its called ranger raptor globally, i have one in code orange! loving it
I love my 3rd Gen Colorado Trailboss for its looks and the wkr it can do, but the one thing it surely is not and that is fun to drive. I tried putting a JB4 in it to see if that made a difference and it just makes it pull harder above 3500rpm. I think Jack nailed why and it is the transmission is slow. It just is in no hurry to hustle no matter how much power you make with it.
10 years ago, this was max spec GT500 money, for a Ranger. The condition the undercarriage already too, can’t imagine what it will look like in 5-10 years 💀
Probably a good idea keeping Mark away from this one after the original Ranger review.
why because he speaks for normal minded ppl? ppl who dont think trucks/vehicles should be this expensive?
Sounds like sh1t
@@Scypher0th Well this isn't a normal truck. It's a truck for people who want to spend this much money on a truck. People were blowing 100k on aftermarket parts and labor for their trucks long before Raptors existed.
@@GuyGamer1 That's a good point.
@@Scypher0th normal-minded people are not buying top RAPTOR trim trucks. It's a discretionary, utterly optional decision. This is for someone who is deliberately willing to pay a lot more than base to get a ton of capability and looks.
Surprised this is on the same platform as the old truck. I assume there have been some changes like extra welds or whatever, but do not understand why they would not spend the money to engineer an entirely new platform. Especially for such a lucrative, popular category of product.
Why is the prop shaft already rusted? Will this last another 5 years?
What's the deal with the odd panhard linkage in the rear - why two bars interconnected via a central pivot attached to the axle?
Let's just celebrate that Michael Brecker is the sax player on that Ford commercial at the start of this video.
Well done, agreed with your points. I loved mine
Loved?
@@ShrekDzz yah I had to sell for personal reasons unfortunately.
The Ranger does not have “reinforced steering” it comes with the same motor that all the rangers and broncos come with. It also has the small 14mm tie rods that are prone to failure. Ford is giving the ford performance 3.0 in all badlands and up broncos but despite this being a ford performance produce they did not put a ford performance rack in it.
I've heard whining about the tie rods on the broncos since they came out. I've beat the living chit out of my bronco at the dunes, never had an issue.
These are everywhere in Australia😂 keeps winning car of the years🎉
What happened to the 6 in the Nissan Frontier.
Still exists, they just forgot about it. Or they were being specific to the “mini super truck” category in which Nissan doesn’t play
@@upshifter5316mini super truck
The song in the intro is what you hear in a horror movie as the camera pans to a body dripping with blood
Good video! How far are the front seats pushed back? Is the front that cramped unless seats pushed far back?
A 5.6 liter V8 Frontier Nismo/SE-R/GT-R whatever would be so sick, but alas. Maybe Nissan will put the new twin turbo v6 in the Frontier but I doubt it.
@@Arkeo36 Nissan doesn’t have the development budget for that
It would be nice if you could get it in the super cab and v-8
Any plans to review the Mach-E Rally?
(And related 2024 updates? Maybe waiting for 2025 with further changes?)
Hello sir, is it wet belt system?
Any issues with cabin fit and finish? I have heard about some interior quality issues.
My mind still hasn't updated to accept what things cost these days. Unreal that $60k is now a bargain in this category. Cheers to the government for devaluing all of our paychecks and savings. Bang up job.
Central banks are not government
My bad mate. I didn't realize the central banks signed off on all the spending bills.
I sure do feel represented.
@@Davorox1 Money creation mainly occurs on the local/regional bank level. Read a book sometime
@@ADUSNYou say that they aren't in cahoots.
@@DragonKnightX12 Sure they are, but that's beside the point.
whats w/ the sound?
You guys need to get your hands on a Gen 1 F-150 Raptor.
Why is it sooo rusty underneath the truck 🤔... cant believe they allowed you guys to show the truck in that condition
Does this have ventilated seats yet?
Good luck finding somewhere to do all that spirited driving
This it how the raptor project should have gone
Ranger raptor =3.5 eco boost
150 Raptor / Bronco= 5.0 Coyote
150 Raptor R = 5.2 super charged
It's a decent price for what you get but how many recalls will there be in first year of ownership? That is the big question bc i would be pissed to pay that much for a vehicle and then it be in shop for a month.
Why is there so much rust under a new truck? The drive shaft looks totally covered in rust even at the knuckles.
Some alloys develop surface rust but don't rust through. Usually high strength high carbon steel. It's a drive shaft, not a body panel or frame element.
So are we just going to ignore all that rust AND the plastic oil pan?
It's superficial
How good is the lane keep assist? Does it actually center you in your lane or is it twitchy?
Can’t wait to see these doing donuts at the local mall parking lot!
Challenge, take a shot every time Jack says "fun"
I like these, but $60K is wild. I get that the price of cars are never going to go down and between the companies and stealerships they’re going to goosestep over consumers because they can, but that doesn’t make the situation-where they could still be offering this and other offerings for $30K still and be making profits but prefer the new Greedflation model-right, morally or financially.
What's sad is it's the same drivetrain as the Bronco Raptor and that's 80-90k. Makes the Ranger a steal and probably why so many Bronco Raptor are sitting on lots.
$30k with union labor? Bruh…
@@UA-camuser1aa Betcha he'll also complain if it's made some place like mexico
$30k is probably how much it would cost you to build your own Raptor...lol
$55k msrp is probably a pretty fair price for a truck that can tackle Baja and rally courses from the showroom floor.
Jack - which sunglasses are you wearing? I’d like them for my face.
Bargain?!? Quit normalizing absurdly high car \ truck prices.. $60k+ for a mid size truck is far from a bargain!
Crazy how expensive these things are. Ive never bought a vehicle over 30k. This thing sure did not cost 60k to make so all you are doing is paying for Fords lack of quality control.
Wow I never knew research & development costs money 😮
Research and development? This thing likely being 2x the capability of anything you bought? The stupid amounts of inflation? None of that plays a role in your eyes?
Next time you visit the car dealership, you have have to lower those standards. That $30k doesn't go anywhere these days.
$55k is definitely a good price.. Definitely affordable. The F-150 Raptor is $80k if you want the Raptor R is $113k.. Getting one this year😎
The underside shows an amazing amount of surface rust.
$60K? I bought a brand F-150 Raptor for $59k in 2021.
Left over gen 2?
It was a 2 door so cheaper than the 4 door.
All the Americans who can’t afford homes anymore resort to the next best thing sports cars/trucks.
Land value tax would solve that
You don't mention the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X... how come? Do you consider this a different class of truck?
That drive shaft looks like it’s from pull a part
I have a RR being built right now (well Ford claims its "In Production" anyway). I currently have a '23 F150 Raptor which i love. I live in a relatively urban/suburban area of New England and the RR just seems to be a little bit more practical for my life. Fortunately I am way above water when it comes to what i owe on my current Raptor so affording the RR isn't an issue. I am curious if anyone has made that transition from an F150 Raptor to the RR and how that has been...? Thanks in advance.
Just took out an 84 month $1200 a month loan to get mine
Well that was stupid! 🤣
How much is the insurance?
$1200 into the S&P 500 over 7 years would make you about $160k at 10%.
