My favourite pie has to be cherry, apple pie is good but I perfer cherry as it's a smooth inside and that contrasts well with the pastry, also when it's hot it's the best!

Haven't had cheddar with apple pie yet. I like to go apple picking every year too just before Canadian Thankgiving to bake my own apple pies for it.
