I did it! I read every comment. And to be honest. I appreciate every single one of your comments. The diversity of opinion. And every single person but a few had one thing in common to say about Halo. It’s music inspired you. It’s music kept this universe Alive for you!
Every time you hear the song you like you receive a flashback. The online community may not have been the best. Toxic even. But we cannot deny that it brought individuals together! That was our time. The golden age of gaming!
Keep writing those memories! Keep telling others the experiences you had during the time halo was here. I don’t care if you hated halo 5 or liked it. Tell it! Because I appreciated all of them. It reminded me of brotherhood I had. My childhood. Laughing and shooting hordes of covenant and flood.
I respect the memories you’ve all had with these games because I’ve shared them with you! I’ve had fun and reminisce with you! I’ll see those of you who want it, aboard Halo: Inifinite! All online communities have toxic elements - some of those come from a place of genuine passion and love, just expressed through filters of frustration, some is just attention seeking and some is sort of emotional vandalism - but if you filter it and sort it and even (if like me you have some obligation) try to translate it to find the useful meaning, then it becomes apparent that the Halo community in some ways is less toxic than other communities because there aren't as many "hobbyist" trolls using it to complain about some unrelated political or social agenda they've latched onto.
For the love of Johnson, please don't fail me, Infinite. I'm begging you.
So far, 343 doesn't have a good track record, and seeing as they completely killed any form of a decent story, I have my doubts.
But I suppose at least the gameplay can be good for a change

absolutely. i could only afford one console, and always got PS and loved what they offered. Halo was the one thing I severely missed and the one series i considered switching for. In the end, I didn't.. always missed it though. So happy MC Collection is coming out on Steam now lol

I've never played a halo game before but because Halo Infinite offered free multiplayer so I joined it and I'm already crying at the fact I didnt know such a masterpiece was hidden from me

I really liked halo 3, it could be because at the time of release i was finally old enough to understand humanity’s place, and the fragility of that place. Halo 3 was the first game where I understood the severity of the situation, that humans were losing. It was the halo series that got me into the philosophy of fiction and how it relates to things in real life.

What I love, is having played through it as a kid and not really understood it, just thought shooting these guys was cool. Now I come back and play and understand them. It is the best feeling in the world

I'd played reach thinking that each of the characters survived (except Kat and Noble 6) and thought it was just epic shooting and stuff
But when replaying it I understood the sacrifices and deaths, the serverity of the invasion. It was quite sad but really eye opening :)
I played halo 3 as a kid and even then I understood what a atmospherical masterpiece it was can't wait for the pc release it'll be my 6th run of the campaign

One of my fav memories is bringing my xbox and tv to my buddies house, setting up in their upstairs loft with about 5 other TV's and then playing all night and into the morning before finally shutting it down. Those LAN/system link parties were the best times... This music defintely helps bring out those memories

I've never owned an Xbox, but in 2014, I got my first PC, and my brother handed me a disc for Halo Combat Evolved. It's was the greatest thing ever. I still have the disc to this day and I love Halo CE. After realizing halo was one of the things I loved to play, I pirated Halo 2. Around this time I managed to play through the entire campaign of Halo 3 and 4 at a friends house. I didn't enjoy 4 I loved Halo 3. I started to get really excited and wanted to play Halo 5 (Which came out a year later), or at least watch the let's play. I had even read many of the Halo books and was amazed at the deep lore. My birthday approached and my brother ended up buying me a PS4. I was still pretty damn excited this was my first console. Sadly I couldn't play Halo. I'm finally glad to hear that Halo: Infinite will arrive on PC. I hope to once again return to playing a game that introduced me to gaming as a whole, and that made me tons of friends
I have high hopes for Infinite. I hope it is the game we deserve not a BS Halo 5 clone

Why do I do this?
As someone who has spent the majority of his 25 years of life gaming, Halo remains the only series that I can identify it's soundtrack in .5 seconds, even including the games I didn't play (4,5, halo wars 2). As not only a gamer but a MAJOR music enthusiast this soundtrack is a needle in the haystack of the music industry and will forever remain as a pillar in my mind of what music should be. Evocative, and portraying something beyond just the notes that are being played by the individual instruments. Much like the LOTR soundtrack, this soundtrack manages to very successfully capture the feelings that are meant to be portrayed by the source material and render you able to recall the moments these songs are played in-game as opposed to a lot of soundtracks I've heard imo.

@11:18-11:46......Man, that stuff gives me chills, it's so good. I love those chromatic transpositions and the bends, while doing so.......damn......And that rising bend/squeel, in the middle (@11:27).....reminded me of a rocket, taking flight (reminding me of a particular Buckethead song).
Some of the best solos, are not built on speed, picking or arpegios but, from "style and phrasing". The music from Infinite, is some of the best game music, and whomever created this, absolutely deserves credit.

Imma come out and say it Halo ODST was my absolute favorite. The soundtrack was FANTASTIC! And the game was just so much fun to me. Plus firefight was fun with friends too. What got me most of all though was your character not being near invincible like Chief. Chief is still my absolute guy but Rookie will always be my favorite. RIP Rookie.

I love halo music because of nostalgia of course but even without the nostalgia, it's special. I adore well-crafted music and Halo does things no one else can. I've never listened to a more powerful soundtrack for anything. Halo music is 100% emotion. It somehow manages to perfectly encapsulate the feeling of never backing down in the face of utter defeat. THAT is why it's amazing. It makes a great game soundtrack or powerful background music to help study.

Legit when Halo 2 dropped we had very few tournaments and we all had to pick teams of 4, and I remember being in the losers bracket where we had one match to revive our team (FFA match)and I was our candidate for being the best on our team and having like the a good portion of people gather around my screen when it was on lockout, I was gaining the lead fast and all because I had the sword, but in the end lost to one of my old LAN party buddies who didn't confront people and just spammed nades, and besides that just me and a close group of around 16 ish people would have LAN parties and just....fucking god damn now everyone is old and no longer on xbox although I'm sure a majority of them are still gamers just shit changed. Like example, I'm on PC now for several years. But past that, it won't be the same.
No team SWAT and me yelling through the door because I was consistently blowing the brains out of the kid with the DENSE Black mop hair, and it got to the point where he had to pass it to someone else in the same match and I was pooping on him just as much...and just the shit talking...No more following each other to a new title like some of us did from Halo 2 to Halo 3. Carrying each other though ranked Duos. (Me and the other guy that beat me in the School H2 tournament were duo partners).
Now I literally know what they meant by the golden years and how you and your homies won't be playing custom games no more.
Truly the best game series on the planet and the music is so moving had some good times on them forever as memories
After Halo reach i stopped playing. It wasnt the same anymore . Forever love the first 3 games ❤
I remember me and my friend finding a trial copy of Halo Original in a Digit or Chip CD booting it up on my Windows XP and instantly falling in love with the theme music that plays in the game menu.
