- The day after Christmas we decided to pay a visit to the North Carolina Zoo. Don't you just love spur of the moment trips? It was very cold and therefore not all animals were out but we had a great time. Enjoy!

Zoos are among my favorite places. There were more animals out than I thought there would be in the cold.
There were more out than we expected but still there were so many we didn’t get to see from either the cold or exhibits being closed. Thanks and wishing you a Happy New Year ~ Cathy

The coordination of the purple mask and the hat is 👌🏼👌🏼... oh that's really nice that they gave you vouchers for when it's warmer! I'm sure that made the whole day better - it's kind of like getting to go just for free! And you still get to see some of the animals! Those arctic foxes are so fluffy and cute! I was not expecting to go to the zoo today, and it was so fun! Happy New Year!

I didn't realise black bears could be blonde. Year learn something new every day 😀
The white bear was a polar bear. The black bear was in the clip after that. It is difficult to see but it was there. Thanks~ Cathy

Riverbanks is a good one too. The exhibits are closer together and animals are closer to you. NC Zoo is more spaced out. Definitely go. We enjoy it. Happy new year ~ Cathy

It looks as cold there as it is here! We’ve never been there even though I (V) have been through NC many times. Looks like a good zoo. Love the polar bear stretching out! Also love the Xmas trees.
If you ever get a chance, stop for a visit. Just make sure you allow a whole day. This is the largest zoo in the world. ~ Cathy

I’ve never been to this zoom but have always wanted to. How does it compare to the Riverbank zoom in SC? Similar in size? It looked really nice and it was cool they have Elk. We go to Maggie Valley to see the elk there. Love seeing them.
Riverbank’s exhibits are close together and you get pretty close to the animals (in comparison). NC Zoo is big and spread out. It is a lot of walking. Allow all day to see the whole zoo. Some animals may be off in the distance. NC Zoo is the largest in the world. Happy New Year ~ Cathy
