      Grats on the purchase, though I feel like you enjoyed the FXLRS much more.

      He definitely would have enjoyed a big twin much more. But, it seems that the UK doesn't have any riding worth a damn. Always rainy, I sure am glad I'm not confined on that island. Those poor people.

    I have a 2016. It's crazy that they put different exhausts on in different countries. The US exhaust is pretty restrictive but it seems like the euro bike is even more so. I put the Bassani Firepower 3" exhaust on within the first 500 miles. The forward controls took a minute to get used to but now I think I'm going to get a 2" extension kit. There is nothing like riding a recliner through the twisties. I'd also have to agree with you on the mirrors. I really like their positioning. this is my first bike and I know there are faster, torquier alternatives from Indian and Victory but to me, the 48 is the best looking cruiser available today. I think it'll still be beautiful in 20 years.

      It's funny since buying the 48 I now can't stand mid controls and love forward controls! Lol

      Thank you for the video. I am strongly considering a 48 and the comments in this section are SO helpful!
      I'm 5'8'' and needed some kind of reference to see how I'd fit on the 48 and determine whether to get forward or mid controls, glad to see you addressed that. I've heard comments that Sportsters have the stigma of being, "Chick Bikes," any truth to that?

    As you said that the 48 is the Iron that went to the gym and taken juice, the 48 did not do cardio in the gym so the iron can run for longer

      +Duke 69 48 all the way buddy 👍... I've had the iron as well both 2016 models. The 48 wins hands down in my opinion

    Do you find the small tank limiting at all? What sort of milage do you get from a tank full?

    • @Motonewbrider
      @Motonewbrider  8 років тому +1

      No not really, I plan my journeys with petrol stations in mind - in fact when I'm on a group ride the lads and ladies with the larger tanks always dock in to the pump at around 50 mile. I get around 60 - 75 miles per tank

      Thanks for your reply. I had a Sportster Nightster for a while, so similar milage I think. Have just had a look at your Roadster Vlog, very interested in that. Will have to organise a test ride.

    Whats it like for taller riders? Im 6.3...

    • @Motonewbrider
      @Motonewbrider  8 років тому

      To be honest my mate is 6,4 and he rides the iron. Honestly he does look tall on the bike but with the 48 you have forwards which give you less height as your legs are stretched out. Always advise to try and see what you think. If your happy go for it 👍

      I love in the U.S. and my final decision came down to the Harley 48 or the 2017 Triumph Bonneville Bobber. Also a 1200. I bought the Triumph. No regrets. I love it.

    Good honest review. I hate those stock pipes and HD is obligated by law to put those baffles with catalytic converter on the bike. Slip-ons or a complete system is a must. Take a look at mine ua-cam.com/video/kOernbHMrAw/v-deo.html I have added many customizations and the V&H Grenades sound awesome! I only need to add a few more things and I'm done.
