Yeah I cringed as I saw them moving it closer to the turn .. made it much harder to gauge and less room for error. Learnt a lot from it though as I was trying to turn on landing and car was digging in and flipping so took a while to learn that one.
Professional setup guys well done like the marshaling hopefully it will help some youngsters get off the streets and keep out of trouble. In the future, the next generation of racing is what matters for the future of rc.car racing track day events and national championships 🏁 😁😎👍
Nice, decent first run. Might perhaps have been nice to have a little clip of the car with body on at the start before the racing so I knew what I was looking for/at .
Another great video 😁 Glad you enjoyed the track, and well done for getting 13 laps in 👍🏼 Sam did an excellent job of filming and commentating on you final 🎥🎤 Hope to see you at rd3 in December 🏎🏁 Ben 😊
Talk about going in at the deep end 😅 A fantastic video, one of your best club day reports. Looks a whole 9 yards better than the TLR for you. All down to more track time now and lots of 10th buggy fun 🤩
Silly mistakes and a bit of bad luck did not make for a good final but I got a few good laps in. Starting to feel more confident just as the day finished ….
So how does the LD3 compare to your old car, looked good in the air. I could never get the hang of offroad ,gave up 2wd a few years ago after a disastrous regional at Broxtowe, loved the look on Eugene's face at the very beginning of the video 😂,enjoy your racing.
So only driven the car in total for about 30mins but immediately noticed it is so much easier to drive than the TLR… probably need to do a day at Midlands raceway to get some track time to dial it in.
Well done Carl 👍🏻. A good shakedown run for the new buggy. Did it feel much better than the Losi? I agree with you that after racing onroad, off-road buggy racing is a steep learning curve! Managed to get to dms the other night and had a great time but it is a lot harder than onroad!
Racing incident or a bit of red mist . I don’t know . There really needs to be a rule In rc racing about touching other cars. There is nothing more frustrating than a pile up in the first bend especially when there is only one final.
Had a few close battles on the track so I’m happy With more time I would have been a lot more confident with the LD3 Car is better than me at the moment
I see everyone wearing a vest and really don't see the practicality of them. When you Brits are racing, are you watching your car or the guys in the vest? Who is the vest for?.....the spectators or the driver? It looks like some unreasonable red tape someone thought of that forces drivers to spend money.
It’s a stipulation of the BRCA, they have to be worn when marshalling, but most people leave them on, (to do with insurance apparently) however I do see your point.
Good racing coverage. That Mark Buttle realy did some aggressive driving that tangled you two up then all and out drives through you at the end of the first round. That would have been hard not to call him out on....Great job. Carl....
I don’t let those things bother me anymore… I focus on keeping it clean and avoid contact. Sometimes I drive defensive and make my car wide which invites a tap or 2.
@@bluegroovemodelsports9650 Mark Buttle never tries to drive aggressively, I can tell you that in full confidence because that is my dad! Everyone messes up sometimes and he did just that, he had a bad day, we all have them, he was in no way trying to be aggressive, I can tell you that now
I wonder when fun left rc buggy racing? Probably when the health and safety because of insurance turned up……..high viz jackets (honestly🙄), one way system to get on the rostrum, and handing you buggy to scrutiny at the end………fun looks like it’s long departed😢
I enjoyed the commentary by the cameraman for Carl's race
He is one of the RC legends …
Sam wasn’t it?
Epic commentary by Sam Mughal as always!! always makes the race more enjoyable when he is calling it!
He is an RC legend
Great video again chaps, it was amazing to meet Carl yesterday a true gentleman. Can't wait for the next video
Cheers buddy
Wow, what an awesome looking track, nice one!!
Could have done with something easier for a first outing
Car looks great and you got stuck in to say the least 😂
What a track though, it’s got pretty much everything you’d want.
Thanks for sharing Carl 👍
I tried my best
Nice Video, nice track. Cool to see you have such facilities to race. Really enjoy looking your videos. Greets from Luxembourg
Welcome Luxembourg thanks for watching
Track looked good fun and your car looked good to, and with some more track time, I think you have got this 👌🏻,
Track time is key
Trying to push in the final and there is so much more in the car … just too many mistakes on a very technical track
Great vid... It was super hard track. I didn't know they moved the big double after P1 and I struggled the rest of the day with it!
Yeah I cringed as I saw them moving it closer to the turn .. made it much harder to gauge and less room for error. Learnt a lot from it though as I was trying to turn on landing and car was digging in and flipping so took a while to learn that one.
Nice one Carl.I wish you well to race it.Thats a crazy track for your first time out with the Schumacher ✌️😊
Defo a real test for me
Jumping beautifully!
I was starting to get the hang of it towards the end.
NICE WORK CARL!!!
Cheers Donnie

It’s all about the next generation of racers
@PopalongRC agreed well, said guys 😁
Well done good sir! I would have loved to hear your thoughts after the race… but maybe that is tomorrow’s video? Great job!
Stay tuned
Outstanding 😎🔥🍻
Cheers buddy
Hopefully see you doing some proper racing outdoors with it in the summer. Would be great to have you come and cover a BRCA national event.
It is on our to do list
Now I have the gear it would be rude not too
Nice, decent first run. Might perhaps have been nice to have a little clip of the car with body on at the start before the racing so I knew what I was looking for/at .
Should have shown a pic of the bottom of the car as it spent most of its time on its roof hahahaha
@@PopalongRC 😬
That was really good. Very nice club set up. Lee Martin? That hack!
Seriously, he should be made to use a Tamiya Hornet.
Great vid as always.
Crazy skills from the top guys

Ben 😊
Really appreciate everyone who helped out with getting footage of my car going round .

Great day
You looked good out there first time with the car!!
Cheers Andrew
I was just getting the hang of it and time was up and had to go home
@@PopalongRC get to midlands raceway on a Saturday and get used to it . I think you will do really well with that🙂
@andrewhopper8700 I do hope so
Good to see you again mate, that was one hell of a technical track 😅
Thanks for all you help … will be racking your brains over the coming weeks
Looks epic!
What a great weekend
Brilliant mate you really enjoyed yourself and your buggy looks great. Great track too What motor , esc ,servo and shorty lipo size you go for ?
There is a video coming with all the information
Hobbywing 6.5 turn combo
@@PopalongRC ok brilliant I look forward to that 😊I’m sure you notice a big difference from your clay buggy to the LD3?
This is a course that requires a lot of technique. seems interesting
I found myself lacking in that department
Well done Carl, had some bad luck in that last one.
I do some 1/10 off-road on high grip and I think it’s the hardest rc to start out in.
Silly mistakes and a bit of bad luck did not make for a good final but I got a few good laps in. Starting to feel more confident just as the day finished ….

Most technical track so far but car is sooo good for first outing ..
What’s the green things on the track
Wheel gremlins
Does the stock spec car come with a ball diff or gear diff? Thank you
LD3S and LD3M are gear LD3D is ball

No red mist from Popalong on this one trying to keep it clean … just lacking in skills on this occasion …
@@PopalongRC i meant the other fellow actually.. that last overtake was a bit much .
It was challenging wasn’t it Carl! Qualifying was ok, but, our finals! Jesus!
I thought I had the line … but that’s racing I guess… had to take evasive action on a couple of occasions… I quite enjoy close battles on track.
Had a few close battles on the track so I’m happy

Yeah it’s a bit funny but broadly it’s better to identify a marshal. Hi vis vest are the least of our cost worries

I would call it well organized. Still lots of fun.
With over 100 racers on the day and a lot of racing to squeeze in it needs to be organised and it ran like clockwork.
