Same, everytime a villain won an award, i absolutely love it. Playing a good person is not that hard, but playing a villain? Man, shout out to Skarsgard in nailing his role for playing the most hateable character in the series
He won the award and he could have talked about himself but he didn't take the spotlight from the 5 amazing women on the cast who are obviously the main ones, and he even recognized and thanked his partner on the series Nicole, I respect him so much for that. Very well deserved, he's an incredible actor.
Nicole and him was the reason to watch this show. So glad that both of them won (sorry three of them, don't forget about Laura Dern), totally deserved it!
So thrilled he won and so glad this video is available online. Alex is a class act and it's so wonderful to finally see him getting recognized for his talent.
You do realise he is Swedish, not Muslim, right? Anyway where the hell did the Muslim reference come from? And what does it have anything to do with Alex or the Golden Globes or even BLL?
I'm so happy for him.He is a great man, great actor and I wish him to play in many more series, movies and to win many more trophies. I'm a big fan😘 He is so HANDSOME!❤❤❤
So glad he's getting some good recognition at last been a fan since True Blood but my god I hated Perry he made my skin crawl! He did a fantastic job and as someone who grew up witnessing domestic violence I have to say he was spot on playing the abuser
I felt a little uncomfortable for Keith Urban when Alex thanked and said I love you to Nicole to end his speech. Especially after all the rumors that swirled around about the two of them. But I think Nicole is a very wholesome person and wouldn't cheat. I can't wait to see BLL. I wish it was on Netflix. Reese Witherspoon and Shaliane Woodley and hell every one else in the show are my favorite actors ever. I read the book and LOVED IT so I can only imagine how good the show is
SouthernBelleWhisper You can watch the series in 123movies. I watched it months ago and it is the best piece of acting that I've witnessed in a really long time. Very real and raw acting!
Nicole and Keith have a strong relationship. After all she passed in her life she deserves a man who loves her the way Urban does. So Alex was sweet saying it to her.
BookWormWhisper it was a completely plutonic ‘I love you’ just out of respect & friendship, not in a romantic way, hence why he said it in front of everyone!
Some people are commenting on that. I think that from what I have seen of him he is generally quite reserved, also english is not his first language, so just let him enjoy his moment. The whole night was about empowering women and he did do that in his speech, just maybe not as directly and political as some people would have liked. Honestly, he IS using his platform when addressing DV in his acting career, and he was wearing his pin.
Marines Castellanos oh please, he’s speaking in another accent let alone language than his native people - he seems articulate enough to make another point. But i won’t hold it against him
You're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't. Maybe he was letting the women speak for themselves, this IS their story after all. No woman needs a man to speak for them. I certainly don't. This was an opportunity for the women to stand out, maybe he was respecting that, which I admire him for. Granted, he did play an abuser and it would've been nice to hear more from him, but at least he is supporting the movement. Besides, having been a fan since his early days, I know that he is quite reserved, most of the Skargsards are, and doesn't really talk much, in front of the press, that is unless it's for an interview. I'd take what I can.
Men's silence is the most dangerous thing still keeping the violence and abuse alive in Hollywood (and everywhere else). He should have addressed himself to other men to account to their actions, vowed to work for and with the movement to stop sexual harassment and abuse and call to his male colleagues to do the same. This was his (and also all the other men's at the event) , especially in regard to his role (Kidman addressed and connected her role and reality perfectly) big chance to speak out and break male silence... Too bad he didn't.
In their winning speeches, Nicole Kidman, Laura Derm and David E. Kelley all had the elegance of thanking director Jean-Marc Vallée. Alexander Skarsgård chose to thank an eight-year-old boy, unknown to everyone. Nervousness, I guess ?
I really had mixed feelings too Opscop! Both were great in their roles, and I've been a fan of Alex since True Blood, but David's "Hopper" is fabulous.
LeLievre Foldszin As in writing not all stories are for the sole purpose of entertainment. They also, instruct, persuade and inform. Some do all 4 simultaneously. We don’t live in a back and white world and our stories are not all one thing or another.
Victoria Wood surely you’re not that clueless & are able to separate acting & real life??? It’s an award for his ‘acting’ ability not for the character he played. Plus it’s an important story about domestic abuse, it gives an insight into why it’s so difficult for women to leave their abusers, that everything is not black & white & the effect it has on all their lives! Alexander & Nicole both deserved their awards!
the scene with him and Nicole at the therapist is one of my favourite scenes of all time. The acting in it was astounding!
They ad libbed that scene.
I absolutely hated him on BLL and that goes to show that my dude brought out his A game acting to the table! So deserving.
Same, everytime a villain won an award, i absolutely love it. Playing a good person is not that hard, but playing a villain? Man, shout out to Skarsgard in nailing his role for playing the most hateable character in the series
Alex!! He is so respectful and talented. I'm so happy for him!
Scandinavians are so gorgeous
Haha well I'm swedish, and I can't say that's completely true. Google Bert Karlsson and you'll know what I mean
So true, my friend from France. She said to me scandinavian men so handsome
He won the award and he could have talked about himself but he didn't take the spotlight from the 5 amazing women on the cast who are obviously the main ones, and he even recognized and thanked his partner on the series Nicole, I respect him so much for that. I loved his character on True Blood and feared him on Big Little Lies. Such a talented family.
Nicole and him was the reason to watch this show. So glad that both of them won (sorry three of them, don't forget about Laura Dern), totally deserved it!
i came for reese but stayed for laura dern, she's so entertaining in this role
So thrilled he won and so glad this video is available online. Alex is a class act and it's so wonderful to finally see him getting recognized for his talent.
It's incredible his accent and english ain't his mother tongue. Lucky swedes, hot and commited to nature.
calafeast lol dont belive everything you read...
You do realise he is Swedish, not Muslim, right? Anyway where the hell did the Muslim reference come from? And what does it have anything to do with Alex or the Golden Globes or even BLL?
Aaaaaaan there is always that guy. how can a video about a actor winning a prize become a religious/immigration debate???? how is it even possible?
He is so sweet, polite and humble...amazing actor
And once again my love for Alexander Skarsgård has grown. ❤️❤️
He deserves every bit of it.
Love you Alexander Skarsgård 😘
Floki is proud!
Such a great and humble actor I love him :) And his chemistry on screen with Nicole is amazing ❤
He is absolutely the cutest! I love him and so happy that he won!

A highly deserved honor for a highly respectable man!! Talented, versatile, intelligent, modest...! Gratulation, Alexander! 👏💛
He is polite and respectful 😍
That's sweet for Nicole.
So glad for him! He deserves it!
Toward the end of his part in the show I shuddered to see him; it was so visceral. What an actor.
I've always loved him. I will until my last breath!
I'm so happy for him.He is a great man, great actor and I wish him to play in many more series, movies and to win many more trophies. I'm a big fan😘 He is so HANDSOME!❤❤❤
Delighted for him. Well deserved 👍
It's cute how he mentioned his little brother name
Finaste Alexander, så stolt man känner sig.
Grattis finaste Alexander det gjorde du bra.
Omg he so deserved this 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I love love loveee Alex and I hope to see his beautiful hair back 😍
he seems so nice and charismatic here, plus the thick Swedish accent... makes his performance even more impressive.
Can’t imagine what it musta been like for him to get into the mindset of someone like Perry Right
Well deserved win !
He looks like his brother Gustav on that hair.
His so HOT.
his is
Girl, u need a real man really bad
He said he will probably never work again after playing “the monster” in big, little lies but he will. I really hated him as his character. Congrats!
I didn't know about him before I saw Big Little Lies, but he really deserves the award, he was soooo good (and sexy).
Aww he say it for his lil brother
“Not because you’re more talented than the other girls (you are)..”
Yeah, that was a little cringey.
Wow. He still looks goods even if he is bald. Good choice Nicole.
So glad he's getting some good recognition at last been a fan since True Blood but my god I hated Perry he made my skin crawl! He did a fantastic job and as someone who grew up witnessing domestic violence I have to say he was spot on playing the abuser
He did amazing as Perry
He's charming
Cant wait to see what he does next
Swedish accent? I thought that was a southern accent, ahaha!
there's a drawl, right? I thought he might have picked up most of his English from the south, too. lol
Alexander love you 💜
I LOVE YOU
oh he loves nicole so much 😂😂😂
Omg I hated his character so much. He was so good in it
how abt sorry for literally throwing her character in the air like damn thats actually impressive how strong he is 😭
Eric Northman 😊
I cringe when I see him.. that's how good of an actor he is
His brother is Floki from Vikings.
If men look like this is Sweden, that’s where I need to be! 🤤♥️
He's so cuteeeeeee completely different from Perry
Best Supporting priset betyder ingenting...Ingen vill vara nr 2..
Nicole Kidman finally learned how to clap.
Ahahahaha she explained why she did that at the oscars.
You had to try to find something negative to say didn't you. Do you feel better now ???
I worship this beautiful man. He's not just sexy as hell & hot but he's smart, so funny and talented what a package 💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
Aw the friend is the youngest skarsgard brother
Joan Hollowayyyy
"Hiiii" ..lol

Christina Hendricks
god bless you my men!
❤❤❤❤
After watching the series. I can't look at this guy.
Eric Northman!! 😁😁😁😁
Så söt..

Wow is Nichole married to him
he was awesome in IT
He wasn't in IT
that was his little brother
Hi
Omg my dream hubby! If love to meet him while I'm living in California! Close to LA meet and greet anytime soon?!? Anyone know?
His hair...
What's the name of the actress who presented the award? She looks familiar!
Akashdeep Singh not sure but looked like Christina Hendricks
Josh Dun it was :)
Christina Hendricks known for her role in Mad Men
yeah, I know my readhead beauties:)
Is he Swedish???
He has the weirdest relationship with Nicole Kidman o_O
What a strange comment.
He’s so sweet but awkward 😭
Damn pennywise is this yo bro
Not Pennywise. Bill plays Pennywise, not Alexander
Northman
He is so handsome but Bill Skasgard is the one i go nuts over.
🇸🇪🇸🇪👌👌
Who did he thank at the beggining
Pretty sure it was his 8-year old brother Ossian.
Nicole Kidman forgot to mention him in her speech and he seems the only one not sitting with the cast, I wonder why?
Zac Efron was sitting with the I Tonya cast instead of the greatest showman. It's just a seating thing .
Crystal Ann yes humm?!! Lol!
you've got inside information
i think Laura Dern also sat at a different table. not sure x
why would he have to be at another table because he played an abusive husband?
Lol awk 😂
He played an abuser in this art and had such an opportunity to say something in solidarity with Me Too / Time’s Up...
Some people are commenting on that. I think that from what I have seen of him he is generally quite reserved, also english is not his first language, so just let him enjoy his moment. Marines Castellanos that’s fair but he’s wearing the pin and everything I wish he had just said something or alluded to the theme of the night.

So he won that for IT?
Voarn ooohhh ok. Thanks 👍
Voarn
*Skarsgård :-)
Lol...yes Mattias, we know that, but we don't have those symbols on our keyboards. :)
When you don't have the symbols on your keyboard, you use "aa" instead. So it would be Skarsgaard.
Oh, interesting. I didn't know that.
Alex instead of David Harbour
*makes Winona Ryder and Hugh Jackman faces*
What a creepy speech! Nicole didn't even mention him in her speech! LOL
David Harbour should have won
In their winning speeches, Nicole Kidman, Laura Derm and David E. Kelley all had the elegance of thanking director Jean-Marc Vallée.
Alexander Skarsgård chose to thank an eight-year-old boy, unknown to everyone. Nervousness, I guess ?
That eight-year-old boy Ossian is Alexander's little brother in Sweden. I think it was sweet of Alex to mention his brother in that speech :)
He didn't deserve it. David Thewlis did, with his amazing performance in Fargo.
Completely agree!!
Yes I did, and he was scary I agree, but nothing in comparison with Thewlis. Did you even see Fargo?
Thought David Harbour should have won
Yes, my thoughts too
I really had mixed feelings too Opscop! Both were great in their roles, and I've been a fan of Alex since True Blood, but David's "Hopper" is fabulous.
He is so cool but it is strange to me to win an award for playing sadistic cruel abuser and that such violent stories are considered entertainment.
LeLievre Foldszin As in writing not all stories are for the sole purpose of entertainment. They also, instruct, persuade and inform. Some do all 4 simultaneously. We don’t live in a back and white world and our stories are not all one thing or another.
LeLievre Foldszin I agree. How are we awarding someone for playing an abuser at an event where they claim to stand against such. Shame.
I mean so many awards, Oscars even, have been given to people for Villain esc characters. Its to award the acting not the actions of the character.
Victoria Wood say that again without crying
Victoria Wood surely you’re not that clueless & are able to separate acting & real life??? It’s an award for his ‘acting’ ability not for the character he played. Plus it’s an important story about domestic abuse, it gives an insight into why it’s so difficult for women to leave their abusers, that everything is not black & white & the effect it has on all their lives! Alexander & Nicole both deserved their awards!
This should have gone to David Thewlis! Smh
