I like it but I like to really exaggerate my hackle so it flows back more naturally. That looked like a web cockerel hackle. I like to use soft hackle. Tied well explained well and it is a nice fly. Many fish will take it for food. Tight lines. Sean
+Sean Mooney soft hackle buggers are great as well, and have lots of movement. I do tie them that way as well. However this is the most common way to tie and the original way, so that's why I chose this approach. Many of my viewers that are new to tying might not have as much luck with the soft hackle as it does tend to take a little more planning when palmering. In fact I think they even call a soft hackle bugger by another name, though I don't remember what that is off the top of my head. I'd love to see your versions as well, can you send me a picture or upload it on this messenger? You do nice work, at least from what I've seen so far. It's a nice thing to see others takes on flies.
I do not work outside my home presently but I have 24 hour care for a dying loved one. I haven't much time unless I am up overnight keeping her safe. I just use over sized Hen feathers from a cape. I like to share my take on a fly, and I love to compare to some flies I see. All the best, Sean

Another thing you could do is tie the hackle in when you tie in your chenille and move it forward up the shank and tie it in that way love the videos man keep it up

I like to put more lead wire and to tie on the chenille at the front and then bring my thread back over the chenille until it reaches the back and wrap it forward then
I noticed something. Everyone that says something negative about someone that is tying a fly has no video of him/her tying a fly. Ohh wait it because they don't want other leaving negative comments on their video. I love the fly just the way it is, GREAT JOB
In all honesty, there isn't a fly tying video out there that isn't boring. They don't have action, half naked girls, or drama. At least they aren't supposed to. They are instructional only. And well, that can be boring especially for those who don't fish or tie flies themselves.
Constructive criticism, but most tying videos do not include fishing it. We are fortunate that McFly does a water shot. I have no criticism for any tyers, you got the guys to put it up, I am going to say thank you.
Sure, I do fly fishing video's as well, and always show what fly the fish hit. Check them out! I think one of them has me fishing this fly. But, for the fly tying videos, its just underwater footage to see how it moves. Something I do with all my new ties. :)

I know it may be for a different application, but have you tried te adhesive lead tape they sell at golf shops? It is thinner than the stuff you get at the fly shop and less money as well.

I just went back and re-watched the video. Yes there is underwater footage, at the very end. The fly was under water and moving in the water. Two passes. One even strip, the other with a jigging motion.

Do you tie yet Troutaholic? Cabelas sells a pattern kit for the wooly bugger, you just need to add the weight. Not sure if that will help you.
