Thank you for this review, Matt! It's tough to find reviews for Smaller paddlers. It's mostly M and L reviews out there! Do you have a review for Waka BG vs the Zet Five?
Hey there! Thanks I made this channel just for us smaller paddlers because I could not find anything out there either! The green lite video and opening of the billy goat may show you a little more on the billy goat, but I don't have anything on the zet 5 yet. I have a buddy that has one in Asheville that is close to my size and I have seen it in person. It looks like a solid boat from what I can see on the water with him paddling it on the green. Wade has a review on the 5 (ua-cam.com/video/xksgnKJ9qVM/v-deo.html) but he is around 170lbs or so. SPECS wise they are very similar (both 8'8 in length, both 25.5 in width, both 80 gallons, and both weigh about 43-44 lbs). Paddler range on the 5 is 132-198 where the BG says 110-200. I believe the 5 has more of an aggressive/planing hull with sharper rails than the BG and the stern is flatter which enables you to be able to stern load for boofs more. The BG is more of a hybrid hull design and the stern is quite bulbous which makes it harder to stern load and the water pushes you around in some aspect. The BG fits me well out the box and I love the Waka thigh hooks. The 5 is going to be somewhat faster with the full planing hull and a little more playful probably. It has the look of the scorch to me. the BG is going to be slightly slower and probably allow for more time to read and run and a little more forgiving more than likely. So if you want faster more aggressive boat go with the 5 but if you want a more forgiving and somewhat slower boat go with the BG. The small scorch I think will be aggressive as well as I have the medium.
