Not really. Tame Impala is pretty much Kevin, with some members of POND backing him live. The only members of Tame still POND are Nick and Jay. Plus, the sound is completely different. Just because Nick and Cam are in both POND and Allbrook/Avery, doesn't make them 'basically' the same band on different instruments. They're different bands, with different people.
Well if u follow that logic then a lot of band names will be free, how may joy divisions, Warsaw, 13th floor elevators or Velvet underground do we really need?
