The original tripy slide sound of sneeky pete, what an inovator, thanks for the clip.
I was lucky enough to be at the recording of the group's video in Nashville and it was wonderful. The band was great, the guys are so gracious and such amazing musicians. I've known Carlton for more years than I like to admit (he was my guitar teacher) and remains a good friend.
For what it's worth, I think folks were so mesmerized with this clip, they forgot completely to rate it. I almost did. Thanks for posting.
So cool ! Thankyou for uploading this , it’s great !!
Loved sneaky pete's work with art clokey on gumby......most people dont know that pete was a famous animator in addition to being a world class steel player
Ahh; you take me back to a time and place I have not thought of in a very long time....replay.
That's why I like Sneakys style, he wasn't a cookie cutter picker. Wonderful stuff
If he could be on a Zappa album he must be one of a kind. Maybe a
One Shot Deal.
I’ve always liked Sneakys style. I keep looking for songs on here he’s playing on. Especially whith Gib.
Great little doc. This is a very good lineup.
Great musicians but you should mention Gram and Chris.
The band was originally formed and named as an homage to Pete and his days with the FBB's. Garth was a special guest on the first album and later became a permanent member of the band although he was only on the one record he did tour with the band.
I'm glad I could be part of your journey!
Sneeky pete had the only tripy slide sound that i now of?
"Dare" ? FBB music is not sacred writ. Anyone who ever sang and interpreted a Beatles song or Sinatra song "dares" to do it. All of folk and jazz and classical music is re-interpreted constantly by succeeding artists. Ian Dunlop and Mickey Gauvin formed the original FBB (naming it after Gram) Gram and Chris Hillman were the core, Sneaky Pete, Bernie Leadon Chris Etheridge Randy Miesner and later Rick Roberts made major contributions. Gram was an unreliable alcohol & drug abuser, who got fired from the band at least a couple of times. In the ensuing years, there have ben a few bands that inherited the moniker FBB but none could hold a candle to the Parsons/Hillman crew.
How dare you try to recreate the magic of fbb to this...
GRAM PARSONS IS THE FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS...I LOVE SNEAKY PETE...BUT THIS DOC IS ALL CRAP!!! AND DARE TO DO HICKORY WIND...GIVE ME A BREAK......
Chris Hillman co-wrote many of the hits with Gram. Chris Ethridge made valuable contributions to Hot burrito and Sneeky's pedal steel playing adds a lot to the album. The FBB were more collaborative than you think. The only song Gram has a solo writing credit on is Lazy Days.
Oh so pete was supposed to never play after gram parson died.....people wanted to hear his stuff who are you to judge? What it's crap cause you're too cool to like it? I thought that it sounded pretty great myself......pete was a great player and any band that featured his playing were at the very least great
Don't like Carlton Moody at all. At all.
