The difference between the old SRT Cherokee and the new one is that the old one's start-up sounds like the typical hellcat engine unlike the new one.

I’m pretty sure most of the new vehicle sounds are the same but the volume of the start up is changed slightly

The reason why is because most or all of the cars with new sounds have the same or similar engines. If you didn’t notice, all the cars are Chryslers.

As an owner of the Jeep Cherokee, and Durango I can say they are new sounds and they are horrible in my opinion
Trex and Kwex do have different sounds, viper is the same sound
