Airfix 1/24 De Havilland Mosquito - Part 6 Engine Paint
Вставка

- In part 6 we finally get around to painting the engine detail and using some different techniques to representing the copper pipework attached to the engine.
This however is not the final part to the engine, which will be when most of the paintwork is complete and I can attach all the wires and cables.

Fabulous build. Should be placed in a show. The humour and your use of the words "F-Cough" is hilarious...
Its taking me forever to watch this build series because I keep pausing and zooming in for a closer look at some of the amazing details done to this model.
Amazing work. I can't really say much more than that, the work speaks for itself.
Im seriously enjoying this build, top work, incredible craftsmanship.
I am really blown away by your very kind comments, thank you so much👍👍👍
When Building the 1/32 Tamiya Mossie, one of the upgrades was the Brassin resin engine kits. I made it a stand alone model using the Tamiya landing gear, prop and nose cone. It served in showing how to add the missing plumbing, wire and component detail to the Tamiya kit. The airplane is displayed in flight on a custom, multi position metal stand so the removable cowlings are installed most of the time and do not have to come off with the Brassin model engine to look at instead. I have upscaled to more 1/24 scale aircraft kits that require extra effort to improve them. All have motorized propellers and posed in flight. Some of them are posted on my channel. If Airfix puts the Mosquito into production again I will more than likely get one mostly because of your excellent build series Rob. The Brassin engine will again be a big help.
Wow that's it wow !!!!! 🙏🍺💪💞👍
that xtra detail looks great
Thank you so much Rob, really appreciate the very kind comment👍👍👍
Whether it's right or wrong, all that extra pipework looks incredible.👍
Thank you so much sir👍👍👍 You are on our wavelength of thinking, does not matter on accuracy, but making an area look interesting.
@@frontlinemodelhobbies653 looking forward to the next vid👍
Bloody impressive Rob
Thank you really so much👍👍👍
Your a braver man than me mate...that was an absolute pig to get in there...credit to you tho...another superb lesson in the madness that afflicts us modellers lol
Noooo, you’re more than capable, if I can do it, anyone can and I do mean that.
It was a bit tricky to get it in, Ohhh Errr, but the engine did fit eventually.
But most importantly your comments have inspired onwards, so thank you so much👍👍👍
Dear Rob, What a totally inspirational tutorial! Amazing workmanship as always! I am waiting with baited breath for the next instalment. Sincere Best Wishes Johnny
Thank you so much Johnny, you’re very kind sir. The next one will be on Wednesday next week👍👍👍
I didn't realise there was SO much detail missing.I'm glad I'm doing mine closed up.
Yeah, there is a huge amount missing. Engines and machine guns in nose wrong size and position for guns (too high). Landing in wrong position and the worst I have ever worked with (strengthening required).
Don’t get me wrong if you want a 1/24 mossie then this is the only one. But if you need another then do not buy any more than £150, not worth it. In hindsight, I should have bought and done the Tamiya 1/32 one.
Awesome detail work Rob. Very inspirational.
Thank you so much👍👍👍
Fantastic model recognising the aircraft of Charles Pickard and Alan Broadley. Alan was my wife's Uncle.
Oh my god, WOW. That is awesome, that has inspired me to get this build done and not only that to keep it in the highest quality I can to the end.
TBH that is mine and Lenny’s mission from @RTBModels to bring these amazing Heroes to light and, not just Charles or Alan, but the rest of the Mossie air crew. 👍👍👍
That is 'kin jaw dropping! How you didn't go boss-eyed doing all that, or snapping stuff off while doing the final fit....blimey
Thank you so so much for the kind comments👍👍👍
I kinda did, but more my fault, as I had to paint strip the engine but other than that it went together quite well, not to mention my mess of wiring that I did.
decided to get mine from storage and start it great vid rob
Ahhhh nice one Rob, be nice see you’re work in progress, just email frontlinemodelhobbies@gmail.com and if you need any help with photos, diagrams or anything I have in my books I am here to help, do not hesitate in asking👍👍👍
thanks for that@@frontlinemodelhobbies653
Top top work Rob
Thank you nige, your very kind my friend👍👍👍
Fantastic 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much👍👍👍
Absolutely wow incredible detail and work 👏
You have an incredibly steady hand! I bet you're good at darts....If I tried to paint those pipes I'd have a right mess on my hands!!
I do have my moments, have right tremors sometimes and cannot paint for toffee🤣
Speaking of darts, I used to be, but not anymore lol.
You are more than able to do anything, there is no competition with anyone else just yourself. Practice and enjoyment is all that is required. Happy modelling and thank you for the very kind comments👍👍👍
Should have been a surgeon with hands like those !
Im not sure on that, I know I need a new set of eyes though, but thank you really very kind👍👍👍
After 12 hours mingling, he at last got the bugter in😅
Stunning, but mine will stay at the back of the the stash until I learn patience!
I can tell you that my kit has nearly gone straight out the window, so I am right behind you on that one.
But thank you for the very kind comments and if you do start it, have a small Tamiya kit on standby to chill out on👍👍👍
My head hurts!!!!!
I am sure it doesn’t hurt that much👍😁
Are you going to do any of the missing rivet detail. Also the reinforcing planks on the wings are they on all versions or only on late. The book I have isn't much help.
Yeah I have done the strengthening plates on the top of the wing and that will be in the next vid. The rivets, I have not touched them, there is a reason for this, I had only limited time to get this build done for Telford 2023, but didn’t end up going there.
I also show the book I use for the plates in the next vid, hope that helps👍👍👍
