I live in a tiny island in the Caribbean, and there are no techs..I am so grateful for your video, as you gave me confidence that I could fix my oven. And I just did!! I couldn't of done it without you. Thank you so very much!!!❤
Was not expecting to find a "how to fix" video for the exact same make, model and faulty switch that I have!! Thanks for going to the trouble of recording it, you've given me the confidence to give it a go. Many thanks
Thanks for the vid. Done this twice now, with your help. Somebody below mentioned [jokingly] they were left with three screws: what I always do with this kind of fiddly, multi-screw job is draw a diagram of the unit to be fixed - in this case the top of the cooker - and place the screws on the diagram exactly where they came out. Then you know where they should go back in again. Once again, thank you.
@@2010Mrturk I thought I'd done it but when I switched it on it fused the whole house, tried rewiring it but I couldn't get it to work so no it didn't work for me.. I still appreciate the video though..
I never comment on videos but had to say thanks for this one. Our almost identical oven has been on the blink and it looks like it was a faulty selector switch that was the culprit. I followed you video step by step and have installed a new switch that appears to be working. Much cheaper than a call out.
Thank you for your positive feedback the only thing I would mention is a genuine switch as the ones I keep buying off of eBay do keep breaking also remember to tighten the two screws right on the back of the cover where the vents are underneath or it will rattle
Thanks for the informative video, I have successfully repaired my oven for the second time now. First time the heating element for the fan oven wanted replacing, this time I'd not entirely diagnosed that the problem was the switch but following your instructions I was confident to try it, and it worked! Cheers, sorted for the cost of a part. P.S It may be common sense but for safety definitely shut the gas off before tinkering with ovens, and also the electricity if you're not a professional.
Hey man thats a good job done. I have similar problem . Just checking did the oven stay on over a long period of use. Mine goes off once warm but fiddling with switch it comes on then off again. Thanks
Basically this is the second time I have done this the switch I purchased kept burning out I have done a second video which hopefully is better after I replace this switch the oven worked perfectly I hope this answers your question check out my other video it may answer more questions
All I can say it seems to be impossible to get original switch off eBay maybe you can purchase one directly from Kenwood as the eBay Originals seem to be fake no matter what the ad says it's not the first time I have bought so-called original parts and they turned out to be fake it's a big job so if you have to pay a little extra for original parts I would do so
We were going to change the oven but thanks to you and your video you saved us a fortune and I get to keep my favourite oven
