- In this video I try my best to clean up an old c. 1920 - 40 Case Tested XX stockman pocket knife with slick black handles. I bought this at an antique store in northern Michigan for $30. The blades were quite rusty and did not have any snap. I used some simple steps and materials to clean this knife. I hope you enjoy!

Those old knives with worn blades are great to reprophile for whittling knives. Thanks for video
I would like to learn how to re-profile the blades. I would be open to suggestions for equipment that could be used.
@@oldpocketknives168 I use a cheap harbor freight 1x30 in belt sander and files and sharpen by laying the edge flat then put about a 10 to 15 degree edge on . Makes a nice whittling knife. I like the old carbon steel . It's kinda a fun little hobby. Doesn't have to be perfect and turns those old worn out pocket knives into useful tools again lol. Have a good day
Finally someone that knows how to clean on old knife.too many would have torn completely apart and chrome polished it.
LOL, thanks! I like to have them show their age. Also I don't have the machinery to polish them up anyway. Thanks for watching!
That is a sweet little piece buddy!! I love the classic Case oval shield so much!! Thanks for sharing!
Agreed, most recognizable emblem in the knife world. Thanks for watching!
Nice job.
Thanks for watching!
Nice, thanks for sharing that one. What is the handle material? I have a different pattern knife that age and it doesnt seem like celuloid. Thanks again brother!
Case used a black synthetic that collectors call "slick black" handles. They were pretty popular from 1920 into the 1960s. Thanks for watching!
cool
thanks
I think that it’s a very good old knife. In my opinion the blades may not be that worn . The ‘pen’ blade may be a punch -drill because I have very old Christmas Tree Ka-Bar stockman with a clip , Spey and punch blade sans the usual sheepfoot .
Thank you! Sounds like a nice KA-BAR!
