Here's some spicy Hinata tech: Giving our opponents 1/1 spirits with Forbidden Orchard = more things for us to target. Relevant for a few of our spells and increases the mana value for the cards that care about it. The mana fixing's nice too. Mavinda, Student's Advocate lets us flashback our instant and sorcery cards. All of our spells target, so target something inconsequential on our board to remove the 8 mana tax.
I don't know if you can edit UA-cam video titles post-release, but just a heads up that the title of the video should read: Hinata, Dawn-Crowned (right now it says Down-Crowned). Might mess up your analytics with people searching by the card name exactly not seeing your video! Cheers, I'm excited to save up for this build!
Yeah, this is what I'd like to use, Jeskai to me is very difficult to balance and enjoy the playstyle. If my dragons approach route doesnt pan out, I may give this control route a trial. maybe adding in Toralf, God of Fury to trample some excess damage on creatures onto players. I planed it early this year and now build it to play end of october. My Playgroups average Powerlevel is that high, i don't feel to ask them if Hinata is okay... XD
Fun story about how I accidentally built competitive Hinata. TL;DR: drugs are bad, m'kay? I was doing some math(as all the best red players do) and found that {crackle with power} with X=8 would deal 40 damage, "that's great, I can make crap tons of mana, and burninate every enemy for lethal in one spell!" So I looked for commanders that either reduced cost or had the colors to build a gigantic mana base. "Rakdos or mardu," I thought, "that way I can do shenanigans with crypt ghast and urborg" but then I saw Hinata. It didn't fall into place immediately, I didn't want to control the board, just light it on fire. But then I saw comet storm, X and 2 red for X damage to any number of targets; and then heliods intervention, destroy each artifact and enchantment rhat I don't control. I didn't even think about what I was doing when I put SUBLIME EPIPHANY in thinking "so many targets!" I put in things like muddle the mixture and solve the equation JUST to search out crackle with power but then added shatterskull smashing and curse of swine. "Just in case the board is a bit to scary and I don't have the 18 total mana to cast CwP X=8". I actually have distorting wake and archaeomancer in the deck but in the ~10 games I've played with it it never once crossed my mind they were loopable, I just put archaeomancer and ardent in there so they could recover one of my burn spells, then sit around doing nothing waiting to be an extra target if need be. The worst part is, it's the most fun I've had playing burn in a LONG time. Turn 2 or 3 kills are next to impossible in commander and mono color decks are inherently weaker I think because they lose flexibility, hinata allows just the right amount of speed(read; a lot)without the hassle of ramping and clogging my mana base. White for midrange value and equalizing effects(gift of estates) and blue is there as a recovery tool. Moral of the story is: Drugs are bad, and I'm a Johnny.
No it needs targets to be discounted. Since the lifegain mode doesn’t target it doesn’t get cheap. It WILL let you destroy all artifacts and enchantments for WW
Does Hinata reduce Cyclonic Rift's overload cost as well? i know it replaces the word target with each when you overload, but its still technically targeting everything but your permanents
You brought up Shark Typhoon and though its a decent card it operates on CMC, not mana value which won't count the inflated value of your X drops making it a much weaker option. Since there are ways to generate bigger tokens consistently from other sources like Deekah and Metallurgic Summonings among other things, I would probably drop it for something else, maybe Anointed Procession.

Make non-legendary copies of Hinata to make things like, auralias fury, comment storm, and crackling doom to hit for harder damage.
