- At 540 lbs, Ken's life was constant pain and severe depression - his self image was "human garbage" and thought of himself as a "monster".
One day when his boxer Lucky woke him up to go outside, he realized just how difficult it was to just move across the room and made plans to end his own life... but only moments after he had planned this something inspired him to change his life. Watch his incredible journey to reclaim his life and be inspired that anyone can change no matter how bad off they are, and that anything is possible!
Special thanks to Nuvia Dental Implants, who have a shared mission with DDPY, to improve the quality of others' lives and heard about Ken's journey. Their generous donation to Ken's life, giving him a brand new smile (he had fallen and knocked his teeth out years earlier), made his full transformation even more unbelievable.
Ken is proof that anything is possible and it's never too late to turn your life around completely.

Ken, you are an incredibly strong person, I hope you recognize that. I’m so sorry for your loss, there’s no heartbreak more painfully than saying goodbye to a loyal and loving dog. Please keep posting updates, because you are inspiring many, many people!
This one hit home. My dog saved me. I’ve failed her. She deserves the best
Lucky would be so proud of you! We all are so proud of you. Well done! Thanks so much for sharing your story of perseverance. You are a true inspiration.
This gives me hope.
I'm 480 pounds, suffer from depression and am disabled. My motivation is my 4 year old daughter and it's so hard to not be able to play with her like I want to. I live in Georgia and have driven past DDP Yoga countless times but know I don't have the money to start the program. My family tells me to "get on disability" but I don't want that... I want to fix myself, not slap a bandaid on a gaping wound.
Stop by our office next time you pass by.
hang in there buddy
Get into DDPy’s office. You might need help for awhile (maybe even the disability), but that doesn’t mean you can’t fix yourself. You can do it.

I totally agree with you. Everything that is used to meet the end goal is a tool to empowerment, even if just a temporary measure.
You can do it, it's going to be hard, but your 4 yr old daughter is WORTH it! Much success to you!!!!!!
The loss of one’s best friend, who literally is with you and loves you and supports you, 24/7 is so hard. I’m so glad Ken hung in. I hope he gets/got a new best friend.
Ken you did wonderfully. And thought Lucky has passed on, shes always with you. And she is very proud of you.
Thanks to DDP for all he does to help others. I hope Ken has a wonderful and loving life. You do you brother!
What a wonderful, hopeful story, Ken. I cried so hard, also because I know what it is like to be curled up on the floor not wanting to live after losing my darling pet. One day at a time it gets better. And, whenever you are ready, there is a loving, mistreated doggo in a pound somewhere that needs to be saved from the needle by a man with a big heart.
Just an amazing story, Ken! Look how far you have come. My prayers on the loss of Lucky.
You were blessed to have her and she was your inspiration and now your angel….Cherish those memories…..You look fantastic….Keep it going you deserve it….
Its crazy this came in the feed i been subbed to you for awhile now. I was 415 lbs at my peak, I lost 200 in a year doing small steps and moving forward. I had a neighbor that is overweight that complimented me on my success 10 mins before I got home and am typing this . I gave them the advice and things I did. Stopping drinking soda doing things started eating chicken and salads and curling a dumbbell while I sat and watched TV. DDP I grew up watching you as a kid I am 47 now, This is righteousness at its purest form. We need to help one another teach people you can do this starting from the smallest action to slowly doing more. This journey is a marathon you have to pace yourself commit and you will succeed. Thank you for listening
You are an inspiration bro 👍💪 Congratulations on a fantastic achievement ❤
That man is naked where is his
Not just a weight loss story, but a story of loving companionship, hope, loss, determination, recovery and inspiration. Congratulations. You have gone from the depths of despair to becoming a handsome, forward facing man with a future who will never look back yet not forget the past - and especially the faithful friendship of Lucky.
Who knew what a nice looking man was under all that? He truly is an inspiration. So glad he also got his smile back, he looks so healthy , just wonderful to see.
I feel for you, Kenny.
I lost my 🐈 of 19 years, it was exactly one year ago this past Monday.
They are the only life form that emits true unconditional love.
Keep that love with you
What an inspiration… Lucky was your guardian angel… you are awesome… how great that by doing the work you are blessed with a beautiful new smile!
Ken, you are amazing!
Can’t stop crying, our fur babies can get us through so much 😢
Thank you so much for this. I survived stage four cancer. I was given 3-6 months to live 3 years ago. I am currently cancer free and now on a weight loss journey which has plateaued. Your phrase really hit me. “I got a second chance of life, now what am I going to do with it?” Thank you.
This is magic. Real world magic.
This is by the grace of God !
This is one of the most well done stories of inspiration and hope that I have ever watched! Good job Ken and DDPY.
Congratulations on your transformation.
Please accept my condolences for the loss of your pet. Hugs

Words can not express Ken how proud I am of you! You deserve a fabulous life. I’ve lost a dog I adored and I’ve kept off 80 pounds. So, I’ve walked in your shoes my friend. Keep loving yourself and remember there are so many dogs that need adopting. Love from Southern California❤️🐾❤️🐾

Good for you, Ken! Keep it up!! ❤️
Be glad you had Lucky 🍀 to motivate you, as you get older.
Your body begins having these same aches without the weight.
It’s terrible 😞 I have to commend you for taking these steps to wellness.

This is an amazing story. God bless you Ken.
You are a LUCKY guy. Glad you didnt give up n may your friend rest in peace.
Inspiring! Well done!
My two dogs died this year, both 15, 1/11/23 & 8/5/23. I’m shattered. Life is so empty and quiet without them. They spent every day and holiday with me, loved me more than my grown children who never keep in touch, loved me better than any human ever has, shared the best & worst days, helped me through all of it including 2&1/2 years of homelessness. I know your pain and heartache 💔I’m so sorry for your loss. I want a new smile too. Yours is beautiful. Keep smiling handsome. It looks good on you. God bless you. 🙏 Dog bless you 🐕🦺
❤😢
Ken! You are amazing. I am so motivated man I can’t tell you how proud you should be of yourself!!
Definitely my favourite video so far. I do think Ken has such a big heart that he needs to allow another four legged friend into his life. Imagine all the walks they can enjoy together.
I’m so proud of you for not giving up! I completely understand
what you were going through with Lucky, who was always there
for you. When my Son died, my dog, Gracie was my only inspiration
as well, and then she also went to heaven. I didn’t want to go on
without my two favorite “people”. But, somehow with every ounce
of anything I had left, I said, “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger.”
That was ten yrs ago! God bless you, and watch over you, always!
You Look Great!
Rest in peace Lucky. You had an amazing dad.
That beautiful animal loved you heaps more than she loved her self and the greatest honour you can give your lovely dog is to love care and respect the one thing she adored for her when she is unable ❤
This is such a heartwarming, tear-jerking story! You’re courageous and dedicated to creating your best life. Lucky inspired and loved you as you loved him. He’s proud of you in his eternal home. You are very inspiring to me. I don’t have a weight problem but I have other severe health issues, some of which can be improved upon, I think. I don’t want to need a cane anymore! Thanks for telling your story!❤
Lucky is up there and proud of you! Sometimes your dog friends will be with you to a certain point and leave when they know you can continue on. And here you are killing it! 👏👏👏
Wow! What a HUGE transformation. Thank you for being so inspirational, for loving a loyal dog, for being so brave.
❤well done you are much stronger than you thought, my sister told me when I lost my pet. She has now left a space for another dear pet that needs a home. You have a heart big enough to love another that desperately needs a home . God bless you sweetheart xxxxxx
This video needs to be shown everywhere. This is a amazing I was in tears the entire time.
There are just simply no words…only tears for the inspiration you have given me. And the love you had and shared with your furbaby is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
What an inspiration! You're incredible!
I'm so sorry for the loss of your precious Lucky 😢
Rest in peace beautiful pup 🐶
Ken, I hope you see this. I saw your video on a day when I was just a few moments from giving up. So, you saved my life and kept me of a cliffs edge.
I'm physically broken , 60, post Gullain Barre , exhausted. Despairing. Alone in a huge city.
But I watched your courage and i think you are so beautiful. I got back up the next day when I really didn't care or want to.
You rose with courage and grace.
May you be Blessed always .
Ohh, I’m so happy for you Ken! This is such a beautiful story! I lost my girl in March of 22, and I think of her every day! I haven’t been able to rescue another love to help fill that void, and it’s been tough at times. I’m so happy that you were able to work through your grief to better yourself! Have the best life! 🎉😊
You are truly an inspiration to many and you keep doing you. Im sorry about Lucky, she truly got you through alot. Keep us posted on your journey.
I cried watching your story, YOU are truly incredible! Despite your pain in your body, in your heart, in your mind and in your soul … you continued and you fought for your life! Thank you for sharing your story! You are now a part of my own journey because you’ve inspired me! You gave me hope! Thank you! Bless you! I wish you love and good friends in your life. R. I. P Lucky!❤
So proud of you! There's always another pet that needs us and we need them.
The most beautiful life changing I ever saw.
Your life changing and your story will give hope, for the ones who need strength to change their lives.
Hi Ken, from a 53 year old Australian woman, YOU ARE STRONG, INCREDIBLE AND GORGEOUS!
Ken you’re a true legend and I’m sure you can help many other people in the situation you were in. I don’t know you managed not to sink into depression after losing Lucky - I’m still grieving the loss of my malamute five years after losing him so I know how much that hurts. To see you walking now and looking so healthy - well I have no words but you are an incredible human being that’s for sure. ❤
I thank you for your strength and not to give up. You give people hope and hey, you're not a monster, you're a hero
Ken - "Right On" to your weight lost journey. Keep moving forward and only look back when you need to. God Bless👍👍
You’re an inspiration and a hero. You loved your dog and gave him the greatest love. He. Was so lucky to have you.

You are such a strong man and an inspiration to so many. You make the world better place.
I first saw this video a few years ago and now it popped up again. Ken you are amazing! I hope you are continuing to thrive. Lucky must be so proud of you! Seeing you laughing at the end with your amazing smile made me cry with joy for you! Everybody deserves a second chance. God bless you ❤
Oh my goodness, what an incredible story. I literally cried watching this. You are an inspiration to so many. Keep up the great work. Have you ever thought about getting another dog? You have so much love to give.❤️

This is the most wonderfully heartwarming story, and this mam deserves all the good that comes his way. You are an inspiration. I am so sorry you lost your Dear Friend/Family Lucky. He would be so proud of YOU. ❤
What a fabulous transformation Ken. You are amazing. Be so proud of yourself. Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧
This video was exactly what I needed today. Thank you.
It takes an absolute awakening for all of us. Not just a simple awakening… But an awakening that permeates some energy and a STORY that targets one of us..
I am “one of us“.
You don’t need to care about what other people think. What you have to care about, is how you feel at the end of the day - for yourself.
Damn... this is an absolutely inspirational and beautiful upload.
This is helping me… I hope your message resonates to a lot of people ❤️
You honored your relationship with your pup by continuing your journey! Fantastic!
Wow! What a transformation and the effort! Congrats Ken. You are a remarkable human being. So sorry about your four legged friend - he loved you to bits and that is all that matters. I absolutely love your new smile👌
Awesome story! I'm delighted that Ken got a second shot at life due to DDPY and incredible inner strength. He always had that power in him; but it always takes some catalyst to make a person finally ready to exercise that power.
Awesome!
Congrats my brother.
RIP to Lucky 😭
You are a miracle! Praying your continued success. Your positive attitude and beautiful smile is a tribute to all your hard work. Stay happy.
You are a perfect example of courage, discipline and determination. Congratulations !!!! And with a very big smile😊😊😊😊 God Bless you🙏🙏🙏
What an incredible guy. Lucky, his beloved dog would want him to live his best life...as he watches from above.
God bless you my Brother. Watching from Canada and your video brought me to tears. May the rest of your life be filled with happiness and health. Amen. Lucky is watching from the other side of the Bridge.
