- What is Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls?
Castlevania GoS is currently the newest entry in the series. Published & made by Konami, this game continues the long established Castlevania continuity far ahead into its future. It takes place after the two titles "Aria of Sorrow" and "Dawn of Sorrow" specifically, however the game features characters and elements from MANY CV games throughout its long history.
Originally released in 2019, the game shut down soon after due to lack of support and was considered cancelled before it could finish releasing all of its content. For more information about the games history and complete original release, check out my first video on the game

- How is Grimoire of Souls back and how can I play it?
Grimoire of Souls was announced to be coming back to life as an Apple Arcade exclusive on August 13th, 2021 and released on the service soon after next month on September 17th.
Very different from its original counterpart, the game now has its complete story and content with refined visuals and flair throughout the experience.
As of now the game is exclusive to Apple Arcade. So, to play it requires an apple devise & a subscription to the monthly service. Kinda sucks, I know.
- Why are you playing through the game?
For the first phase of my Grimoire of Souls project I've decided to go through this game live here on the channel one chapter at a time. This is to record my genuine thoughts, reactions, and experience for my follow up video providing a complete review & retrospective. Once this playthrough is finished, that video will begin production.
I also just wanted to try live streaming for the first time and experience this game with you all. Its been very fun and I've learned SO MUCH thus far lol.

This has been a long haul for over... _2 months now,_ though I really wish Konami did a complete overhaul on this game's style of progression and made it at least *interconnected* to match the quality of other *Apple Arcade games...* _this is the best we got and probably the best Konami is ever going to give us,_ what Overture
Fun facts: there's over _approximately_ 123 Doujinshi of Castlevania, _half of it is Yaoi of_ Alucard and Trevor, Soma and Jonathan, Mathias and Leon and Richter and Dracula. Castlevania N64 characters are either the most popular or one of the top fan favorites in Japan... _if we don't count the obvious_

Lol, I never thought of Demonic Meggido as a DBZ-style of attack, but it actually is now that I think about it.
Now that I’m thinking about it, it’s a little bit like Vegetas final stand during the Buu saga. Being enveloped in that huge surge of energy, even here the blast is a similar shape haha (although on a much smaller scale ofc 😆)
Finished rewatching the stream as I had missed a lot from the _beginning_ of it and some of the finale, and I gotta say... to me this final Chapter felt like a true conclusion to Castlevania's story, even without IGA's involvement (don't crucify me pls lol), all that's lead up to the final conflict with the heroes facing against maybe the strongest Dracula we've seen to date, and then Alucard's parting words with his father was the cherry on top of all...
Thank you for streaming your playthrough of this game, it really made things a million times more enjoyable going through it with the commentary and perspective of an avid fan of the series
Also, that Big Battle arrange was quite the surprise for me lol, in an earlier version of GoS, Dracula's second phase used The Arcade's arrange of Black Night (Drac's second theme from Cv1), which honestly did fit, but the new arrange is thematically a lot better (ofc, because it's also his second Cv3 theme, haha), it has that slow yet dramatic sound to really make you feel like it's the finale, gotta love when Dracula's classic battle themes get kickass arranges!
No worries lol, I actually agree! Despite no involvement from IGA they still paid SO MUCH tribute to his continuity… imo they created a very fun story through it. It’s definitely been one of if not THE best aspect of this entire experience. I WISH the ending was much more definitive, since this can be considered the final chapter of the Castlevania Timeline… but it was still really solid for what they showed. I’ll have to spend a big chuck of the review delving into the Timeline & Story 😆

And YES the remix is sssoooo good. The few new remixes/songs they did for this game are legitimately great. I was listening to them online yesterday and WOAH! Big Battle especially. This whole chapter felt like a final battle celebrating the series with Draculas Curse as the battlefield. This game, with all its problems, certainly has its moments
I was digging through Netflix twitter, they said Nocturne will take inspiration from Rondo and SOTN. Remembering the shit they've done to Alucard and Hector, and Trevor also kinda overshadowed by side characters, I'm really worried.
Uh-oh. Like I said I’m a huge Alucard fan & I don’t even want Nocturne to focus on him lol. Richter and the story of Rondo of Blood has so much to pull from… really hope they do good with the story and use the source material to make something good.
@@StockeTepes Hope so... I just hope they do Richter better than what they did to Trevor. No hate to Isaac, he is great, but it saddens me that I often see ppl care about him more than the actual protagonist.
I guess, I don't mind either if Alucard isn't the focus in Nocturne. I just think that, it will also be a great oportunity for them to develop his character more considering they also take SoTN as the source material. He is one of the weaker part of the previous show (post s2) unfortunately.

I do hope Alucard is prominent once they adapt SotN but I’d love for them to focus on Richter and the others before that… it might be a little too early to speculate since we don’t know how they’ll handle it 😆 but I’m excited to see. It's been a fun journey watching you stream this game, seeing all the character interactions and the Streamlore that we developed. Still one thing to remember: Konami Sucks
It’s been great, this definitely marks the end of a journey. Really enjoyed the experience! I’m not quite done with Grimoire just yet but this play through has been one that’s shaped my experience playing it majorly. The stream lore is so much now haha was awesome to see develop. If Dracula can be redeemed, maybe Konami can as well… I’ll always have a little bit of hope

Leon and Christopher not being there makes sense story wise because their histories are either non-existent or barely around. The other four however? No clue what they weren't summoned considering how powerful they were against the forces of Darkness.
I’m going to talk about its missed potential a good amount in the big video I’m working on but yes, it’s a shame more characters didn’t show up. If the title had originally succeeded as a live service, I bet it might’ve.
I’m super late to the party, but I finished watching this series a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it!
Except, where’s the review? It’s been over a year since you streamed this game (and since you lasted posted a non-stream video, for that matter) and you still haven’t finished the GoS review.
Honestly it’s been an on and off project I’ve been working on since this stream, and I never would’ve expected it to turn into what it has. It’s become the biggest project I have ever worked on in my life, and the script is over 50 pages now as I refine it to the final draft. I’m going to show you guys a teaser hopefully within the next few weeks and FINALLY finish what we started here 😈
