If anyone deserves to have their visage on the side of a mountain, it's the session guys and gals who created the most wonderful sounds and musical tapestries that remain timeless.
My dad talked about growing up with his first cousin, Grady Martin, and how they’d get together on a Saturday night near Anes Station with Grady’s mother on the piano with a few missing ivories, Grady playing the fiddle and his brother on guitar with his sister clogging. While it would be years before I was born, I can envision it in my mind. Rest In Peace Mr. Martin.
I couldn't name even one of them at the time, but they provided the soundtrack for my life. Glad to see them get their recognition. I watched a Carol Kaye documentary, talking about the Wrecking Crew. At the end they went into a studio for some shots and memories. The security guard called upstairs, they didn't let her in.
My Mom ,sister & Aunts had the golden opportunity back in Oct 1963. It was Jerry Kennedy , Bobby Moore, Buddy Hartman, Jerry Reed & Ray Stevens … I just got the master back that I had transferred to a wave file and the outtakes are so incredible.. Louie was in the booth as a director… Can you recollect his last name? 4 girls from Canada..Recording with great guys that created so much great music… Thank for posting Alberta Dave🇨🇦😊
I was president of Bob Moore and Grady Martin's fan club until Grady passed away. We shut the fan club down after Grady died. We had over 7000 members worldwide. It was one of my best accomplishments of my lifetime. Bob and Kittra and I still communicate with each other. They are very good friends. Thanks to Bob and Kittra I was able to meet many, many people of fame and many people behind the scenes that should have been famous. It was a good run......Tommy Lovelace
Some things never change. Nothing against these guys. They are world-class musicians who were making hay while the sun was shining and doing what they could to make a living. I'm just saying that, with each bit of homogenization applied, a little bit of artistry is lost. Stick to your road team in the studio, if they're capable. If they're not, then find pickers who are. Nashville's full of them. Let's hear what it's going to sound like at the venue on the record. It sucks now, and it sucked then, too.
That's sounds about right. Taking nothing away from these extraordinary musicians, according to the old system, the labels controlled the process, time was money, and the ones that could work fast, were the ones that cut all the records. The artists seemed to be an afterthought. Fascinating to hear the stories from these old pros. though.
Back when Nashville was full of Patriots, great players and REAL country music ......God bless you guys.
What the fuck is wrong with you? Patriots ??? what the hell? You’re politicizing music?
"Patriots" Jeez.... idiot.
These gentlemen were my heroes! And some were good friends! Thank you!
I' ve noticed over the years that really truly talented people are so humble and these guys are it
The largest amounts of respect to these musicians Thank You...
R.I.P. To All !! Your Legacy of Talent and Music Will Live On FOREVER !! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Those musicians were amazing. They were the best. Nobody will ever do what they did, ever again.
Excellent post. That's history right there.
This is great! We need more stories and insight from these guys before any more A-Team members are gone!
God bless these hit makers....last of their kind

Wow , I grew up listening to all these guys and even here in the UK we got many of the record releases. What a shame the whole team are not around .

Fantastic video, in a humble sort of way.
I couldn't name even one of them at the time, but they provided the soundtrack for my life.

Big thanks. I'm Bob's son. Is there additional footage? Big love.
Hi Stevie...how have you been. I'm back in country now after 9 years in the Middle East. I'm suffering culture shock big time!
Much love to your dad..a true American Treasure..
We might not have grown-up without em...
Wow!! Legends is right. And I can hear Lily talking and laughing in the background.
Most of these great guys played with my idol Chet Atkins I sure wish they had spoke about him after all he created the Nashville Sound
Not only did they not mention Chet Atkins they also left out Floyd Cramer the greatest pianist.
Man! These were the guys on Blonde on Blonde
Always wondered who played on Dylan’s blonde on blonde
I wonder why they didn’t include Lloyd Green in this? He’s one of the few remaining members of the earlier A team.
good stuff
What about Henry Strzelecki? Hey was a session cat, great bass player. RIP
did he write long tall texan?
BELLO!
You should have named all these gentlemen
No mention of Velma Smith or Chet Atkins?
@5:40 Chet was mentioned.
Or Hank Garland
I thought that I had heard somewhere that Floyd Cramer had played piano on a lot of other peoples recordings before he started recording is own music
Also Billy Grammer?
