@@aldoaldi2613 I am not a doctor, however I believe it can as it looks for abnormalities. My doctor did a barium swallow test in conjunction with a complete abdominal ultrasound. I think it is possible that it can be detected using the barium swallow not the ultrasound.

Yup. I had sore throat and GERD. My general physician ordered this test because I been having reflux since December 2019. I got an endoscopy done on October 13 2021, the gastroenterologist stated I had a "small hiatal hernia" On April 14 2022 my primary physician ordered an esophageal motility and impedance test. This test stated I do NOT have a Hiatal hernia. On August 29 2022, my primary physician ordered this exact barium test to rule out the hiatal hernia. The X-Ray Doctor did not see any obstruction on my diaphragm or any lessions. Meaning, my stomach looked exactly the same way as the test result you see in this video. No hiatal hernia was found in the barium test. Now, I got a new endoscopy done on September 16 2022, my new gastroenterologist only found mild esophagitis, irregular Z-line at the esophageal gastric junction. I assume this is due to constant reflux has damaged my esophagus. No hiatal hernia was found on my second endoscopy. So THREE tests ruled out I don't have a Hiatal hernia. But my tests DO rule out GERD/reflux. So my final step is to rule out the cause of my reflux. It can be because of PH imbalance in my stomach acid, or perhaps o have low stomach acid. These problems prevent the esophageal sphincter to not close completely, allowing GERD and reflux to occur.
Tina Marie, hey, I’m getting one done tomorrow cause I keep feeling like I have something stuck in my esophagus! Did they give you the results right away??
flimflam Hey! So I had it done, and thank God nothing was seen except for a little bit of gastritis which I already knew I had. I no longer have that feeling Thank God!!! But every so often it does feel like it wants to start again! 😩....how are you?
@@samarygibson7783 Well that's good! Happy for you! I've had the lump in throat feeling for months now and it won't go away. So annoying!! Did you do anything special to treat it?
Fantastic video
Do you happen to have a video of barium test that demonstrates a patient with a hiatal hernia?
Thank you both so much.
This is great. I had this done this morning. I should have watched this before hand I was nervous.

@@dmguk9931 The procedure itself is not bad at all. Very quick and just a little uncomfortable. I would not be nervous to do it again.
How acurate is this..and does it dettect stomach cancer?

Is this as detailed as a endoscopy ?
It is not. They cant tell the difference between irritation and pre-cancer cells, among other things.
I have trouble swallowing can it pick up on that
