Spectacular Guy! I am half way to finishing this. Now, if I can continue to follow your directions. Thanks for the professional video. Straight and to the point.
Thank you very much for putting all this together and for supplying the cut list and SketchUp plans. I am in the process of following your plans and was wondering if I lost a page as you had not, as far as I can see, provided details for the vertical spacing of the 2 spacing bars for the small drawers below the dust collection system on the left side of the cabinet. Any tips would be appreciated.
I was not a fan of the two hoses inside the cabinet so I asked my son to 3-D print a "T" pipe connection to which the 4” and 2” hoses could connect to. The bottom part of the "T" is the same length of the back wall and is form fitted into the back wall. A 2" hose connecter is attached on the outside of the back wall which means the entire 2" hose is outside the back of the cabinet. Doing so eliminated the requirement for the 2" hose inside the cabinet and this set-up works wonderfully. I can provide the 3-D printer pipe connection plans / specifications if anyone wishes. I also used the blue flexible "Dust-Rite" 4" hose which made dust collection hose installation much easier than using the hose in your video.
I know you mention it but the install of the power system needs to be considered before anyone gets too far down the build path. I had to take the walls apart after I had screwed them together in order to cut a hole in the left side panel for my power / switch box, to cut a notch in the centre vertical panel through which to route the power cord, and to cut a notch in the right side panel to route the power cord through. In your explanation, you sort of breeze over this issue.
I bet I have viewed your UA-cam Router Table Videos a dozen x 4 times to capture the wisdom of your work. As such, I noted that you had a pocket hole in your vertical panel about halfway up the board facing the front. I am hoping this was an error or I am really doing something wrong!
Thanks again and although it took you only 45 minutes to install the full extension door slides, it is taking me slightly longer!!!! 🙂
Great video Guy! I was wondering if you could tell me the height of the slide support and correspodning drawer slide just under the middle shelf (i.e., between the bottom drawer slide and the middle shelf). This doesn'r seem to be captured in the plans and I don't have sketch-up. Thanks.
I've been thinking about a router table build and I've been watching a lot of videos on them and I think this is the only one that makes no since to as to the way it's built. first you've lost 3/4's of your work space that this big hauking fence arm that i can't figure out way you would need that bar perpendicular to the fence and across the width of the table, and then your working across the depth of the table, not the width?. why make a table so big to only use about a foot of it. I would have thought that you'd want the router center of the table and work across the width. as well instead of all the waisted twisting and turning of the hose that your never going to have access to, and the ridges will collect dust instead of sending it out of the cabinet. why didn't you hard pipe it out of the box you don't need it to move or flex inside of the box? It look neat and cool but it seem like a lot of waisted floor space for its usefulness.
Not gonna lie I'm super jealous of that table. Amazing work
High high is the SS1 Filler strip on the left side? Also, what door hinge did you use with 1/2 inch door?
I finally received my incra 27" x 43" LS positioner super system! man oh' man am I loving it so far! Guy thank you so much for all your work into this build, I also want to thank you for putting up the plans! yesssss!!! I actually built one exactly like yours! well almost! This was the first time I have ever installed drawer glides, built drawers, or mounted door hinges.....which I'm still working on perfecting lol! all I have left to do is paint the drawer faces, and fix my door. Oh! installing the dust behind the 10" drawers was a challange, I cursed your name at least 3 times haha! but I was successful in the end!
Thank you Guy!
He Richard. Starting my own build. Just got my Incra table this week. What did you wind up using for the hinges on the door. Can't find any that require less that a 1/2" deep hole for the cup.
Firstly, thank you for taking time to put this together and publish it. I'm in the process of putting mine together. The cut list and videos are enormously helpful and much appreciated. On a related note, do you have recommendations for the model router you use in your table? Thanks in advance (I'm sure others will appreciate your thoughts.)
Guy? Guy? Are you there? Apparently Guy doesn't answer anyone's questions with regards to this build so I thought I might fend off those people who think he might answer their questions. He will not answer any questions . . . so save your time. FYI, this is an Incra Tools sponsored video.
Great video Guy. Question though, is there a reason that you ran the dust collection they way you did instead of just running out the back of the compartment where the Router/Cleansweep component is located? Seems like this would free up some space for those two bottom drawers to be full extension drawers. The Y would be on the outside of the cabinet in this case. Just wondering...
Thanks Gary. I didn't want the wye on the outside of the cabinet is all. There is a ton of storage, so losing a few extra inches of depth in the drawers on the bottom wasn't a big deal to me. It's very easy just to route the DC outside of the cabinet as you suggested if it works out better for you.
SS1 middle support, how high up?
Which hinges did you use for the door? Most are designed with a cup depth in the door of 1/2 inch, and that won't work for 1/2 inch ply door!
Seems I have run into the same question. Did you ever find a hinge that would work?
is the SketchUp file available? I am making one of your cabinets and would like the plans. thanks.
Love this pair of videos. Thank you for making the plans and cultists available. I’ve had the Incra table for about 3 years now and have been using it a lot. Have had this cabinet project on hold till now because I finally splurged to get a track saw. I feel confident that I can get all the plywood cut properly now.
Well !!! Very nice Video ... thanks !!!
would love to know the cost of that thing...
1500 not including the dust collection system, router motor, upgraded router plate, and of course all he built onto it.
I have tried to download your cabinet plans but it doesn't seem to download. Is there another way I can get these plans from you?
Guy Am building a cabinet like yours in Australia. But cannot buy the 4"and 2 1/2" flanges .Also the 2 X 2 1/2" hose ends. Could you tell me where I can buy these items in USA. Have got hoses and Y piece.Thanking you Bernie.
why is the positioner head so far from the bit? this length allows for flex. flex is bad.
What mitre gauge did you use in this video? I have the same mitre table configuration.
What hinges did you use for the door on the Incra router table cabinet build?
That is a sweet set up. I was thinking of different designs for my build. This video convinced me to just use your plans and order the incra frame. Unless it's a long lead time like their other stuff.
I bought a used old positioner yesterday. Needed a new fence for it. 3-5 week lead time!
How do you open the clean sweep to change the speed of the router since it drops down below the clean sweep. It looks as if you have a divider just below the clean sweep. Does that inhibit access to the router from below? Thanks.
Finished my build out over the weekend. See my completed project here: imgur.com/a/YsXPsdW Thanks Guy for the plans!
Very nice - love the drawer fronts and the raised panel door - looks like the whole front face of your router table cabinet is hard wood, if so, what species of wood? It looks like a piece of furniture - excellent work!
Great videos! I look forward to building this cabinet for my shop! Did you just cut angled grooves in a board for all the ring inserts?
I see all kinds of questions but no answers...guess we wasted our time asking!!!
Questions can be asked to the owner of the UA-cam channel linked to in the description.
Where did you get those sexy red handles. I like em.
I love this table set up
Where do you keep the template book and strips?
I'm a little jealous as well. Does it show?
Guy, Very educational video. Thanks. It motivated me to build the cabinet exactly as you laid it out. Okay, so I am really new at building cabinets and placing drawer fronts (like this cabinet is my first).
1. I am at the place where I am placing drawer slides. I cannot find the dimension for the height of the bottom of the spacer for the highest drawer on the left side (the one immediately beneath the door). Can you help, please. I don't want to go through a trial and error sequence as I am not sure how to determine this exact measurement.
2. Also, when placing the drawer fronts, does the bottom of the draw box align/ flush with the bottom of the drawer front?
I'm building the same but with out the two small drawers under the clean sweep. Question...what stops the door when you close it? There isn't anything opposite the hinges to stop it from going past flush!
You can glue a little stop to the plywood panel to the left of the door.
somebody has a sponsorship
It looks like you used a bushing to hold the router bits. What's the source for them?
Check out Rockler. They have bit holders that can accept either 1/2" or 1/4".
Links to PDF and .skp not working.
The links have been corrected. Give them another try.
Would love to know the dimensions of the table......
Did you read the description? There is a PDF of the plans with full dimensions and a 3D Sketchup model.
I';ve since found the dimensions but thanks. I intend to make my own build making a hybrid table......using the bench dog cast iron then adding an extension table and using the Precision Plate v 2.0 that would enable my extension table to use the LS positioner AND also the Wonderfence. The best of both worlds......
Thank you for creating this great video. Can you please provide a complete list of all the Incra products that you used for this set up?
Thanks
Mark
