Hi Jill , You have come a long way with your new property , you can feel the love and care that you are adding every day... Always a pleasure to visit your very beautiful , sweet self and the rest of your family. Keep well .... Amen
Thank you for this good info on tomatoes, Jill! I love how you actually show how you do things instead of just talking about how you do things. You’re a really good teacher!
Thanks for all your videos. Never to old to learn new things(70 yrs. Young) was raised on a farm that we (8 of us) had to make a living off of. Long days & tractor lights, besides all the farm animals, gathering veggies to sale , can , & just survival mode! We made it!!!! 🤪Today I cherish all my grandparents & Mom & dad that taught us these skills! Thank you for all you do & share with us & I pray God blesses you abundantly!!!
This is my first year using this method on my tomatoes and so far I am blown away by the results! Thank you as always for sharing this content. I didn't trellis my peppers or eggplant this way because I didn't think about it but I'm so glad that I watched your vlog. As always, you're always teaching me something new. God Bless!
Thank you for the reminder about pruning the tomatoes!! I have 3 porch-size cherry tomatoes in pots on my Front Porch, & they're getting "tall enough"!! I need them to "branch out" now & put their energy into fruiting!!
Excellent info Jill thank you so very very much. Oh and by the way you looked amazing today👍🏼😃. Now you look really good in every video! But it was really nice to get to see how gorgeous your hair is. OK I’m an old Nana so it’s good to see some naturally beautiful hair lol😝.
Good to see someone who is still putting in the work. Farm looks like it's better maintained than previously. But omg girl, can I send you some hair ties? Lol
Jill, Seeing Your high tunnel tomato trellis with the jute gave me idea for my green-stalk planter how to support the tomato plant from above and still be able to rotate the Greenstalk planter. It’s working. Thanks for the Inspiration.
I’ve been using cattle panels for a few years. I use clips which I can take off and reuse them for a few years before they start to break down. Blessings y’all 🙏🏻
Thank you for showing this! I am in Missouri and garden on half an acre in town but have planted 70 tomatoes in ground and trellised on cattle panels. I do plan to plant the rest in my 40ft raised beds down the middle and trellis this way!! I just ordered my jute twine so this video has prepared me lol thanks Jill! -Justine
Great information, one thing I would like for you to touch on how much you have your drips system set up on each type of plants and how often you feed them , etc. Thanks.
Hey, Jill! Really enjoy hearing about your trellising system, as well as what's going on with your farm in your other videos, like with zinnias. Wanted to mention one thing, with love for all you do. You have gorgeous hair! You do seem to play and fuss with it a lot, maybe out of habit or nervousness? Anyway, it does become a distraction from what you're saying. It's so lovely and flipping around in the screen it's easy to watch your hair and lose sight of what you're focused on, like tomato trellising. I hope you take this observation in the spirit in which it's intended--not as criticism, not as pick-you-apart, but as hoping to help you improve your vlog. Many blessings to you and your family:-).
Thanks for that demonstration..I have small plants and can get by the the standard tomatoes cages ..we are getting plenty of fruit ..this is my first successful year on tomatoes 🍅…it exciting for me ..I’m pretty good with all kinds of peppers .onions and this year I have a sugar baby watermelon 🍉
Hi Jill, thank you for the indepth demo on this trellis system. It's a system anyone can do. Your two leader pruning technic is working as planned. Veggies are up off the ground and plenty of air flow. Awesome job.
One way to secure plants to trellises or whatever is nylon strips. Just while watching tv sit, relax and clip strips. It's a way to save money. I 'd love to see your high tunnel plants compared to the ones in raised beds. What makes the difference and how much different. Sweet smile! 😎
Hey Jill, I would like to see an update on those Dahlia cuttings you took a while back. I still have a few to plant and want to try this if its worth doing!
The problem with jute twine is if you have burried it under the plant to anchor it. The soil will be very active and the twine will break down quite quickly.
🙋hi from Scotland hi Jill your tomatoes are looking good here in Scotland I grow mine in a green house up the twine I have done it that way for years we don't get a lot of bugs because we don't get high temperatures but when the sun is shining it gets hot in there hope you and Nathan and the kids are well take care cheers 🍷 from Scotland
I’m only 5 feet tall Last year my tomatoes got 12 feet tall It was hard using a ladder because I grow in a smaller space but I had tons of amazing tomatoes I got some to go back down the trellis once they got to where I was having trouble reaching I like the idea of the umbrella trellis☂️🍅🤗
Some of my tomatoes have tons on tiny brownish looking bugs. I've tried Neem and dust but they are still there. I've been rubbing them off the under leaves. Not sure what they are but ughhh😵😵😵
Any cons to wrapping the tomato plants around the twine like you do the cucs? We wrap ours around and they grow instead of clipping. But wanted to know your thoughts. Thanks for sharing, I love seeing all the trellising ... its an art form. Last year we did this with wrapping the plant around the twine, this year we are doing a combination , added a few cattle panels to see how we like it, and then a good old tomato stake.
@@WhisperingWillowFarm cool! I was worried that I’m some areas the twine is tight, but so far no major damage. Thanks for sharing the clips, I may try these and they are fairly inexpensive too! ♥️
I was told if you put your tomato to close together like that you will cause disease faster? is this not true because yours are all right next to each other and look good?
Great video! And tips! I struggled with what to use for a while as well, BT is still my “nuke” in my arsenal, but I am adapting to JADAM and KNF (Korean natural farming) techniques, REALLY powerful for the farmer, especially with all you grow and do you should check it out, you are producing all you need in your waist and in the natural flora fauna of your area. I think you would enjoy it. Check out Chris trump on UA-cam he has a 700 acre macadamia nut farm that’s all KNF farmed.

Thank you for sharing your lovely story ❤ May God bless you with many more years of growing food
I accidentally bought gardening Velcro last year and saved every piece to use again this year.

Thank you 😊 This video got me to visit my garden and prune plants 🌱 I love the growth after massive heat and rain
Hope your garden is thriving

All the best Jules
Thank you for the positive feedback
Love the peppers!
Yes, thank you for the great information! Love the video!
Jill what is the type of peppers are you growing in the tunnel?? The one you showed with the clips on them.

I put up a stick for the tall tomato plants!
I do grow my tomatoes in an outside garden space!

Hey Mrs. Anne
Looks beautiful! ❤️
Great video Jill!
Great video Jill! Can you tag the original video of when you first started trellising them this year? TX
Love seeing the hands on gardening videos. Also…love the skirt! Where is that from?
Found it thrifting
Any tips on how to do something similar outside?? Like what to tie the twine to?

Best video! Love this
The name you were looking for is Caprese - tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, and a little salt and pepper. Yum!
Question...do you just wack off the tip when they get to the top of the high tunnel?
Some of my tomatoes have tons on tiny brownish looking bugs. I've tried Neem and dust but they are still there. I've been rubbing them off the under leaves. Not sure what they are but ughhh😵😵😵
Take one to your local extension office

No cons to wrapping. Matter of fact that's what we've always done. We decided to try something new in the high tunnel this year

Enjoyed the video
Luv yo videos
Thank you
Hey jill! How long does the plastic last on your high tunnels?
Typically 5-6 years especially if you add shade cloth in the summers
Tomato basil and mozzarella is Caprese💚❤️ 🇮🇹
Hoping the irrigation is going on soon. Those peppers are crying for water!!
If the tomato plants get very tall which I am anticipating, I will pick up another wood trellis!
I was told if you put your tomato to close together like that you will cause disease faster? is this not true because yours are all right next to each other and look good?
I have a chicken wire fence but all of my tomatoes stand up on their own!
Babieee cucumbers!!!!!
😍😍😍
I put a dewormer out in my row of tomatoes!
