just so you know it comes out way cleaner to mount the gauges to the factory gauge holder with the autometer mounting cups.. That way the bezel can be removed without all the gauges and wiring too. It takes more work and fab skills, but it turns out way cleaner. Also the 1 1/16 gauges work better.
Now *that's* how aftermarket gauges are supposed to be installed, where the original gauges were, where you can actually *see* them. Why most people install them down below the dash, where you have to take your eyes off the road to just to see the temperature gauge, or what the battery is doing is doing is beyond my reasoning. No! *That's* not where gauges should go. :)
***** hey your videos are awesome! But I have a quick question. My truck is a 78c10 and I can't figure out which wire is the sending unit for the gas tank on the wiring harness connector on the back of the gauge cluster. Which wire did you use?
+chris munoz Mostly cosmetic changes. The frame and cab remained virtually unchanged through those years. Hoods, fenders, grilles, and the interiors had some changes.
+chris munoz Oh ok... yes, the bezels are different between those years. The wiper switch goes from above the headlight switch to a stalk on the steering column. I think there are some other small changes but I can't think of what they are exactly. But the wiper switch location for sure.

Where can I buy them
Why didn't you just get the whole thing from Autometer in one pop? You can get all the gauges mounted in a new bezel from Autometer..
+Todd Hayslett At the time I built this, that wasn't available.
where did you get a $100 bezel?
LMC Truck

+milkcrate82 I know that but I was talking more particular about the dash gauges cluster and the bezel if there was a difference
