Believe me my African brothers, young people in China are aware, even more so than young western people. We see the Anti-China or Anti-developing country mentality in the west, in the way they report facts in western media, including western officials, politicians, we see that. I myself am of Chinese ancestry by birth, but I live overseas in the west, so I see both sides of the coin here. I may be a little bit more knowledgeable than my fellow countrymen in mainland China especially on western foreign policy, because I see it almost everyday here where I live. Most young folk in China, do get the bigger picture, but, most still do NOT understand certain things about the west. Most young folk in China, are very open natured, kind, respectful people, very open to different cultures, customs etc, but, at the same time, can be at times a bit naive when talking about the west, especially US. See, I've lived in the west a long time, since I was born, so I am more than qualified to speak about how the western foreign policy has wrecked havoc on this world. I do know my own history as well about the west, about colonialism, about how the west ravaged African continent for its rich resources, also about how the British colonised South Africa & the apartheid oppression they subjected the Native South Africans to. I know all about Nelson Mandela, how he was arrested & imprisoned by the British colonisers etc. Also how the French colonised Africa, for black diamonds. To me, Africa & China share a long history of colonisation by the west, that's what brings us together, history, plus mutual respect, mutual trade for development. For years even decades, to me the African continent has been neglected by majority of western former colonisers. What have they done to repent for their past aggressions towards Africa? Giving aid, I.e medical, monetary, peace keeping soldiers? How does that help African countries with their economy & infrastructure? How does giving aid help Africans develop their own economies? It doesn't, in fact it keeps African countries dependent on foreign aid, that's the issue here. So in comes China, offering no strings attached, to help build infrastructure, things that can make a change. Then the west propagandises that China only brings debt to Africa. But hang on a second, majority of those debts roughly about 25% of those debts were created by the International Monetary Fund aka IMF, long before China even began to offer help to Africa in the form of building infrastructure. So the idea that China is colonising Africa, is deeply offensive, incorrect, nothing but western jealously, & slander. How many years has the west only given foreign aid to Africa, before even offering to build infrastructure, even then, the west demands this & that, when all the Africans want is to develop their economies, so they can create jobs for people? For so many damn years, all the west did was send foreign aid to Africa, fooling all their own western poppulation that the west has helped Africa to develop. Complete garbage, its the complete opposite. By giving foreign aid to African countries, you make them dependent on foreign aid, without first trying to help them to help themselves. The west went there, but asked specifically for certain conditions to be met even before the west offered help. So therefore, the west applied Pre-conditions on African countries in order to accept help from the west. China, did NOT apply any such garbage when they went to Africa. All we said was "You need this, we build it for you, in return we want this". This is how trade works. Why is it so hard for western journalists, western leaders, western pundits to accept defeat? China has already beaten them at their own game. When it comes to trade, business, don't mess with China, because we mean business, we do what we say, & mean what we say, there's no bs in what we say. If we say we'll be there tomorrow, we'll be there. We don't break our word for nobody. We don't make promises we can't keep either. So unlike the west, who speaks out of two sides of one mouth, China is very much respected in the global south, because we always keep our word, we do what we say we'll do. Unlike the unpredictable west, who will say one thing, & change their minds in a split second.

Smart & educated Africans generally know what these two gentlemen said, I have first hand experience of that more than a decade ago and some of my best friends were Africans when I was in the UK. Don't confuse black people who were brought up in the Anglo Saxon countries (especially those in the US, you can hardly find great thinkers in the US today like Mohammad Ali or Malcolm X) be the same as these smart & educated Africans. When Africans was dying from Malaria many decades ago, China invented a anti-malaria drug and gave it to Africa even though China was so poor and struggling themselves at that time. Young people in China mostly support the Chinese government. Trading certain individual freedom for the collective cohesion and prosperity of society is a transaction that most of them are willing to take. In comparison, if you look at the US or democratic system, the country is always divided to the point of near civil-war and any changes done by one administration will be undone every 4 years -- and that's IF anything gets done at all and not blocked by the opposition party in congress or the house. When it comes to Africa, China will lend money to African countries with zero involvement on how you spend it or what changes needs to be made to your local governments. That's up for the African people to decide. America, on the other hand, will want to over throw governments that won't play ball with American foreign policy so that they can extract all the resources with the powerful MNC (multi-national companies) and install military bases on African soil in order to better control the population. So you (Africans) decide who you want to work with.

Also I would like to add that in Chinese psyche, we tend to be educated from birth, to be humble, no matter where we are in life, but to strive to become better & better, to better ourselves so we as a country don't experience same experiences we did with the 100+ years of humiliation ever again. Our government invested money in SriLankan and hoped it would make SriLankan people a better life and China also makes some money, however, SriLankan government believed the words of those who are anti-China and stopped the business cooperation with China. Believe me my African brothers, young people in China are aware, even more so than young western people. We see the Anti-China or Anti-developing country mentality in the west, in the way they report facts in western media, including western officials, politicians, we see that. I myself am of Chinese ancestry by birth, but I live overseas in the west, so I see both sides of the coin here.
I may be a little bit more knowledgeable than my fellow countrymen in mainland China especially on western foreign policy, because I see it almost everyday here where I live. Most young folk in China, do get the bigger picture, but, most still do NOT understand certain things about the west. Most young folk in China, are very open natured, kind, respectful people, very open to different cultures, customs etc, but, at the same time, can be at times a bit naive when talking about the west, especially US. See, I've lived in the west a long time, since I was born, so I am more than qualified to speak about how the western foreign policy has wrecked havoc on this world. I do know my own history as well about the west, about colonialism, about how the west ravaged African continent for its rich resources, also about how the British colonised South Africa & the apartheid oppression they subjected the Native South Africans to. I know all about Nelson Mandela, how he was arrested & imprisoned by the British colonisers etc. Also how the French colonised Africa, for black diamonds. To me, Africa & China share a long history of colonisation by the west, that's what brings us together, history, plus mutual respect, mutual trade for development. For years even decades, to me the African continent has been neglected by majority of western former colonisers. What have they done to repent for their past aggressions towards Africa?
Giving aid, I.e medical, monetary, peace keeping soldiers? How does that help African countries with their economy & infrastructure? How does giving aid help Africans develop their own economies? It doesn't, in fact it keeps African countries dependent on foreign aid, that's the issue here. So in comes China, offering no strings attached, to help build infrastructure, things that can make a change. Then the west propagandises that China only brings debt to Africa. But hang on a second, majority of those debts roughly about 25% of those debts were created by the International Monetary Fund aka IMF, long before China even began to offer help to Africa in the form of building infrastructure. So the idea that China is colonising Africa, is deeply offensive, incorrect, nothing but western jealously, & slander. How many years has the west only given foreign aid to Africa, before even offering to build infrastructure, even then, the west demands this & that, when all the Africans want is to develop their economies, so they can create jobs for people? For so many damn years, all the west did was send foreign aid to Africa, fooling all their own western poppulation that the west has helped Africa to develop. Complete garbage, its the complete opposite. By giving foreign aid to African countries, you make them dependent on foreign aid, without first trying to help them to help themselves. The west went there, but asked specifically for certain conditions to be met even before the west offered help. So therefore, the west applied Pre-conditions on African countries in order to accept help from the west.
China, did NOT apply any such garbage when they went to Africa. All we said was "You need this, we build it for you, in return we want this". This is how trade works. Why is it so hard for western journalists, western leaders, western pundits to accept defeat? China has already beaten them at their own game.
When it comes to trade, business, don't mess with China, because we mean business, we do what we say, & mean what we say, there's no bs in what we say. If we say we'll be there tomorrow, we'll be there. We don't break our word for nobody. We don't make promises we can't keep either.
So unlike the west, who speaks out of two sides of one mouth, China is very much respected in the global south, because we always keep our word, we do what we say we'll do. Unlike the unpredictable west, who will say one thing, & change their minds in a split second.

Smart & educated Africans generally know what these two gentlemen said, I have first hand experience of that more than a decade ago and some of my best friends were Africans when I was in the UK. Don't confuse black people who were brought up in the Anglo Saxon countries (especially those in the US, you can hardly find great thinkers in the US today like Mohammad Ali or Malcolm X) be the same as these smart & educated Africans. When i was in China in the early ‘80s, I was so impressed to see African students studying in Chinese Universities. They told me they were given free tuitions by the Chinese govt. they were studying medicine,they learned to study in Chinese language. So China’s relationships with African countries have started way back. China and Africa Solidarity continues! Yes, the world must see China’s demonstrated success indeed without military intervention and threats!

China wants to help Africa to take 100s millions of Africa out of poverty too, build school, hospitals, roads, rails and ports which in China experience leads to poverty reduction and prosperity of people. China government like Russian governments are people governments, Putin and Xi has 80-90% approval rating, its truly a government for the people. The western governments are a farce, they dont act for the interests of their people but the military industry, bankers and industrial elites, its driven by greed and exploitation. Just for the oil or Iraq, Syria and Libya, they willing to lie to their own people, kill a million in middle east, 38 million refugees, increase global poverty to enrich themselves.

When Africans was dying from Malaria many decades ago, China invented a anti-malaria drug and gave it to Africa even though China was so poor and struggling themselves at that time. Who will ever do that if they are not your family or friend? Ask any old African person and they will remember how the Chinese anti-malaria had save them. Smart & educated Africans generally know what these two gentlemen said, I have first hand experience of that more than a decade ago and some of my best friends were Africans when I was in the UK. Don't confuse black people who were brought up in the Anglo Saxon countries (especially those in the US, you can hardly find great thinkers in the US today like Mohammad Ali or Malcolm X) be the same as these smart & educated Africans. Young people in China mostly support the Chinese government. Trading certain individual freedom for the collective cohesion and prosperity of society is a transaction that most of them are willing to take. In comparison, if you look at the US or democratic system, the country is always divided to the point of near civil-war and any changes done by one administration will be undone every 4 years -- and that's IF anything gets done at all and not blocked by the opposition party in congress or the house.
When it comes to Africa, China will lend money to African countries with zero involvement on how you spend it or what changes needs to be made to your local governments. That's up for the African people to decide. America, on the other hand, will want to over throw governments that won't play ball with American foreign policy so that they can extract all the resources with the powerful MNC (multi-national companies) and install military bases on African soil in order to better control the population.
So you (Africans) decide who you want to work with.

This was great! Thank you, gentlemen! I'm a European only recently awakened to the realities of this world and the atrocious behavior of Western leaders, past and present. I learnt so much from this and will continue to educate myself. I wish all the best to Africa and China in their rise against the oppression and tyranny of the west and hope that in my lifetime I will get to see a world where cooperation and mutual respect among nations becomes the norm.
