Probably after a few more weeks here you will be able to make the diffrence between gypsies and romanians. So this is how it came to this point. In 2007 when Romania entered European Union (EU) and the borders opened partially and it became easier to travel (go to other EU countries only with your ID, not passport) the gypsies were the first ones that rushed over the borders and did illegal stuff like they were also doing here. Until then, those people did’t have much contact with romanias so the most of them assumed the gypsies were the romanians. This is how we got our image dusted and to this day we are still trying to clean it. PS welcome to Brasov! In the next comment I will leave a few more tips for this city.

Welcome to Romania mate, it's definitely a pleasure to hear about my country nice things. I moved back from US to Romania, and I was thinking to move to Spain for a while, but, after spending more time in Transylvania, I just never left home.
Poftă bună.(zacusca, beef salad, Rădăuța soup, smoked bean soup, chicken soup with dumplings, chicken soup with home-made noodles, stuffed pepper, moussaka, sarmale, Cluj cabbage, Moldavian tochitura, beans beans with smoked cilantro, ciaun chicken with cream and polenta, papanasi, cheese/pumpkin/apple pie. Good appetite.)
@@therealwan Hi Juwan, really nice video again, I'm glad you continue to enjoy yourself here. A second vote for the papanasi here. I just wanted to make a comment regarding the language: You'd be surprised how useful it is to learn Romanian. Not even I realized this until I talked to foreigners who are passionate learners: Romania is uniquely places at the crossroads of the old Roman empire (and their Latin language which makes the most of the Romanian vocabulary) and the Slavic countries (and their languages, which make the second biggest chunk of the Romanian vocabulary). Learning Romanian means you'll automatically be able to understand from French, some Italian, some Spanish, some Portuguese and even some Ukrainian as I found out recently while talking to some refugees. I'd say it's totally worth giving it a go, the investment will pay off!
I'm glad to hear you are enjoying Romania. some quick advice on how to navigate our culture and ppl: - there are some people that beg for money directly or send children to beg(professionally). Please don't give them money If they ask for food, then yes, you probably are in contact with a person in need for real. - we don't mince words. If you think some romanian is being rude, it's not intentional, we just speak our minds at all times - if you want great food, don't go by restaurant reviews. make a friend that is local and just ask them, they are most certainly going to be happy to get you to the best places they know of - Romania has plenty racists, don't you worry about that part (lol). But the level of racism is nothing like other countries. There is maybe some fear here and there (the unknown), but no hate. (I have to say, some countries really are in the hate part of that spectrum ... sheesh) - as far as safety is concerned, if there are lights on the street at night you are 100% safe. if there are no lights on the street at night you are 99.997% safe in most large cities - if you have the desire to travel the country you can basically get a train to every corner (sometimes not the most modern ones, or fast)
have a nice time in romania. you should go see Peles castle in Sinaia, just under 1 hour travell by train. but only if you are an early riser as it gets very crowded after 10 am. on seccond thoughts, even if you don't make it into the castle, the castle gardens and the whole town are lovely. if you have not been there already, go to Poiana Brasov, 10 km up in the montain from Brasov- a nice ski resort but also worth visiting in any other season. there are several pretty good restaurants as well . if you have time for longer trips, Sighisoara town is only in one hour and a half distance form Brasov, it is a charing medieval town part of UNESCO herritage. stay safe!
Hi Juwan! I highly recommend the restaurant "Sergiana", it's in the center of the city and they also have another location that it's outside the city (Stâna Sergiana). The one in the city is underground and their food is amazing (my favorite dishes are "Tocăniță Ardelenească" and "Sarmale", but everything there is tasty and for sure worth trying. Hope you and your wife will have the time to try their food! ☺️
Its strange how it takes a foreigner to remind me that I should appreciate my home country. Thanks Juwan. The food has gotten more expensive since Russia and Ukraine are at war, and the inflation that it caused, at least for us locals, is affordable compared to other EU countries. A tip when eating at restaurants is to go to those that you see already have lots of people at their tables; that's when you know the food is fresh. In Brasov, there's a great spot called Cupt'Or. Every time I ate there I was very satisfied and their portion sizes were also BIG Concerning safety. Things used to be wild in the '90s and early 2000s, but the police cracked down on street crime HARD and it actually paid off. We still have crime and organized crime, but it's more discreet. You only get into trouble if you really go looking for it.
Food suggestions following, show it to the server. (La Ceaun/Ograda, city centre). Cold: salata vinete, zacusca, icre (and in general all cold cuts). Warm: ciorba de burta, ciorba de fasole cu ceapa, ciorba de vacuta.. , sarmale, mici, ciolan.. sweet: papanasi. Many other dishes might get suggested here.
ey mate nice video (igonore my pfp its a old one and got lazy to change it) some foods in romania you should 100% try are Mici or mititei (or in english *small ones*), sarmale (surprise) ardei umpluti (filled pepper) btw the *family members that put theyr kids for money are called gypsys or roma/romani* they come from india and they are not romanian they are fully named gypsys
Make sure you're properly dressed for hiking in the Romanian mountains, although after Sweden, you're probably as prepared as prepared gets (: cheers and take care! Always lovely to see your videos .
Juwan, you are going to change in ways you never dreamed! I'm so happy you have the oportunity to experience Romania, and its great people. Be careful, be open minded, be strong and courageous. God is with you!
Traditional appetizers: roasted eggplant spread (salată de vinete), roasted peppers/vegetable spread (zacuscă), fish roe spread (icre), bean hummus (fasole bătută), roasted red peppers (ardei copți), breaded beef brain (creier pane), breaded yellow cheese (cașcaval pane). Soups - too many to list but the most exotic would be beef tripe soup (ciorbă de burtă) and soup thickened with cream Rădăuți-style (ciorbă rădăuțeană), matzo ball soup (supă cu găluște). Side dishes to try include polenta (mămăligă), in the spring stinging nettle greens (urzici), shaved apple and celery salad (salată de țelină cu măr) and sauces like the traditional garlic sauce (mujdei). Main dishes include grilled pork neck (ceafă de porc) which is much more tender than American pork chops, stuffed cabbage leaves or stuffed grape leaves (sarmale), both can be with pork or vegetarian with rice, marinated meatballs (chifteluțe marinate), poultry with quinces which are a local fruit (mâncare de gutui), celery dish (mâncare de țelină), in the fall try sheep pastrami, and Romanian style kebab (mici). For dessert the crepes are good and varied (clătite), various cakes are great, juicy syruppy dough dessert (savarine), chocolate potatoes, named so because of their shape (cartofi de ciocolată), traditional sweetbread (cozonac), plum dumplings (găluște cu prune), and only in the context of religious ceremonies honoring the dead, boiled wheat dessert (colivă). For drinks, other than the alcoholic ones, in the fall you must try young wine or must, which is fermented grape juice before it become wine (must), elderberry infused drink (socată) but try it fresh, not bottled, or rose petal lemonade (limonadă cu petale de trandafir). For alcoholic drinks I'd recommend, other than the usual suspects, the various "ades" (think Gator"ade" in English) made from various fruits, they are liqueurs with less alcohol than brandy (țuică) and the like: sour cherry ade (vișinată), blueverry ade (afinată), fig ade (smochinată), quince ade (gutuiată), sweet cherry ade (cireșată), etc. Of course if you go to the delta or the Black Sea coast, you have to try all the local river fish or the seafood, respectively. My favorite sea fish is the turbot (calcan) which is flat and fatty. But there will be a huge variety of options. In your mountain area go to a trout nursery for food (păstrăvărie), there is a really good one between Brașov and Sighișoara which serves trout soups, main dishes, etc which are delicious- just be careful with the bones! I hope you enjoy the country's hospitality and have nothing but positive interactions with the people.
About food hmmm i like Mici,Sarmale,Ciorbă Rădăuțeană or Ciorbă de Burtă,Varză a la Cluj and desert Cozonac(it's a cake we make for Easter and Christmas it's very good homemade but you can find in the market looking for Cozonac Boromir,Papanași with berries, you can find in many restaurants this.
There are rules for changing the direction of travel, the traffic lane of the car. You signal and drivers generally let you change lanes if you want to change direction. Also, many drivers who are locals know the areas where there are side streets and expect it and are careful. Drivers know this but for someone who doesn't drive it seems chaotic.
Try out Kürtöskalàcs too( curt-like Kobain , osh-like Josh without the J and kalach , ch like Chavez) , and also you should try Mititei ( easy to pronounce) 😎
Great video. I suggest you just learn hello and please and maybe thank you. Then people generally respond and help you. Keep doing what you’re doing. I like learning about different cultures.
Nice video. Bay the way, you can try soups like Ciorba de Burta, Ciorba de Perisoare( my favorite ). Mici is another traditional dish but try fresh mici. My dog is like you. I smoke in my kitchen and my dog sleep there, passive smoker like you :))
i remember seeing Kobe Bryant giving an interview for AC Milan channel in perfectly fluent italian, i was so impressed.. learn the language at some level my dude, just to be cool if you can't find any other reason and impress someone at some point. btw, italian is pretty similar, if you learn a bit of romanian then italian will follow naturally
Kobe Bryant spent many years in Italy with his family, when he was a kid. His father was a professional basketball player there, that's why he spoke perfect Italian.
Yes, Romanian has many words from Latin via French and Italian languages so it would be useful in the future if you move to another country with language roots in Latin (Spain, Portugal, Italy, France).@@therealwan
New subscriber here 👋🏼 Hi 😊 Thank you for appreciating my hometown, I wish you and your partner, a very pleasant stay and hope you will enjoy every minute of it. Also, thank you for the video, I really miss my city ❤ and this was one more opportunity to see it. You talked about safety, in Romania only people with special permits can own a gun, like some police officers, special forces, hunters, and so on… so yes, it’s a safe country to live in. Enjoy and have a wonderful stay!!! 😊
you gave us a real chance man instead of just accepting the bad reputation ... some people judge my entire country and people based on our rejects and criminals sadly but you decided to see for yourself and i have nothing but respect for that , thank you
Thank you so much for your video in România you have very many beautiful places,i made a list of some places which you can to visit: a very beautiful place is Therme Bucharest it is the largest and modern complex of thermal baths in Europe,Library Cărturești,Athenaeum Roman and also în Bucharest you have the Palace of Parlament the haviest and expensive buldin administrative în the world and you should really go to Salina Turda in Cluj it is amazing, Castelul de lut in Sibiu (which looks like a fairy tale), the Palace of Culture in Iași, Trasfăgărășean and Transalpina are two of the most spectacular mountain roads in the world, Vidraru Dam, Mud Volcanoes in Buzău, Danube Boilers, Egreta Complex in Brezeasca, Danube Delta in Tulcea(It is in the UNESCO heritage), Sphinx in the Bucegi Mountains, Cheile Bicazului.😊
HI, loving yr clips! u need to try sarmale, mici, tripe soup and papanasi (Papanasi is sweet). We have manny more traditional really good dishes, but those are the most iconic. God bless u and stay healty! DO NOT feel bad for those families u sayd didnt accept food, usually are gipsys families wich are begging for drinks, drogs. In romania verry few ppls really cant afford to eat.
Try papansi with jam bro (not with nutella), you will love them. Also you should definitely try sarmale, I personally preffer them with sour cream and polenta with cheese (also with sour cream) .As a tip, try to serve traditional food in high rated traditional restaurants. I am from Cluj, and I'll definitely take a look on you when you will play against U BT at Cluj
Oh brother, the list is long from the culinary perspective, I would recommend to try , Sarmale (cabbage rolls) , Mici( BBQ sausages without the skin kinda ), desert Papanasi . Start with these ones 😂😂😂😂 I'm living abroad and man I miss the food sooooo much . Enjoy
@@therealwanwell the mix sometimes matters , usually is pork and sheep mix , and some they add beef too. And also there are certain places they do them extremely well , so you need TripAdvisors help to find the right place 😉
You should visit Sibiu (but u need to schedule at least 1 full day to visit the old part of the city. It's the most romantic city here, different than other cities. In 2008 it was #6 most picturesque cities in Europe in a top made by Forbes.
I agree with the smoking. It's the most disgusting habit, and more dangerous for the people around the smoker. Fortunately, there will be a stricter legislation pretty soon. Regarding the traditional food -keep in mind that Romanian cuisine is more like the comfort food . Slow cooking, really good, healthy in moderate quantities, especially for an athlete. You will not be able to eat 'sarmale' and 'mici' every single day (although you will want to). Traditionally, the Romanians have religious fasting (mostly older generation) - they practically turn vegetarian 2-3 days a week and for longer period of time before Easter and Christmas. That helps with the diet. So you'll have vegetarian/vegan options , too: try the 'zacusca' - it's a vegetables spread. Enjoy your stay! P.S. Maybe you'll reconsider driving, if you rent a car you will be able to visit more, that's plenty to see around Brasov.
What you mentioned about cutting people off when in the central lane of the roundabout and wanting to take a right is illegal, the same rules apply as when you are driving straight, so in order to change lane you need wait for it to be clear. So those doing it have little to no respect for laws or other people.
Bro...just try EVERYTHING ...you already know we have good food, made with love ...what more do you want? Enjoy what life gave you, next week it's our National Day 1-st of December and you'll get lots of variety.
for non-smokers.. there is always the inside option... nobody is allowed to smoke inside restaurants.... if you want to enjoy your meals free of smoke, definitely, i would advise you to go inside
You should really go and visit Sinaia, is really close to Brasov 60 Km and is one of the moust beautiful towns in Romainia. Visit Peles castle in Sinaia and also take the cable car to go up top of the mountain ( It will be prety cold this time of the year so dress for cold wether). You can take the train from Brasov to Sinaia!
Thank you for reminding us that we live in a beautiful country/town. :) About the tear in the eye of the little kid, please watch " Filantropica " a 20 something years old movie that tells the same story, with a twist. All the best man, glad to have you here.
As romanian and living 18 years under the communism era, i have to say that Romania was always safe. You don't see police much comparing with USA, because people are peaceful. You can see police during protests or strikes, but most of the times these takes place in Bucharest, in front of Government building.Regarding Brasov,is even more peaceful, being a very touristic city.Try to visit Maramures,Transfagarasan and Bucovina and discover village life.Prince Charles of UK is staying in Romania 3 months per year, and he has a house in Viscri village, opened for tourists when he is not arround.Try to pay a visit,is only about 80 km from Brasov, and you will discover real village romanian life. Moreover try traditional food, like famous sarmale, mici and kurtos-colacs. We are a country of pretzels and bread, and we like also cheese.
If you think smoking is bad nowdays, you should had seen it like 5 years ago before it was banned to smoke indoor. A lot of people gave up on smoking then but there are still a lot. Slowly it's getting changed but it's hard to change mentalities overnight. Do not give gipsy beggers money, it's rarely that they need that in order to eat and more so it's their business to make money. Some may even be richer than you and you will never know it. Try sarmale with mamaliga, mici, shaorma. You also can try for bread spread :salata de vinete, zacusca. For desert papanasi, langosi, kurtosh. Not all romanian but you will find them anywhere. Also I wonder how does the romanian language sounds to you.
Hello friend, from what I see you are active in a team from Brasov. Be a little careful in terms of safety... however, I'm not referring to people, they are OK. But especially in the evening if you go out for a walk, keep in mind that there are bears in the area. Basically, you are in the country with the largest population of bears in Europe. And occasionally one ends up wandering through the urban areas
Don't feel bad for the parents. They are abusing their children and using them for money. DON'T support child labor and child abuse. Don't give them money or food. If you don't give they won't ask. If you give them they'll not be thankful they'll consider you dumb and a fool, which would be factually true. Honest people don't do this, they go and work and kids go to school not in the street.
If you give them money a few times they might start to stalk you and ask every time they see you. A long time ago they started stalking and harassing my mother when she didn't want to give them money anymore. They probably won't harras you because you are a big guy, but if you are a young, frail woman, it is tough.
Dont give money ! If they refuse your food they are not in need! Sow if they ask and you like to help ofer to buy food, if they refuse they ar not in need, that is the rule in Romania. Some of this person make more money then you. Regarding romanian food... find a friend and he will take you to a food tour.
Romania is rated as 31th safest Country in the world!!!If you want to take a hike at 2 AM in the morning....it is safe! Everyone is doing their own thing....I live in a big City and i didn't get bullied or rubbed once in 37 years !!!
hey bro, come in maramures county for the real romanian experience, this is the "original" part of romania, who knows knows, i have a property also in brasov, but i live in baia mare, would recomand you at least come here once, the food is not comparable, please trust me on this one, one side of my family is from brasov the other one from maramures, they can't compare
romanian language is in my view the easiest language to learn for westerners that know english or know a romance language from all of the former comunist countries , so if you want to experience eastern europe on easy mode, romania is the best choice, not to mention romanians are more liberal in the core value sense and less populist than theyr former warsaw pact countries
I wish you all the best! So glad you like it here & i wish for you good health and don' t believe that romanians are gipsys or they steel , in all countrys are bad ppl & gipsies are not romanians. They decent from indians and they are a migrant tribe they came here because of Ceaușescu from Russia because he wanted cheap labor & they stayed here. Actually Romania was named the small Paris years ago & is the first country in europe to have street lights( Timișoara was the first city in europe with street lights) . Thank you for your visit & please don' t believe this nonsens that every one steel in romania , no, like every country we have also bad ppl but not all romanians are bad ❤. Yes we smoke but this is Europe 😊Yes don' t give money to the beggers, they are those gipsies that steel, and it' s just an act, actually they have big houses& if they are not gipsies they are put by them to steel😢we have not guns every where & just few & very hard to have a permit for a gun😊 Go to Brașov, Timișoara, Black Sea, Oradea , Sighișoara etc
1. Gypsys have been living here and various parts of Europe for centuries. They have nothing to do with Ceausescu. 2. Bucharest was called Paris of the East, not the whole country. 3. Timisoara was the first European city that had electric street lights, but it wasn't part of Romania in that time, so Romania was not the first country with electric street lights.
Yes we learn english , french in school,so even if we are not 1000% fluent in english we understand you. I personally didn' t learn gramar english so good to whrite , but i understand every word & i know to answer you. But in whriting gramar , not so good ( sorry on that) 😊
@@therealwan americans usually don' t need to learn because they don' t need to travel to work in other countrys. But in Europe you travel/ work in other countrys so it' s a must. I know not only franch & english but also spanish, italian but that is because it' s romance lanq like our ( spanish, italian ) so it' s easy. Actually romanian lanq is a latin lanq soooo old , latin is on his base but beeing sorrowned by slavs we are a bit mixed. Romanian ( Roman Impare) . Send you hugs.
I would recommend you if want done donate something to someone that is asking, mainly kids, just give them something to eat. If they are send by the parents then those money will to drugs, alcohol or something that kid will never enjoy.
Food recommendations that I haven't seen is hungarian foods. We have a lot of ethnic Hungarians here in Romania, most of them in transylvania. I recommend gulash (some kind of beef stew) and kurtos kalacs/curots colac (a kind of pastry desert that looks like a hollow tube sprinkled with all kinds of toppings like cinnamon or walnuts, one of my favorite deserts :)), you can usually find it at stands on the street). The langos that you mentioned is a hungarian dish.
You are right about driving here, it's not that bad like in India, but it's bad compared to other western countries. So it's safer to use Uber, Bolt and public transportation. I am a little crazy and ride a bicycle in Bucharest, playing the daily game of life and death, but please don't be like me. 😅 Romanian drivers are completely crazy !! 😅
Traditional Romanian food: Sarmale cu mamaliga (cabbage rolls with polenta) - polenta is like bread but from corn... don't taste it by itself... it's meant to be eaten with the main dish Mici (like a grilled sausage but without the skin - you eat it with mustard and bread) Ciorba de costita afumata (soup from smoked pork ribs) Ciorba de fasole (bean soup) Ciorba de burta (tripe soup - cow stomach) Carne de la garnita (smoked pork steak preserved in pork fat over the winter - delicious!) Papanasi (desert - it's like a donut with sour cheese cream and blueberry jam)
Sarmale cu mămăliguță, smântână și muscă dintr-o ceapă spartă cu pumnul pe care m-ai apoi o dai prin sare! Ciorbă de burtă 100%. Fasole cu cârnați si afumatura!
The level of safety is exactly like in Italy and Spain, if you pay just normal attention to your belongings you’ll be fine❤ Romanian reputation in Europe has been a little spoiled by. all people identifying all those begging gypsies with Romanian people, also a lot of Romanian people immigrated to Italy to find a better life and accepted very humble jobs which nobody wanted, but this was perceived as “they come there to steal our job” ( happened the same with Albanians in the ‘90) and it is hard to get rid of this fame. But this is too bad because Romania is really Europe hidden gem 💎
Hi. about the kids that are asking for money. don't give them money. they will use it on cigarettes, alcohol, or drugs. they'll almost never take food cause they don't want it. now, if you see some poor old people in fornt of a Gigi or Luca, they'll probably want some food and thank you for it. So, if you see a kid begging, it's just a gypsy. don't give them anything and don't feel bad about it. I'm not saying it with any hatred towards them, it's just a "scam" and everybody in Romania knows about it.
Careful in Romania as smoking is everywhere. Science: "Abstract: In Romania lung cancer represents the second most common cancer after breast cancer, for both sexes, and is the leading cause of death among patients with cancer. Between 2011 and 2019 the incidence of cancer had a growing trend for both Romania and Constanta County. Unfortunately, the forecast regarding the incidence of cancer in Romania shows a trend of continuous rise of new cancer cases until 332.7%000 inhabitants by 2025. In these conditions we wanted to analyze some aspects of lung cancer situation in Constanta County. ua-cam.com/video/xlAYIp8dpRQ/v-deo.html
BTW...since you use Uber in Romania quite a bit...never forget to TIP your driver...and from an AMERICAN athlete point of view, I mean never! Especially when it is so cheap...Enjoy your stay!
Welcome to Romania. NEVER give money to beggars, NEVER. As far as Romanian traditional foods, try Sarmale, Mici with mustard, and try a few Ciorbas, Ciorba is a thicker soup, Ciorba de Vita, Radauteana, Perisoare (Beef Ciorba, Chicken Ciorba with cream, Meatballs Ciorba) as for desert, try Cheese Pie, Apple pie, Pumpkin Pie and Papanasi. Enjoy your stay.

- as far as safety is concerned, if there are lights on the street at night you are 100% safe. if there are no lights on the street at night you are 99.997% safe in most large cities
- if you have the desire to travel the country you can basically get a train to every corner (sometimes not the most modern ones, or fast)
have a nice time in romania. you should go see Peles castle in Sinaia, just under 1 hour travell by train. but only if you are an early riser as it gets very crowded after 10 am. on seccond thoughts, even if you don't make it into the castle, the castle gardens and the whole town are lovely. if you have not been there already, go to Poiana Brasov, 10 km up in the montain from Brasov- a nice ski resort but also worth visiting in any other season. there are several pretty good restaurants as well . if you have time for longer trips, Sighisoara town is only in one hour and a half distance form Brasov, it is a charing medieval town part of UNESCO herritage. stay safe!
Thank you! I’ll check It out one of these days
Thank you for liking my country!!!👍👍🥳🥳
awesome video and great channel! hope to visit romania one day.
Thank you!! You should visit if you can
Its strange how it takes a foreigner to remind me that I should appreciate my home country.
Every time I ate there I was very satisfied and their portion sizes were also BIG
Concerning safety.
Enjoy your stay bro.
Thank you, I will
ey mate nice video (igonore my pfp its a old one and got lazy to change it) some foods in romania you should 100% try are Mici or mititei (or in english *small ones*), sarmale (surprise)
ardei umpluti (filled pepper) btw the *family members that put theyr kids for money are called gypsys or roma/romani* they come from india and they are not romanian they are fully named gypsys
So glad you like Romania, thanks so much for promoting it! All the best to you and yours!:)
Dope video with lots of insight. Beautiful country 😃
My guy thank you for tapping In!
Thank you for sharing and the food sounds delicious ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
Make sure you're properly dressed for hiking in the Romanian mountains, although after Sweden, you're probably as prepared as prepared gets (: cheers and take care! Always lovely to see your videos .
Summer's coming. Go on the seaside or in the delta. You'll love it. And watch out for those bears in Brasov 😁
Next time! You don't have to worry about me being close to bears at all haha
For food: soups, sarmale, mici, cozonac, tochitura moldoveneasca, pastrama de miel, ardei umpluti, etc
Great video. Maybe some bascket?
Most bascket content will be on my @juwangrayhoops page but vlogs will be posted here
Come visot Pestera Village, 40 km away from Brasov. Beautiful sceneries tovarăș 2 mountain chains, Bucegi and Piatra Craiului. ❤
Juw, man, I saw you when you arrived on Otopeni Airport:) glad you found your feet
10:22 imagine in the past when we were allowed to smoke inside😂😂
Try out Kürtöskalàcs too( curt-like Kobain , osh-like Josh without the J and kalach , ch like Chavez) , and also you should try Mititei ( easy to pronounce) 😎
Welcome! I'm happy you opened your mind and you enjoy our country.
Glad to be here!!
By the sea you have to try a simple dish: hamsie prajita (fried hamsie😂😂😂) . Small fish deep fried in oil, with fries and a glass of draft beer.
I don't know if you tried "Sarmale" traditional Romanian food. Try it and you will like it.
I have not tried It yet but I will
Glad you enjoy it brotha
Living every minute of it
Are you still in Brasov ?
You haven't posted any new videos.
looking forward to watch more
i remember seeing Kobe Bryant giving an interview for AC Milan channel in perfectly fluent italian, i was so impressed.. learn the language at some level my dude, just to be cool if you can't find any other reason and impress someone at some point. btw, italian is pretty similar, if you learn a bit of romanian then italian will follow naturally
That’s impressive. You just motivated me to learn a little bit of Romanian
New subscriber here 👋🏼 Hi 😊
Thank you for appreciating my hometown, I wish you and your partner, a very pleasant stay and hope you will enjoy every minute of it.
Trully love ur enthusiasm😊
😊 thank you
For food check "Carte de bucate" by Sanda Marin. Try all receipes. =))
Enjoy
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ve actually had mici once and It wasn’t that bad
Helo, plase visit Oradea, it is the most beautiful city în Romania
I think we play In Oradea so I will be looking forward to visiting
Bro, come to cluj!
Welcome to Romania! I hop[e you will enjoy your stay and maybe decide to remain some more :)
Romanian native moved abroad, wish I could discover the wild nature of this country again, as someone who never has been there.
If you can find time to make your way back home, for sure do It!
Welcome to România ❤ try Mici, Sarrnale and Pastrama de oaie
I’ve tried mici and sarmale. I posted a video about trying Romanian food if you are interested 😄
You're a nice person. Thanks
for non-smokers.. there is always the inside option... nobody is allowed to smoke inside restaurants.... if you want to enjoy your meals free of smoke, definitely, i would advise you to go inside
About the tear in the eye of the little kid, please watch " Filantropica " a 20 something years old movie that tells the same story, with a twist.
All the best man, glad to have you here.
My pleasure!!
The way he talks about that apple strudel is out of this world. 😂
630 usd for 1 bedroom apartament is a big amount if the average salary in romania is 1000 usd
Apartments In the United States cost $1700.. I can pay 630 USD In romania
@@therealwan i was in the US i know what the prices are it was not what you specifically can afford lul i was talking about in general
@@therealwan a country is built for his citizens not some expats or tourists
Welcome to Romanian brother !
🤝
05:30 "sarmale" and "mici"
Come to Suceava please!
Where is this?
My favorite Romanian foods are "Ciorba de burta" and "Ardei umpluti".
😊you funny lol nice video
That's how rundabouts work 😅Otherwise you would never be able to exit from the inside lane
And occasionally one ends up wandering through the urban areas
lángos is actually a hungarian food but its popular here too
Its so good
About safety, have you heard there about some case of human tr4aff1king? I would like to visit but read a lot about this
Don't feel bad for the parents.
It’s amazing that you don’t have to worry about your safety! I wish this was the case In my homeland of the U.S.
hey bro, come in maramures county for the real romanian experience, this is the "original" part of romania, who knows knows, i have a property also in brasov, but i live in baia mare, would recomand you at least come here once, the food is not comparable, please trust me on this one, one side of my family is from brasov the other one from maramures, they can't compare
romanian language is in my view the easiest language to learn for westerners that know english or know a romance language from all of the former comunist countries , so if you want to experience eastern europe on easy mode, romania is the best choice, not to mention romanians are more liberal in the core value sense and less populist than theyr former warsaw pact countries
Go to Iasi. It is am amazing city.
What?! Ceaușescu îs guilty even for the gipsies from romania?! Just an advise: Drinks less and read more!
Yes we learn english , french in school,so even if we are not 1000% fluent in english we understand you. I personally didn' t learn gramar english so good to whrite , but i understand every word & i know to answer you. But in whriting gramar , not so good ( sorry on that) 😊
It’s amazing that you grow up learning 2-3 languages. Americans cannot even write grammar properly
How's the pollution in Romania?
I would recommend you if want done donate something to someone that is asking, mainly kids, just give them something to eat. If they are send by the parents then those money will to drugs, alcohol or something that kid will never enjoy.
Beaouf Salad bro and Eggplant salad !
Yes, thanks
HALLO I WISH YOU A GREAT TIME BLESSINGS FROM GERMANY 🇩🇪
Thank you! Hoping on taking a trip to Germany soon!
Brașov the most beautiful city of Romania !!! ♥️💛💙
It’s a very beautiful city!
Hahahahahaha careful on the roads In Bucharest!
What? Smoking is forbidden inside public buildings since 2016. Where did you encountered a restaurant in which people smoked inside?
Where did you hear him mentioning inside? He clearly said "when I'm sitting outside at a table"...
@@Bibinella08 Then why should you complain? It is outside, open air, it is not "filling your lungs".

Traditional Romanian food:
Sarmale cu mamaliga (cabbage rolls with polenta) - polenta is like bread but from corn... don't taste it by itself... it's meant to be eaten with the main dish
Mici (like a grilled sausage but without the skin - you eat it with mustard and bread)
Ciorba de costita afumata (soup from smoked pork ribs)
Ciorba de fasole (bean soup)
Ciorba de burta (tripe soup - cow stomach)
Carne de la garnita (smoked pork steak preserved in pork fat over the winter - delicious!)
Papanasi (desert - it's like a donut with sour cheese cream and blueberry jam)
I'm not saying it with any hatred towards them, it's just a "scam" and everybody in Romania knows about it.
we start learning english in kindergarten 😇
Not everyone smokes în România. I hate smoke too...
