I’ve been listening to way too much Chet Baker recently. But just want to say a huge thanks to Mary and Steve, the best parents I’ve ever had 😂 getting organised and those engines purring means I can crack on with my rigging and getting my mast up.
Your socks and flipflops are fine.. Anyone who moans about them are obviously foot fetishists frustrated 😅. The music in the other hand is not my cup of tea.. Did you ask your AI music generator to compose tunes in the style of 1970s low budget detective TV shows? I'm not the only one who feels this way..Chet Bakers neighbours obviously felt strongly about his " music" which they had to 'endure'.👀 The boat is coming along nicely. Your parents are wonderful people. The plants really freshen up the place. Ger a code wallet and I'll send you some money Mark.
You are an absolut fantastic little family! I can just visualise that day where your parents visiting you in some beautiful anchorage in the Caribbean sipping your sundowners as the sun sets behind the palm trees. Well done all of you!
Congratulations, you've come a long way in the last year and you now have quite some skills to finish the boat already sailing. Your parents are real treasures
Although your parents are so helpful the tremendous amount of work you put into the project is now more and more visible. Congrats on your motors working now kind of reliable.
I admire how much your Mum & Dad support your endeavor. You are so lucky they do! And, don't sell yourself short - you've covered amazing ground on your own as well!
I am a 58 year old father of three boys 18, 20, and 22 and I can tell you nothing brings me more joy than to help them on what ever projects they are working on, there isn't anything I wouldn't do for them. I can see that your father is like me, he has unconditional love that brings so much joy. It is easy to see how proud your parents are of you. Speaking of proud my youngest son just graduated today, tears of joy!
We are just the same. Our daughter, 27, is expecting her first one and we travel a lot just to spend time with them and help with the work around the house. Our son, 25, bought a house near to us and no job is to much. We both had parents who helped were they could and thats how we like to do it as well. It doesn't have to cost money, helping hands are free.
The boat is looking great! I love the colors your mum chose for the floors. Your parents are legends and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Awesome job!!
so nice to see your mum and dad down there helping you they do such great work your mum has made your home much more like a nice place to live for you.
Mark Your Mom and Dad are the best, like your little tea break cups on deck, nice touch from your Mom on decorating and your Dad's mechanical skills, see where you get your talent's from. Great Parents great Son. Catermaran is looking good. Bill Niagara Falls, Canada
Parents work ethic and accents are gold and worth bottling. I miss mine but we learn so much from them without realising, and they are gone too soon. I look forward to your 'family' sail before too long
Hi lovely progress. When you start sailing nothing will stay put on the selves; you will need to fix items in place . Cups would be hanging hooks .the plants will end up on the floor use Velcro to fix in place . Food items need to be boxes and fixed securely to the shelf .A ll clothing in waterproof bags otherwise you will end up with damp and mouldy clothing . Add humidifier is a practical weapon against the damp .Bread maker for fresh bread as bread can go mouldy very quickly . Good keep going Nicky and Gus
After this complete rebuilding you are obviously ready to repair anything on your catamaran. Lucky fellow to have such mum and dad ! Standing ovation !
Your mum and dad are a formidable team, I don’t think there is too much that could beat them , the project is looking great and I can’t wait for the stepping of the mast
Mums have the ability to make wherever you are feel like home. The feeling getting into the cabin after she‘s done her magic must have been pure happiness.
So great that your parents come over and help you out. Its been bugging me for some weeks that the boat needs a bit of a clean-up so the combination of your fantastic mum and a bottle of CIF (the best boat cleaning product) has worked wonders.
Your dad is getting so used to working on engines over water, he'll move his next car project out over the pool. Boat is really coming along, looking great!
I've never heard Chet Baker, but listen to whatever you have to to keep Mum and Da happy! you have awesome parents- like I aspire to be a parent like them for my girls! Truly special and it's clear the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree! Keep grinding!
Little tip for drilling clean holes with a hole saw. Drill through like normal until the center drill bit pokes through but the outer saw part of the bit hasn't gone through yet then flip over to the other side, use the hole for the center and it will line up perfectly to finish off drilling the full hole and give you nice clean edges on both sides of the hole.
Steve and Mary, you are the parents that every man/woman would truly love to have as their own. You are so loving, so helpful and so much fun. Mark I can see where you get your compassion, your manners and you willingness to “have a go” at anything that stands in your way. My congrats to all three of you and I truly enjoyed this video and watching the interactions between you all.
Mark once again i say you're folks are just champions. Love the Mickey Mouse on your mum's jumper. Her little flower signature & your dad;'s spanner are just priceless & should remind you of their support and love whenever you look at it. Inspiration right there. Enjoyed the video as always. cheers
Mark, I just love this episode's music and movie star Mary❣ Yep, Mahi's a beauty and your parents are the best -- truly look forward to, as well as enjoy, their guest appearances on your show, and as always, your film work fabulous. That'll more than do Dad 🔧your wall art is perfect. 😎
You have come a long way Mark! I’m so impressed with all you’ve done and learned . It’s really shaping up to be the beauty you imagined. Blessings and Light. Kathy
We really enjoyed this episode. Super intersting and the video was edited really nicely. You will need a seacock on the sink, even though it is above the waterline in static water. Your folks are always amazing and I’m loving Chet Baker.
Your Mum and Dad are just great. You should install a check valve on the through hull; check valve above the waterline, shut off valve below the waterline.
Amazing Mark, we are thrilled over the amount you have accomplished on this project in such a short period of time. You all deserve a round of applause for this epic refit and we all are praying for your success in the future.
Hi Mark, Loking good buddy. Mum has made it all look cosy inside. Even though you are not in a monohull you will need to take Nicky’s suggestion to fix your stuff down before sailing. Whenever I leave a marina to go coastal or offshore I am always forgetting something that goes crashing to the floor. For storage jars use Velcro superglued to the wall/bulkhead next to a shelf. Works a treat.
I never miss an episode. Your parents are magnificent folk, and I'm amazed at how your Mum adapts to woodwork tasks. I wanna see those masts up and rigged!
Being tidy is so important for feeling the progress and to help in finding things. When I’m untidy I spend more time searching for tools and bolts etc than actually fitting them; also when I can’t find something I gave tended to re-buy it, thus doubling the cost and space taken.
Your sailboat is really coming along nicely. I too wear socks with sandals, with no regard for anyone's opinion. Having that attitude is one of the benefits of getting "old". Good for you for adopting that outlook at a young age.
Very German as well... 😉 if you wear leather insoles sandals then you know they are going to suffer if you're a bloke and you don't wear socks.🫢 Plastics ok you can wash them but horrible to walk any distance in 😂. Anythings better than cold feet or sunburned feet.
its only when you look at the before and after that you realise how much it changed, you done a great job Mark and you are lucky to have such great parents. i wish you all the best.
There should be a non-return valve in the hose, at least, even better, additionally, would be a through hull fitting with a ball valve so that you can close it at sea.
Yup Skipper, She does look really nice. ALOT better than a year ago. I know you could pull her together again. Cant wait to see her breaking through the waves. Its going to be grand. Carry on Skipper.

Your Mum & Dad are absolute rockstars. Enjoy every chance you have to spend with them. Time is fleeting. Ive lost both of mine.
You've got two brilliant parents, you are so lucky.
