    I really love your work and after 16 yrs in the collision repair and the restoration work plus the first 5 years of collision repairs were in the rus belt where there was never any panels behind the new panels you learn by yourself but, its not good enough. I learned fabrication on my own that took years and I would love being even half your level but, I am now dissabled and with neck and back injuries that left me with out the feelings in my hands and unable to stand for any periods of time I have had to result to a hospital bed but I long for working on cars and bikes even more ! thanks for your videos !!!

      Thanks for you comment Cody. Sorry about your situation. I would go crazy if I could not spend my time making something.

    I am an aircraft engineer and started by making parts out of alloy for them but also making panels for other vehicles like land rovers,race cars and specials. The Austin seven Ulster replica a firm favourite.

    Thank you for making these videos. I bought your first DVD and would be happy to buy a 2nd DVD if you develop it. It would be nice if you could do a scene where you walk through your shop and simply identify what each tool is (the hammers especially, by part # if possible). There is a 0% chance of most of us becoming apprentices in this subject so we need to be spoon fed some of the basic information. I also live in a location where nobody does this sort of work so I can't even drop in at a shop to see what kind of gear they have.

      mindover3 I've learned alot of tricks from the Dvd that helped me hand shape my metal sculptures, things that i wouldn't find anywhere else on the internet. I think the vlog is a great tool for teaching people the art of metalshaping. Maybe if you would promote it on social media, the channel will grow faster. Best regards!

    I'd like to find some hard back books on more serious metal working like this. I have a television but haven't used it in 20 year's. I prefer to read books. Thanks for the video enjoyed it very much.

    if one were interested in gaining the skills to do this, where would they start? I've done automotive body work for years, so I have some basic hammer/dolly's but nothing like the machines you are using. What tooling would you recommend for a beginner to learn this craft?

  • @pheenix42
    @pheenix42 6 років тому

    This is the kind of skilled trade I would have liked to learn...but, I'm too old now and there's no one around to apprentice myself to. Guess I'll just learn a few things for hobby purposes.

    Slightly off topic but what is the purpose of the walls that stick out of the beach into the sea every 100 ft or so? To control erosion? Love your dvd.

    • @mindover3
      @mindover3  8 років тому

      Hi Andrew, they are Groins or groynes they are about a hundred years old and are there to stop the beach eroding as you suggest.

    Just like my shop,you prefer to work alone too? It's not working alone but can't stand people touching stuff!

    • @mindover3
      @mindover3  8 років тому +5

      Hi Andrew, I have employed several people over the years. The problem with employing someone is that you then have twice the customers to deal with twice the paperwork to deal with, government legislation to contend with and more insurance costs and so on and someone there taking up your time. By the time you have shown them what to do, explained how to do it and put right their mistakes you may as well have done it yourself so you end up no better off but with more stress. It might be different with several employees but for one - its not worth it.
