- Some experimental archaeology to view as Potted History fires the roman pottery kiln at the fort of Vindolanda just south of #hadrianswall ##archaeology if you wish to more please visit www.pottedhist...
Brilliant, as always, Pete. Particularly enjoyed watching Graham's kiln-packing technique. He must be ace at Tetris. And, of course, the sausages. Mmmmm.
Yes it’s fun seeing how it all fits together, we provided carrots for the veggies
Hi Pete, thank so much for providing the film. Always enjoy the information you provide about the times when the Romans ruled England. May I ask to leave the text visible a bit longer. Secondly, would love to hear more facts from you about the process, kiln sizes, clay used, what wood was burned, a.s.o. Thank you. Greetings from the US.
Hi, thanks very much, I’ll look at the text again, I shot the footage for Graham who is going to use it for educational purposes so I kept the info to a lower level, I’m sure he’ll be releasing a technical video with details on firing times etc, he’s at www.pottedhistory.co.uk/
Great video, once again. Took me right back to the 1980s and the ‘experimental archaeology’ born of Rescue archaeology
❤❤❤ THE BEST OF KILNS! I'LL MAKE A SAME!!! 🤩🤩🥰🥰🤩🤩
Judging by the way the SLATE was put on the roof I'd question other things...
Great stuff! I'll stick with the air drying clay for now as I'm not sure the wife would appreciate a kiln in the back garden.
