I bought a 1996 new in 96. Full Muzzy exhaust.......they may be heavier than the CBR900RR but man, the ZX9R is one mean machine :) Thank for the nostalgia!
I have a 2001 ZX-9R E-1 with 112,000 mi. on it. It has given me absolutely no issues and I love the bike! Did a major on the engine with 99,300mi. because the cam chain was getting a bit noisy. Engine looked like new, you could see the hone marks in the cylinders yet! Cleaned up valves, seats, new cam chain head gasket, runs like new!! I'll keep it forever! 😊
I bought one exactly like that in 1995 and owned it for 12 years. I regret selling it now. That bike took me everywhere as was rock solid. I now have two E2 bikes. Keep the good times rolling !

Had exactly the same 94 B1 bike myself in the burgundy/grey. Terrific machine in a straightline with an addictive induction roar and very comfortable I found, even though I am tall. Quite poor handling even on new tyres..... and then I read Performance Bike magazines technical assesment and they apparently found a flaw in the shock linkage design which didnt allow the shock/swingarm to operate in the full range I seem to recall... and even Kawasaki apparently did not realise and had let it through into production !! Fixed on the B2 bikes though !! Still, I havefond memories. My first serious performance machine, leading to a Zx12 which was bananas at the time 😃!!!!
They corrected that linkage issue in the B3 (outside of the US) but not until the final B4 (1997) in the US. Easily identifiable by the passenger grab-handles.
That bike was an absolute beast, and that 1994 color scheme looked amazing. This was my first Kawasaki and I never went anywhere else, nothing but Kawasaki for me since then. That being said, the Suzuki RF 900 was an awesome bike as well, especially with that bulletproof motor and a lower sales price.
A good friend of mine had a blue 1999 ZX9-R back in 2003 and he said it was one of the best bikes he had. He sold it because he knew the performance was going to get him in trouble. I would consider one.
Kawasaki sold a ton of these the first few years. When I rebuilt my 1997 back in 2012, ebay had pages and pages of good, quality parts for decent prices. Now it's almost nothing. Kawi has discontinued many parts as well, obviously being that they're 30 years old now.
Aesthetically speaking I think thats about the best looking Ninja to ever come out, the only downside I can see at a glance is, it doesn't look like you can just reach in and change the headlight bulbs without removing stuff, which was the way my 2005 ZX10R was
Nice video bud, even these models look great still, love my E1 though. Only issue is some parts are actually impossible to get now, especially if you want OEM, or just original colour new or even second hand body panels, and tank, that I need due to being clumsy and ruining my tank.
@@andybussa1323I can buy one in same milage for 1500 euro it was my one month salary and the bike look fine for this year.. perfect toy for shitty money😅
Great video and objective, Great and very powerful bike , for me cbr900 cant touch it, I dont know who claims that honda was greatest, maybe because she was the first of that kind, maybe honda pays jurnalists, who knows... She was durable but very slow when comparing to Kawa... Zx9r b model easy for maintaining, like you mentioned in the video, i am now finishing asembling of 1994 model...she is havier than she should be but when you know to ride its not a big deal.... Cheers
@Adikxx he says one needs a valve adjustment (comes with gaskets and such) and the other needs clutch, throttle and a battery. I'm looking to upgrade from a 98 gsxr750 because I'm 6'6" and need a bigger framed bike for hopefully more comfort.
Rf900 1994, 135 hp;) 100.2 nm. Zx-9r 1994 139 hp, 94 nm. Rf900 with a 38 ccm advantage. Zx-9r with a ram air advantage. Rf900 + 6-8 hp with a open exhaust and a little larger carb jet. Measurement on same dyno, 114 vs 121.x rear hp. Hp loss cause to transmission and chain aprox 18%. Not a "optimistic" stand. A rider came with a 132 hp rear power rf900 measured on other stand. He was reduced to 116 hp😁 Zx-9r.. great sport bike. Rf 900, great sport tourer at higher pace. Top speed on a 99 busa clock 285. And then he pulled away.
Had no bike, Kawasaki for 27 years, March 19 chance to get a bike,, no Kawasaki shops anymore, turned down a 07 CBR 600RR, sight unseen, saw it, wanted it, Just sold, Bummer. Dancer I had opted for a fuel inj.650 Bandit, SHEET, Superb, 58, 59 times more biking joy than in 84, my nearly new GPZ 750 turbo, heard first production bike any size, to do the standing quarter mile in 10 seconds, mine did a Planted sure 161mph. Nearly new GT750, fav. Kawasaki, sit at 140 all day long, again planted sure. So over top end speeds, all about the acceleration, sadly now a semi retired Banditateer fekkin Banditaholic, ruined for any other bike, apart from maybe a 1400 shaft drive, or a ZX10, I'd have a 900 Ninja though, NICE. Scott Loch,na Professor Bandit fuel inj.650 B.T.E., GOT a PhD Masters in Bandit Torque Enjoyment only, nothing technical. 900 Ninja, might cure my Banditaholicism. Probably have to be some sort of Bandit, Perfect Storms, Engine WIZARDRY. All the best. Ninja, LOVELY.
@@Adikxx Yes thanks. Your video on the alternator chain was very good. It made me tighten mine. I've uploaded another video. GSXR 1100 wp 1994 its very original. Check it out perhaps? Take care.
Hello Adikxx83 I hope you still read comments on Videos even they are one year old :) In Minute 08:44 you mentioned "To sum up. If you see a good one nearby give it a shot..." This is what I will do because I found one in very bad shape and this bike will be restored in a documented video in my "Phonixfeuer"-Channel here at UA-cam. Since I am working with OBS and green screen I would be honord to mention and add your awesome video with credits to my since this is the source of this Project. Always ride safely

It had a freeflow crank so it had a genuine super bike engine...
A ZZ-R in a sport package...
I owned one more than 20'years ago. Looking for one again. I remembered was super heavy but it is worth and the color are truly unique

B1 is the best looking 9R imo.. I’d prefer one over my ‘99 Blade.
It sits between a couple of other bikes I have.. 1990 ZXR750 H2 & 2001 ZX12R
Agreed !

Would it be worth it for 2 of these for 1k US dollars? Seller stated both need minimal work to be road ready. But I'd have to take his word for it.
For a thousand bucks 2 bikes? Bargain

The retro theme in this video is incredible. Pick a soundtrack from the era next time ;)
Wish I still had mine.. if anyone is interested in buying a rear seat cowel , i have one in purple.
Why does my 2002 not have the upside down front forks?
Kawasaki probably wanted to save money
Lighter and cheaper.
