It's been some great times.
Having games behind games and games on top of games would drive me absolutely nuts. All of my games stand vertically in a horizontal line, so that I can grab any game without having to move any other games.

You forgot they all need to be in the correct format, all the titles need to facing the correct way with front being the left. Then they all need to be Alpha, Alpha, Alpha till its as perfect as pos.
I agree, stacked on top would drive me mad, not to mention the eventual damage by being squashed. Imagine a library with books stacked like that 😂

You just need a bigger room. The double stacking and vertical stacking would drive me nuts. It's like a storage and not a display I guess.
Johnny just no man. You need to have these vertical you can’t stack them it can damage them and they don’t look as nice. I will organize and set your room for free. If you want pics of mine let me know. I use billy book case as well
Why the need to stack everything vertically? Boxes on the bottom are getting crushed, not to mention it's difficult to pick out a game to play. You do you, though.
Yeah, the collector in me always gets anxiety when I see tall, heavy stacks. I won’t even do it with dvd-style cases in case it gives them dents. Lol
I always think the same, when i look at the shelves in his videos.

Tea&Crumpets Lol indeed. When you need to doublestack you know you have too much stuff. I'm glad my retro collection is all digital, on my Pi. All the space I need is credit card sized.
I did keep 30 of my favorite ps1 games for the sentimental value, but I'm glad I got rid of those bulky crt's

Like most people here I expected everything vertical and in alphabetical order, maybe Nintendo consoles together and Sony consoles together, etc. It looks pretty much the same as before, aside from having every game from the same console together.
At the end of the day it's your room though, it only really matters if you like it.

You stack nearly everything on top of each other, I never do that, I always buy extra shelves and place them next to each other, so it's easier to grab off the shelve.

*I'm so glad you mentioned that this took you YEARS to collect and it's not an overnight thing, and that you really enjoy every single one of those games.*
When I show my collection to people, many want me to just give out games saying things like "can you send me some games" "give me the ones you don't play anymore" "let's share PSN accounts" "oh must be a rich boy that gets everything for free" "why do you need so many games" "get a life" it just frustrates me.
Anyways, thanks for sharing :D I thought you would never even attempt it considering the amount of time it takes to organize a single shelf and because RPG cases tend to weigh a lot lol
Man I can only hope to some day have a collection as majestic as this. Congrats to 10 years dude. Every time I watch one of your videos I'm reminded why I wanna keep up with this hobby.
It feels like you only sorted the room... for the most part, it's all pretty much the same as before. Not saying it's a bad thing, though.

In his defense he stacks them that way because you can fit more on a shelf... sure it looks pretty having them along a shelf.. but stacking them on top of each other means more games on a shelf. I do exactly the same as he does because my collections are big and doing it the other way simply means I would need way more shelves

It doesn't matter how people have set ups .. everyone is different.. I think the way he has his game is fine. As I said my rooms the same I stack games on games because I can fit more that way

It's an amazing collection, but it's a bit of a shame that not all games can be on display, but that's mostly due to the size of the room (I'm in the same boat when it comes to this)
I really enjoyed this video Johnny, I did this myself with all my gaming stuff and Records in my Basement a year or so ago
My wife is like, "I'm starving, I want some breakfast!"

Funny that you got the urge to not only redo your game room but now you post a game room tour shortly after I posted my first game room tour on my channel! It's so true about what you said in regards to the fact that this is a passion over 30 years and when people freak out at collections like this they need to consider that it's decades of gaming they are looking at.
Great tour! It's a great feeling to re-organise everything eh? (oh side note... I used Billy shelves too! LOL)
I would get more shelves for the bookcases. I can’t have games behind games or horizontal mixed with vertical..... but hey, I’m mental. Maybe frame some of the posters with black frames to match the bookcases. Also, breaking up the rows that are full of cases by alternating with emptier rows that display figures or ornaments makes them look less cluttered. It’s all personal preference though.

The man isn't going for perfection, he simply wants to improve on what he already had. Please deal with this fact before you people start complaining.
I think this suits you really well. It's an organized mess compared to the unorganized mess before. You have so much great stuff that I would love to see be properly displayed with the covers facing outward to see but when you have so much and no space you have to make the best of it. This is definitely your style and that's what we like about ya.

The Shelf Elf! Lol comes in your house in the middle of the night to secretly put together a shelf for your games (even if you don't need it lmao!)
There is no right or wrong way to collect, and each game room is different.
Me personaly, Im very organized. I do lack of space because my game room is also my homestudio, but I have everything in alphabetical order ( as you can see on my videos ), by system and my consoles are all dust free ( and I do play my collection ).
Been watching your show pretty much since the beginning, and... although your game room is not what I would like for me, it is your thing :) and you do have an awesome collection. If it suits you, if this is how you feel confortable, do it ,)

I had to pause at around 2:28 because video gaming - in general - started exactly there for me, with that NES cartridge of Super Mario Bros. + Duck Hunt. It was packed in my NES box (the "Action Set" box I believe). I don't have my original NES anymore, nor the cartridge either. So seeing it every time gets to me.
And good job Johnny on organizing as many things as you could, it's good to do that stuff from time to time especially in actual collections (and for the room itself too).

Envious of this collection. Why not buy a few more extra shelves for the Billy bookcase since they’re adjustable? The height of each shelf could be adjusted to match the height of the games for each system.

A little sad and jealous a lot of us will never have what u have and if we get them we probably won't pay what u did. Really happy u mentioned the bookcase shelves u use because i too am in the process of setting up my media tower center and i absolutely hate it since part of the blu ray games stick out and was told bookcases are just better
