I wish the fake reaction was still kept in the game. It would be better than if lots of people are reacting to a corpse, people will think you would be strange if you didnt react.

that was the original reason why he added it to the game. he also thaught it was weird to look emotionless when seeing a dead body. but since that feature didnt work as it was supposted to he removed it.. doing fake reaction made u seem suspicious even when doing it near a dead body so it was basically useless.. even if the idea was actually cool that still made u loose reputation

The hearts while passing time was genuinely a good idea, and it showed how much ayano was obsessed with senpai by being able to pass literal hours just looking at his picture, whilst being subtle. But now it’s just…staring…at a black screen. While the game is continuing development, I feel yandev takes backwards steps with some features

Notification on the top and I say this one because students can be calculated on why they're so hated or loved in reputation and this could be a way to make Ayano known as a clumsy girl Midori voicelines, box of matches, the town biking (probably not for a while), the dancing delinquents, hearts on the phone, the missing posters and the red uniform could definitely be added for a laugh
The reason it’s a black screen is because Senpai might be customised by the player so it makes no sense for her to be staring at a random boys picture.
Throwing matches doesn't look that weird compared to walking to a student while holding a candle... And they both seem like an intentional attempt to set someone on fire so I really don't understand why he changed it. It's not even that unbalanced.
A student holding a candle is regarded as suspicious and your reputation will be reduced by 10. And yes, if you walk up to a student dosed with gasoline and it burns them, students recognize it as a murder. Imo it's kinda unbalanced compared to the throw gasoline using the bucket we have now.
Only logical reason I can think of here, looks a thoussnd times more suspicious to trip and fall with a bucket of gasoline and then throw a match on the victim. For one, it's already considered suspicious carrying a bucket around outside of cleaning time and a bucket of gasoline is very suspicious. Then throwing the match onto the person in front of people is kinda just putting a target on you as a murderer. You could try to hide somewhere in doing so when setting up the door trap, but from Kubz Scouts gameplay with the feature has shown the aim to be very sensitive. The candle is meant to be set down under the trap to draw suspicion away from you and makes it more accessible to the player. Walking into the victim with the candle in front of people is definitely very revealing, but the matches didn't provide the challenge of witnesses reacting to it as a murder which made it inbalanced and op. That's the best reason I can think of.

the worst thing yandere dev did was removing the mechanic of the teachers chasing you down after they saw you commiting murder. it was so fun to run away from them, i kinda miss it a lot but i have to admit that it didn't have any logic xd

idea for the fake reaction: Only allow the fake reaction when there is that popup at the top that says near body. Lower the opacity and dont allow ayano to use it until she is near a body.
I remember when Coryxkenshin played the early builds of the game and would always do the biking to school bit, and would usually make a joke out of crashing because yan-Chan was thinking about Senpi or another related subject. The good old days
Cory probably had my favorite Yan Sim playthrough, and Kubz Scouts is my second favorite, just love it when people make a game without much content into a whole series just from making up dialogue and stories (Kubz Scouts had the entire Mythbusting series and Cory had an entire separate story with Yandere-Chan and the Basu Sisters)
The matches were honestly not an unbalanced mechanic. The trip and fall mechanic was removed already, eliminating any chance of burning someone in any place you wanted, but in actuality, that's a lie too. Because the *dressing room* is completely deserted! Candle or matches, you can just stroll in, burn your rival and go, or clean up the body, whatever you want. If anything, the dressing room is an unbalanced game mechanic!
Also, doesn't make much sense to have a candle instead, it wouldn't even stay lit up from all the running the player has to do and if students witnessed Ayano carrying it, it would instantly make her suspicious if a burnt body was found

I loved Musume's old task. Made more sense to me than the new one I just don't see why musume would be incapable of finding a girl sitting on a bench. I think the missing posters should instead be moved to the Photography Club’s room because they become “junior detectives” when the school atmosphere is low because of murders, so I believe that they would become invested in a case when they find out one of their classmates went missing and was last seen at Akademi.
I think that the "sewing club" was a very clever idea, imagine if u could befriend a sewing club member and so they can sew u a uniform because u basically finished their task or smth

It wasnt a bug, the feature was made to only work for murder-suicide elimination method and be suspicious to students when used in every other situations, so if you used it when you see a body, the game was programmed to make students suspicious of you
the missing posters could be a good idea for the town if ayano cleared all the evidence and the posters can be on the windows but if there’s a lot of “missing” people then some of the missing posters can be on the ground

way later than this comment was posted, but i agree. he removed many harmless and enjoyable features because it was too "Cringey" or most likely because he thought it would make people take the game less seriously (like the hearts while passing time feature, for example) a genuinely good feature and detail, but he seems like he wants to be taken so seriously over a simulator game

Tbh I don't see the point of a missing student poster in the school. It'd make more sense for missing person/student posters to go outside near the school because literally only the students are in the school. If it's outside more people will be able to spread intel (and ik technically the protag KNOWS their dead or in their basement but it would make sense realistically)
Wasn't there an old animation to throw bodies in the incinerator when a few builds had the incinerator in front of the school before the Gym Teacher was added? I think that was 1 of the things you missed.
One feature that was removed: the evil persona. Yui Rio had this persona back in 2016. If Ayano killed someone in front of her she would approve the murder and tell Ayano that she would keep her secret. Although it was removed and replaced by the "Spiteful" persona.
It was technically not removed though. It was changed and reworked into the "Spiteful persona" which works the same as long as the student hates or sees no worth in the student they saw you kill. This personality is still in the game as Borupen has it.
it kinda was because it was poking fun at fans and making reference to him as an "overworked programmer" as if he doesn't do that to himself, so he probably felt awkward about the acknowledgement after a while, who knows..

tbh the game dident need to have MOST of those things removed some of them where surprisingly a cool feature and didn't need to be removed if he looked into his game more and tried helping/fixing the issues. If its making too many bugs try researching why items do that and how before a toothbrush was your biggest file size...

Yeahhhh-- the main issue with Covid-chan was that she was wearing traditional Chinese garb which was insensitive to the entire situation and how asian/Chinese people were facing hate due to COVID-19 being blamed on them whereas Ebola-chan is just a pink/white outfit swap with stylized hair and a nurse hat, not traditional garb of places heavily affected by Ebola. Both were still really bad and that the fans even wanted COVID-19-chan anyways.
i hope the warning screen makes a comeback. It's awesome, and it's a fun way to tell people this is the last chance to get away from this nightmare, and adds a bit more personality to the game

You know... The fake reaction would also highlight lore in ayano's background all together. It wouldn't just be a cool function. Ayano used to act like a normal person when she was a child but her parents later found out she was faking it. Ayano should know how to fake reactions really good if she kept her parents fooled for so long. Plus, it's a very sensible function.
Yeah and I mean in Ayano's backstory, it always talked about how she learnt to pretend to be normal and that was one of the only features within the game that acknowledge that (along side the persona mirror).

Back then, when Yan-chan’s reputation is way too low like -100 (i dont really remember) but if it’s too low, Yan-Chan will start seeing some shadows laughing at her. Walking into the victim with the candle in front of people is definitely very revealing, but the matches didn't provide the challenge of witnesses reacting to it as a murder which made it inbalanced and op.

The matches were honestly not an unbalanced mechanic. The trip and fall mechanic was removed already, eliminating any chance of burning someone in any place you wanted, but in actuality, that's a lie too. Because the *dressing room* is completely deserted! Candle or matches, you can just stroll in, burn your rival and go, or clean up the body, whatever you want.
If anything, the dressing room is an unbalanced game mechanic!
Also, doesn't make much sense to have a candle instead, it wouldn't even stay lit up from all the running the player has to do and if students witnessed Ayano carrying it, it would instantly make her suspicious if a burnt body was found

One of the bugs with the fake reaction was that it immediately got you caught for some reason.
It wasnt a bug, the feature was made to only work for murder-suicide elimination method and be suspicious to students when used in every other situations, so if you used it when you see a body, the game was programmed to make students suspicious of you

It'd make more sense for missing person/student posters to go outside near the school because literally only the students are in the school. That was a placeholder animation until an actual carry and dump into incinerator animation could be made.
One feature that was removed: the evil persona.
Yui Rio had this persona back in 2016. If Ayano killed someone in front of her she would approve the murder and tell Ayano that she would keep her secret. Although it was removed and replaced by the "Spiteful" persona.
It was technically not removed though. It was changed and reworked into the "Spiteful persona" which works the same as long as the student hates or sees no worth in the student they saw you kill. This personality is still in the game as Borupen has it.

I always wonder about that one feature whether if it got removed or not. Back then, when Yan-chan’s reputation is way too low like -100 (i dont really remember) but if it’s too low, Yan-Chan will start seeing some shadows laughing at her. I saw it a few times before it disappeared, i dont see any videos about it anymore tho.
It is still in the game, just most people don't let their reputation get that low anymore.
