Because I know it will be asked about - The predatory blade is not included because it's bad as a thrall weapon due to they will mostly use the heavy attack which does little to no damage, to get the most out of this weapon you need to use light attacks and you just don't have that control on thralls. (Pred blade took over 5+ mins to kill either of my bosses and they mostly used heavy attacks)

After all the chasing of theoretical perfection, I was surprised to see that, with the star metal mace, an undistinguished follower could hold his own quite well. It seems like whatever the maces lack in raw damage, they make up for in consistent, fast attacks.
Have you considered making an updated one of these videos for Siptah? Interested to see how well the new weapons like Annoying Shard hold up on a thrall.
So depending on what your goal is for your thrall. For jsut maintaining aggo and keeping the mob from hitting you I recommend a venom war axe. The aggro systems works off amount of hits, not damage inflicted. So when they use that there are 3 sources or damage tripling the "hits" - Glad festering axe was mentioned.
The one handed axes and maces seem to work well, with followers typically doing combos and not standing around very much. I like the Black Ice Broadsword a lot, and also tend to use the dragonbone weapons for thralls a fair bit. I have a relic hunter with Aja's Bane, and she tends to get work done in a hurry. Of all the hammers, I'd say that Bal-Teor's seems like the best one. Because it doesn't weigh anything, I usually carry one for contingencies. Spears, while they don't do the most damage or kill the fastest, seem to allow thralls to not take much damage, due to the stagger/knockback. The big hammers and axes are really variable. They can look really great sometimes, but other times go long periods without any effective attacks.
There's some really great weapons out there for sure, the usage has improved a lot too due to there bug fixes on the AI. I remember late last year struggling to get a thrall to use some of the weapons without them spacing out, but now it's not an issue. :)

What I dislike about most of these videos with the time to kill comparison….. is that the UA-camrs never kill more then one enemy to get a ttk time. Kill it like 3 or 5 times with each weapon, then get the average.
Aja's Bane has had the best results over the years, i would never equip a 2-handed weapon over it. +5 strength and the speed.. I heard that the Voidforge Mace gives the same bonus but does even more damage so that's something i'll have to check out since it has completely slipped through my radar somehow.
Thralls get stuck in a block animation until they get hit. Same reason why Katanas are trash with thalls in the mean time til they fix the charged type weapons
Im giving mine (just redownloaded for the 100th time) 1h axe/shield Pike And either gs or warhammer Each set in strategic layout. The thralls with shields and axes do so as to hold the enemy for archers Pike is just to cc that ass to death because nothing says fuck you like 5 pikes holding you in place and poking you to death Warhammers have hyperarmer and greatswords are self explanatory, have the thralls guarding tight spots and narrow environments to counter act the slow attack speed and you have dodge the multiple semis coming your way on a 1 lane road Also goes down to the geography of the location theyre defending My estate guards will use 2h, the front gate axe shield, 2nd is a combo with axe and pike. Inner security after the gate is 2h and 1h axe combo etc. I pair them as such for optimal effeciency and it always works beautifully even in pvp.
How about the flawless obsidian mace (43dmg35armorpen) vs star metal mace (46dmg22armorpen) basestats that is. Seems like the armor pen is a bit higher on the flawless. Im gonna try the maces anyways

Sword of Crom only does 91 damage, actually. I assume you put on an Advanced Weapon Damage Kit? Edit: I just noticed you listed weapons that already have that particular modification, as opposed to say a Master weapon fitting that would grant a +5 damage and +12% penetration?
Is it possible to force a reset on weapon mod? Like maybe use a timed consumable mod on it? I'm stuck with armor pen and should have went with the master fitting that gives both dmg and arpen lol

I'm curious about this: Does "Brittle Bastard" have some hidden bonus? Why would it be used over, say, the "Quake" mace which has better numbers on the item card? I've even seen it place higher than identical stat maces on some peoples' list - even when the others have actual "bonus X" listings.
didn't include hammers due to them kicking too much. Me; still using hammers on thalls specifically Diana the huntress. is it just me or dose she never kick when she uses a hammer. That or my RNG with that thrall is good enough where she never kicks in my sights. Personally one of my fav AI's that i might be lucking out on. Sadly that archer doesn't seem to go past 5,000 life when maxed but close enough.

on the latest server ive been playing on i got aja's from the first legendary chest i opened. made up for dying and having to grab my thrall from base to kill the thing. lol
ALWAYS use 2h swords on thralls rest is simply bullshit...Also forget about any thralls but the T4 from the volcano, relic hunter (spear guys) and cimmerian berserker, those have a 3.9 dmg modifier
@@cedricwilson1593 Some bosses can almost insta gib your Thralls (Arena Champion) and giving them two handed weapons can damn them to be stunlocked and killed pretty easy. It's not as clear cut. Against players also it doesn't work, but in PVP your thralls need bows...and nothing else (or used to)

Now you can set the thrall to melee only and they won’t use the dash attack anymore.

U should use master weapon fitting over damage it brings up both pen and damage

No worries! In terms of bows hmm, high pen, high dmg is always nice, star metal bows are nice, dragonbone also.

They all had the adv dmg kit yea, Master would be better indeed however the list would still remain roughly at the same rates just quicker :)

Some of the shorter ranged weapons become realy bad when you're fighting a bigger creature (dragon, ogre, mammoth) they will miss a lot.

Brittle bastard does extra damage to player armors and shields so you can break people's gear

The Scythe of Thag is a very overlooked weapon but I fear that they'll nerf it if too many people know about it and start using it.
2h poison sword is the best in kill speed with master fitting vs the champion 1:30. with a godrolled spinas :)

Yeah I dont know a mace took my thrall 1:15 minutes to kill a regular tiger and with the flawless star metal great axe it only took him 11 seconds..m

Champion chest/redeem silent chest +3str
Any +5 str weapon
