I was a child that was also taken out of class to get extra help for what they saw as “falling behind”. I wish I had liked reading in Elementary school but found that so much negativity surrounded it that I pushed back for many years. Thank good both you and I have found our wings and can now show those teachers that we all will fly in our own time. Stay uniquely you! Cheers!
hi carolyn ! im a new viewer but i´ve been binge-watching your vids for the last two weeks, im an industrial engineering student and currently learning french and i would love some french lit recommendations. also, i personally love your longer vids ! makes me feel like we are on a facetime call keeping each other company. thank you for all you do ! keep up the good work this year
We're gonna need to hear this Marisa Tomei impression. 100k subs, make it happen!
Totally agree! We must have the Marisa Tomei impression.
Such a calming voice and sweet person as far as I know 💓😊
Congrats on 50K 👍
I so very much enjoyed this getting to know you better video. I was laughing out loud when you described your Italian family. I too am from a loud Italian/American family. And yes, I have a cousin Vinny also…😂 doesn’t every Italian American family?
I still love reading children’s literature, even though I am much older than you. I am absolutely sure you will write and illustrate a beautiful book one day, and I will gladly buy it. ❤️
Thank you for sharing so much about yourself! You have such a genuinely lovely energy that makes your “soliloquies” interesting and all your videos so much fun to watch.
I needed this. Currently waiting at the doctor while I watch this ❤
Best of luck! Hope all is well 😌💕
@@CarolynMarieReads Please,speak about lady godiva.
Yes, a nude picture of her and a story
What a wonderful gift you give the world, Carolyn & what a privilege it is for us to help support someone who is so talented and dedicated! Thank you for all the joy and inspiration you give to us!
I love, love, love, Regarding Henry! Saw it on the big screen when it was released. What a poignant movie! Great taste, Carolyn!! One of my other favorite movies is Never Let Me Go with Clark Gable & Gene Tierney (made in the 50s & filmed in England).
Congratulations on the now 55k subscribers carolyn! i tooka break from anything booktube last month because i had uni exams and essays to work on so i'm slowly catching up with all the content!
loved learning a bit more about you, i can relate a lot to my brain never shutting up hhahah
This video is just what I needed after approximately one month following you! Love your content sm🥰 and same with cookies 😍
Amazing! Ah yes, cookies are the best! 🍪😂
Hi Carolyn! You are such a lovely young lady. I think your video length is just fine. I could listen to you talk about literature all day. One of my favorite videos you have done is about annotating. It was so inspiring. I really enjoy annotating my books. Thank you for sharing your love of reading and art with us. It is a blessing to see young people have a passion for literature. God bless you!
Hy, Carolyn congratulations, and I love you and your videos so much. You seem such a down-to-earth person to me, and your videos are such a comfort to my soul. Be what you're, be at its best. Take care
Hi Carolyn!
I’m not someone who normally comments on videos, but I am a regular viewer and I always look forward to your content. I just wanted to say that I felt so inspired and reassured by your response to the writing question - I wrote a very long fantasy novel during lockdown (my first writing effort, barring a few poems) and when it was rejected by the agents I sent it to, I felt very discouraged. I also spent a long time questioning if I was good enough! About a year ago I went back to the drawing board and came up with a new idea (not fantasy), but have had a lot of false starts so far. I was considering abandoning the project, but hearing about your experience really encourages me to keep going! I would really love to hear updates about your book as you go, if you choose to share, and I can’t wait to read it when it’s finished! Lots of love from a fellow petite curly haired girl 😊
P.S. I just started Anna Karenina for the first time!
You have the most calming presence and way of speaking, and your taste in books is impeccable🤌So glad I found your channel!
Omg I LOVE Regarding Henry! It’s one of the movies I remember my dad showing me as a kid
Greetings from Ireland. Loved listening to your soliloquy while walking the dog this morning. Don't ever shut up.
I recently read the little prince and loved it !
Hi Carolyn! Congrats on 50k! I'm so glad I found you and your channel this past year, I feel like you and I are very similar and would really get along irl 🧡thank you for your videos, and your sweet and kind soul✨also, if you want to learn Italian I would love to help 🥰 huge hugs from Italy xx
From Seattle,Wa. I've been following you for about 2 weeks. I very much enjoy your videos. Take Care!
Great video. I may not comment much but, I have been watching your work long before you got to this milestone so it is great to know I was here before you got UA-cam famous LOL. So three facts about myself. I have been a content creator for going on 12 years now with two channels. One on popular culture (12 years running) and the other on comics and manga (started in 2021 with 3 fellow booktubers and a good friend). I recently became a daddy to a beautiful baby girl (8 months old now and already loves books) One of our fellow content creators is now one of my best friends and our family dentist.
Congratulations!!!!🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations on reaching 50,000!
so fun to hear about little carolyn the artist!
* i finished AK for the first time. oh how i would love to chat with you over coffee about that book!
I love the movie Regarding Henry! I first watched it shortly after it came out because Harrison Ford was in it, and he has been my favorite actor for years. It made me sob, which was impressive since I was a 13yo boy at the time lol
I absolutely love your red rabbit ! It is stunning 🐰
I'm so happy that I found your channel through your videos with Emma. You two are both similarly adorable and admirable. I love how you talked about your loud, Italian family. As someone with a partially Romanian family, I can entirely relate. I was and still am the quiet person in the room most of the time. Always have been living more inside my own head than outside of it, with all the blessings and curses that come from that. That is to say: I hear you 💜
Three facts about me:
- I come from a family of doctors (medically speaking), but am myself a historian/studying history. For a long time, I've been a person who's interested in so many different things: Languages, literature, art, movies, philosophy, psychology, etc. And I feel like as a historian one can explore pretty much anything one wants to explore.
- I really love tickling. Both getting tickled and tickling others, but mainly the latter. I think it's a super fun and playful way to show affection (consensually of course) to your loved ones, while also being just ever so slightly teasing and sadistic, haha. Which is also why your dad joke in that one video made me very happy 😂
- One of my all time favorite movies is called "The Limit of Sleeping Beauty". It's a Japanese film, that I was able to see at a film festival, when I helped them out. It was one of the most magical theater experiences I've had and I have not been able to find the film on any medium since. It was really a case of seeing a small movie that will never get a release here in Germany possibly only this once, which makes it all the more dear to me.
You are just an absolute delight
Big congrats!! i don't use instagram as much so i didn't see you posted this, anyway happy for you
Thank you so much! 😊
Reading to me is escapism also. Escape into so many other worlds, nothing I love more! ❤
I used to flip around on my bed over night too! I was so confused when I woke up. I'm going to go look up that "Imagine you're a deer" scene now.
Omg you read my question ahhhh (the marriage one) 😂😂
Ok so three randos abt me are that
1. When I was young I used to sleep with the cover over my head and people used to question if I could breathe or not (I remembered this when u mentioned your weird sleeping habit)
2. I'd love to become a fashion designer and make vintage and 1890s inspired fashion 🥰
3. Narnia is my absolute favorite movie, the costumes and the cinematography are amazing and is one of the oldest movies I remember watching
Regarding Henry is one of my favorite movies too!!! Only me and my mom know about it from my circle. ❤❤
we absolutely love and enjoy your soliloquies
I can't believe you mentioned Regarding Henry and My Cousin Vinny! Those are two of me and my family favourite movies since I was a child, so I grew up watching them all the time. Nobody talks about them, specially Regarding Henry, so I think it's amazing you love them too!
yup! boomer here!
as a little kid I also wanted to be a marine biologist, and I live in south Florida so the beach was very prevalent in my life. anyway you saying you wanted to be a marine biologist just reminded me and made me smile a bit :)
same (staten island)
What you said about waking up as a child on the foot of your bed… same! I never knew how I did that, and I never met anyone that did that too! 😮❤
👍Regarding Henry👍 great, great, great movie!!! Love it!
I can honestly say - I used to do kickboxing and it was the most fun and best workout I’ve ever done. I never had any desire to compete, but the classes were great, you should definitely try it out
Do you think you would ever “recreate” the red rabbit for your Etsy? ❤️ Loved getting to know you more!
I'm older so Regarding Henry was a big movie when I was younger, thanks for reminding me of this one. It has been quite a few years since I've watched it, will put it on the next movie night watch list 🙂
A thought to try for a kickboxing related workout is Piloxing. It's a mix of boxing, pilates, and ballet
wow!! that sounds amazing!
I know this is a book channel, but I'd love an every day makeup tutorial from you! How do you do your lovely makeup every day? Love it.
Yay! I'm one of the subscribers between 50-54k, and plan on staying 🙂 Currently playing catch up and reading anna karenina. Sounds like a future video: Carolyn styles emma's hair 😆
Hello, Carolyn Marie. Thanks for sharing a bit more about yourself. Just a basic question (if I may): how old are you? I think a big reason a lot of us get stuck in our writing is that we worry about not being good enough for a large audience. I try to write for myself, and if there are a few others who enjoy, or are willing to read what I've written, that gives me great satisfaction.
Finding a way into a story, a way to tell it, the right people, setting, atmosphere, and voice is perhaps the key thing, and among the most difficult parts of writing fiction. Brava for persevering. You'll go great, I'm sure, given how you present yourself on your channel, and all the literature you've absorbed. Can't wait to see it someday.
You're the best YOU, and that's what to focus on. Be yourself. Write what you want, how you want, as yourself. In your own voice. No one else is Neil Gaiman but him. But no one else is Carolyn Marie, either. Remember that and write ferociously.
Now encourage Emma to write some fiction, too. LOL
Hello Carolyn, I love your videos and I disagree that you ramble, if you do, I love to hear it. I look forward to each of your videos and am always sad when I finish one and then have to wait for the next one! Facts about me. 1. I reside in Australia, and we are hot and dry at the moment, as it's our Summer. 2. I work at a tertiary/university library. I am behind the scenes. My department processes all the materials students/staff need to complete their studies i.e., textbooks, ebooks/ejournals, print journals, books etc . . . 3. I completed Ass. Dip. Library & Information Sciences, Diploma in Publishing & Editing, Certificate/s courses in Publishing, Editing, Copywriting and Proofreading and a Correspondence Course Certificate (many years ago now) in American Patchwork and Quilting.
Most of my courses have been completed for my personal enjoyment and development. For my love of books and crafts, I love reading and writing, I piece patchwork projects and quilting, I also love crocheting, cross stitching and embroidery. So I like to extend myself to taking courses in these areas to develop new skills and understanding.
Perhaps this is why I enjoy booktubers, UA-cam videos on painting and other crafts, these all call to me. I enjoy reclining and watching these to relax and learn what others amazingly do as well!
Hi Carolyn 👋 I’m so glad I discovered your channel ❤ your videos bring me so much joy. I’m curious to know what part of the world you live in? I’m watching from across the pond in London UK 🇬🇧 😘
Regarding Henry - A very successful Manhattan lawyer must adapt to a new life after a brutal accident redefines his familial structure.
Red rabbit - 💓 so beautiful
Hi Carolyn! I have a random question. Do you have any tips on how to learn to draw? Since I was a kid (I’m 20 now) I always wanted to learn but I never thought I could do it and just quit.
Love your videos 🥰
I love that your friend called your “rambles” soliloquies. Ramble, at least to me, seems to have a negative connotation that you’re taking too much time on a subject and not saying much when in fact you’re saying so much (in a good way). I always get confused when you say you’ve been rambling because to me you’re just talking passionately about something lol. So yes. Soliloquies is more fitting 😊
Hello lovely Carolyn,
My 3 facts are: I can play 7 instruments, I am currently in grad school at USC for entertainment management, and I’ve been watching UA-cam since 2007!
Keep up the amazing work!
7?!? holy moley
that's outstanding!!
Hi!!Love ur work😊
Do u have a video covering In Search Of Lost Time?
Doing them all.
You were shirtless to prevent paint stains on your clothes. When my kids were little I always stripped them to just shorts for art projects. Makes life easier on parents
It took me way too long to learn that you also went to FIT!! Did you ever have Sara Freeman for any english classes? That woman changed my life lol
I think that's a super encouraging story to hear about your relationship with reading; others will feel inspired by that!
Three facts about me:
1. I am also petite; I was born at 27 weeks, was less than two pounds and am now 5'1".
2. My five books would be "Harold & Maude" by Colin Higgins (it's also my favorite movie), "The Little Prince," "The Book Thief," "East of Eden" (which I also refuse to stop talking about, you're welcome!) and "Franny and Zooey" by J.D. Salinger.
3. My beloved creative project is my podcast EnTrench, which is a spiritual song-by-song analysis of Twenty One Pilots! ||-//
💛-Annah
Have you ever watched The Cottage Fairy? Both of you are very similar in your presentations, and styles both channels are amazing.
Seeing how one of your favorite movies is, Dead Poet's Society, I was wondering if you'd read the book. Apparently the author took some license and added additional events which are quite disturbing.
I am a relatively new subscriber, and am enjoying your channel greatly and was just wondering your age. Thank you for your enthusiasm
a few more questions... coffee or tea, hardcover vs softcover books?
Beautiful person and personality. Wish i could talk with you:)
first!
totally relate to the whole "comparing your art to better artists" thing, it's a bummer! also didn't expect a Regarding Henry mention in here haha
You would like to do kickboxing and you want to know why your feet were at the other end of the bed????My eldest sister was surprised to learn how unquiet I was at school during my teenage years.😁❤️
I am writing a book and it's a bit like growing a tree, lots of branches and things shoot off
You are the real-life Rory from Gilmore Girls 😁
I hope she's more moral than that. Rory had a sad character arc.
Hopefully this isn’t rude to ask but do you have any possible titles for what you’d like to write?
Have you read Cormac McCarthy’s new novels? And what is your opinion on him in general? Lol just curious never heard you mention him. I think he is the single greatest living author. Don’t get me wrong, Pynchon and Delillo and Houellbecq are fantastic, but there is something so raw and true about McCarthy.
Is your sister older or younger than you? Is the Atlantic Ocean cold around Long Island? I grew up in Oregon and Washington, and the Pacific Ocean is so cold, so I was shocked to experience a warm Ocean in Florida when I visited.
Are you in / went to university?
Good luck with the book!
Yes, I went to The Fashion Institute of Technology and got a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Illustration and an English minor in Writing :)
@@CarolynMarieReads Very cool!
I am a senior at UConn, and study neuroscience, just love to read/write too
I took Marine Biology in High School and it was all math, no fish. Such a disappointment. I was much happier in Environmental Biology. At least we got to go outside.
"You put your little deer lips to the cold, clear water and BAM! They blow your ****ing head off" 😁
Actually I'm so glad met this channel, like for your sharing about books and literate. Regards, from Indonesia ☺
Yes, your russian pronouncination of Eugene is perfect! 👌
"Regarding Henry" got really bad reviews when it came out. People thought it trivialized brain injury.
vini vinesauce is ur cousin?
your boyfriend is a lucky little fellow
You had no shirt on because your mom didn't want to clean the paint that would inevitably fall on it 😂
Please don’t shorten the length of your rambles Carolyn! 😊
short video is a good suggestion, 40min is too long 🤣😵💫
Carolyn, you are pretty 🤎💓👩🦱
