Thank you for this information. This is INVALUABLE! However, I have a question: If you're experiencing these precursor symptoms and even a mild heart attack symptom that "resolves." How will we be assessed properly in Emerg? If you go to Emergency explaining this (and a woman better not venture saying anxiety even if they have all the other symptoms) BUT not having the actual heart attack symptom at the time, just those precursers and you may not even have those at the time of going to Emerg. How do you get the staff to take you seriously and also if they do, say an EKG ~ isn't there a possibility that it shows no heart attack changes. And they then may not do an X-Ray or blood work for troponins. Will troponins even show up with precursor symptoms? So then will we even be taken seriously or treated? Or go to the cath lab to check for blockages or SCAD? In Ontario, Canada I'm concerned that they will not test and even if they do it won't show at this early detection and then they'll just turn us away.

You are right there has to be a degree of suspicion by the provider to take these symptoms into account.. Things that an individual can do and should do are 1)Monitor Your Symptoms: Pay attention to any unusual symptoms you may be experiencing, especially those mentioned above. 2)Check Your Vital Signs: Regularly monitor your blood pressure, pulse rate, and heart rate. Any significant changes should be reported to your healthcare provider. 3)Seek Medical Advice: If you experience any concerning symptoms or if you have risk factors for heart disease, don't hesitate to seek medical advice. Your doctor can help determine if further testing or evaluation is needed. 4)Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: Eating a balanced diet, getting regular exercise, managing stress, avoiding smoking, and limiting alcohol intake can all help reduce your risk of heart disease and improve your overall health. Know the Warning Signs: Educate yourself about the warning signs of a heart attack so that you can act quickly if you experience them.Troponins typically are elevated after the onset of a heart attack.Like stated in point four PREVENTION is key to your heart health.A cath is not done in terms of a work up of precursor symptoms. Two tests to consider are the following: 1)A stress test can be a useful diagnostic tool in assessing cardiovascular health and identifying potential risk factors for a heart attack. However, its utility in detecting precursor symptoms of a heart attack weeks before the event may be limited, as the test primarily evaluates how your heart responds to physical stress and may not necessarily detect subtle signs of an impending heart attack.2)A coronary calcium score, measured through a coronary calcium scan or coronary artery calcium (CAC) scoring, is another diagnostic tool used to assess the risk of coronary artery disease (CAD), which can lead to a heart attack. This test measures the amount of calcium in the walls of the coronary arteries, which can indicate the presence of atherosclerosis, or plaque buildup.A calcium score can be helpful in predicting the likelihood of future cardiovascular events, including heart attacks. However, it is not typically used as a tool to detect precursor symptoms. Instead, it is more commonly used as part of a comprehensive risk assessment for individuals who may be at risk for CAD, especially those with multiple risk factors but without overt symptoms.
