I like all the bands from the Grunge era but musically and lyrically, I think STP reached a higher level. Love they still continue to make music with Jeff.
Besides saying that it's a good album, I'd like to highlight the cover photography. A melancholic image, in a monochromatic palette, a towering tree evoking feelings of calm, distant memories, and nostalgia for days gone by. Great photography.
"I didn't know the Time" is an absolute masterpiece. Wow. I'm a big fan of STP but I didn't realize they had put out a couple of albums since I had last checked. Gives "Shangri-La Dee Da" vibes. This is really special stuff.
This album has literally changed my life. It's the album I put on which will make me feel better no matter what's going on in my life. That's a rare thing. Thank you STP! A masterpiece.

Mystical, precious, beautiful, wonderful, there's no words to describe this record, is like it brought it out of someone dreams, very unique and gypsy sound, stuck in my head and thoughts never get tired of it.
It's funny that "Perdida" means something/someone that has been lost. I'm not sure what he meant with this but, I'm truly impressed with what I'm hearing so far. I liked!
It is hard for a band to recover after losing a member. Many can't at all. However, it sounds like you found someone with a measure of the spirit and talent of who you lost. I'm glad you are keeping on with STP. You're one of my favorite bands. Thank you.

Album like Tiny Music... already indicated that departure, but they were able to come back to their signature sound. This is on the other hand complete escape to some melancholic mellow land👎👎
Remarkable album. Beautifully written. First time I listened, it moved me to tears. Can't even remember the last time music did that to me. There is so much richness in the music and lyrics. Didn't even know how much I needed this. I've been a fan of STP from the beginning . Its still STP but evolved. RIP Scott

We’re all growing older and constantly evolving. But at the same time we will hold on to what makes us what we are. This album exemplifies that in a big way.
Listen to the classics and newer stuff. This album is great. Newer singer sounds like Scott never left. Curious to see if they ever come out with a rocking album but stp loungecore is pretty great
Robert proves again that he is an awesome bass player!! Wow!! I’m a 57 YO life long drummer and Mr. Kretz is fortunate to play with this guy!! The way he and Dean intertwine has always been special, one of the reasons I’ve been a fan since the beginning.
I said it on the last record but this one really drives it home, how can you not fuck with THIS band? Scott was a juggernaut and moving on should have been impossible, instead these guys have done it twice while respecting every mile it took to get here. I love stp.

love it when grunge/hard rock bands having their acoustic moments.. (or maybe just listening to Beck before entering the studio). Great album, lot's of talent, the guitar, vocals, general vintage mood, sound, the flute (!) everything about this piece.

Seeing Dean on Tone Talk Friday was such an inspiration. Bravo gentlemen, while derivative this album is fresh and a magnificent contribution. You all have become real men, and this album is pure heart. Thank you for such a real contribution in the midst of all this chaos. We love you.
I must admit, I got addicted to STP late in life (45 yrs old). Now that I have gone through the things he's been through, I can totally relate and sympathize with Scott. He left the world a broken man. As the band previously and aptly said, his gift was also his curse. I'm gonna listen to STP albums for the rest of my adult life.

@Arsene Lupin III I have a feeling a lot of these songs were already musically written and possibly were supposed to be on Shangri-la when it was supposed to be a double album. I would have loved to see what Scott could have done with them especially if he didn’t go off and do Velvet Revolver. If only he could have stayed clean and healthy :(
Not heavy musically at all but heavy as hell in the lyrics. A true mix of nostalgia and melancholy. A real dig into the soul. As a rock fan I expected more punch in the electric guitars, but as a STP fan, I'm very pleased. Thanks for keep going STP.
STP purposely put this 'mellow' album out.most songs are about Scott and saying goodbye to him. Also the pain that Eric, Dean and Robert endure trying to help Scott. There was a deep bond among them. Scott continuously alienated him self after each relapse and rehab. I could see this happening by his behavior on stage at their concerts. I could see that Robert had some resentment towards Scott you really didn't grasp the full definition addiction until it was too late. You could tell by their behavior on stage where Scott would pretty much stay away from Robert. In the First shows that I went to in 93 early 94-96 he would be over by Robert doing vocals with him from the show's I saw an 99-2000 2008-2010 not once did he due back up with Robert he stayed away from him pretty much the whole time on stage. This album is beautiful absolutely great it's really does show what an amazing band Stone Temple Pilots is. Are one of the best all-time in my opinion definitely in the top four for me.... Fuck it the top 3.

I heard the album when it came out. First thought was "hey, it's pretty good". Somehow, at these actual moments, in this months, it´s the anniversary of my "Perdida" (Which means a lot, since my native languaje is spanish: "Pérdida es una palabra muy dura y significativa para mí"). I can't stop listening to this. Is so well crafted from beginning until the end. I feel a lot of comprension for those who experienced an important loss... I don´t remember any other album which I can play even 4 or 5 times at day and didn´t get tired of it. This album is great.

This is my Saturday morning, cleaning the apartment album. STP are my favorite band, and I love that they keep evolving. Jeff Gutt is awesome! Love that guy's voice. I also dig how Dean keeps progressing as a guitarist, and he is using this lifetime to the fullest degree musically.
Not sure why this amazing album has kinda gone under the radar. I can almost guarantee in a few years it will be reassessed as one of those long lost classics. Such a great record !

Wow. I did not expect to be so blown away by this singer. He sounds like Weiland, but also has his own identity. They found the perfect replacement, kind of like Foreigner's current singer. What a wonderful album! A precious job made by the whole band. Jeff is very talented and the songs sound deeply emotional and fresh at the same time. I mostly enjoy Fare thee well, Perdida and Miles Away. All pieces fit perfectly together (voice, lyrics and instruments). Hope they can return to Chile soon!

I lived the grunge era, mtv latin america used to play Stone temple pilots a lot, i never liked grunge or rock, but now i apreciate their music so much, their music is a constant source of good memories, and this album feels like a calmed return to the heart. A very mature STP here. An extremely inspired record which encloses a strong sense of unity among all songs. One of their bests. Long life to the Stone Temple Pilots! God bless!
Instrumentals as beautiful as always. Missing Scott tremendously, Jeff does his job well but Scott had a way of evoking emotion that always had the listener feeling it. As soon as I heard “years” lyrically and vocally it hit different, right away I wondered are they Roberts?! And in fact they are. Robert you always outdo yourself I’m hoping for a solo album with just your vocals. For me that song is the star of this album. Still hurts to listen w/out Scott but that one song is a gift.

I must admit, I got addicted to STP late in life (45 yrs old). Now that I have gone through the things he's been through, I can totally relate and sympathize with Scott. He left the world a broken man. As the band previously and aptly said, his gift was also his curse.
I'm gonna listen to STP albums for the rest of my adult life.

@Arsene Lupin III I have a feeling a lot of these songs were already musically written and possibly were supposed to be on Shangri-la when it was supposed to be a double album. I would have loved to see what Scott could have done with them especially if he didn’t go off and do Velvet Revolver. If only he could have stayed clean and healthy :(

Not heavy musically at all but heavy as hell in the lyrics. A true mix of nostalgia and melancholy. A real dig into the soul. As a rock fan I expected more punch in the electric guitars, but as a STP fan, I'm very pleased. Thanks for keep going STP.
STP purposely put this 'mellow' album out.most songs are about Scott and saying goodbye to him. Also the pain that Eric, Dean and Robert endure trying to help Scott. There was a deep bond among them. Scott continuously alienated him self after each relapse and rehab. I could see this happening by his behavior on stage at their concerts. I could see that Robert had some resentment towards Scott you really didn't grasp the full definition addiction until it was too late. You could tell by their behavior on stage where Scott would pretty much stay away from Robert. In the First shows that I went to in 93 early 94-96 he would be over by Robert doing vocals with him from the show's I saw an 99-2000 2008-2010 not once did he due back up with Robert he stayed away from him pretty much the whole time on stage. This album is beautiful absolutely great it's really does show what an amazing band Stone Temple Pilots is. Are one of the best all-time in my opinion definitely in the top four for me.... Fuck it the top 3.

I heard the album when it came out. First thought was "hey, it's pretty good". Somehow, at these actual moments, in this months, it´s the anniversary of my "Perdida" (Which means a lot, since my native languaje is spanish: "Pérdida es una palabra muy dura y significativa para mí"). I can't stop listening to this. Is so well crafted from beginning until the end. I feel a lot of comprension for those who experienced an important loss... I don´t remember any other album which I can play even 4 or 5 times at day and didn´t get tired of it. This album is great.

This is my Saturday morning, cleaning the apartment album. STP are my favorite band, and I love that they keep evolving. Jeff Gutt is awesome! Love that guy's voice. I also dig how Dean keeps progressing as a guitarist, and he is using this lifetime to the fullest degree musically.
Not sure why this amazing album has kinda gone under the radar. I can almost guarantee in a few years it will be reassessed as one of those long lost classics. Such a great record !
I'm pretty sure the melodies on this album have become a permanent part of my soul :)

Wow. I did not expect to be so blown away by this singer. He sounds like Weiland, but also has his own identity. They found the perfect replacement, kind of like Foreigner's current singer.

What a wonderful album! A precious job made by the whole band. Jeff is very talented and the songs sound deeply emotional and fresh at the same time. I mostly enjoy Fare thee well, Perdida and Miles Away. All pieces fit perfectly together (voice, lyrics and instruments). Hope they can return to Chile soon!

Instrumentals as beautiful as always. Missing Scott tremendously, Jeff does his job well but Scott had a way of evoking emotion that always had the listener feeling it. As soon as I heard “years” lyrically and vocally it hit different, right away I wondered are they Roberts?! And in fact they are. Robert you always outdo yourself I’m hoping for a solo album with just your vocals. For me that song is the star of this album. Still hurts to listen w/out Scott but that one song is a gift.
