About this week's episode:
Creating custom shapes in photoshop shouldn't be too complicated! So in this week's episode, we will do exactly that! We will start out with finding a reference image online and replicate it with the pen tool. After that, we will continue creating a path and transform it into a custom shape!

You can save a lot of time with the pen tool stage at the end of the fourth minute by using the magic wand, right clicking the selection, converting to work paths, and setting the tolerance to 1 pixel.
Thanks that help me
You been doing a great job keep up the great work god bless.
+ximmgfx Thanks :)

+Jamal Maazi Thanks for watching :)
I LOVE YOU
Hi dude, looking at it there was a much easier way to do that in making the shape you want a selection, then using selection to path, and then path to define shape. Just a thought! Great video though!
nice tutorial :)

Nice tutorial! I created my own shape but where do I find the file path (.csh) for my custom shape?
+EliteStar91 Great! This should be in your photoshop shape library in the back end, but you can also use the settings wheel via the photoshop shapes drop down menu!
great tutorial, just a little question, I see you have quite a shape library, is there any way to get a library like that to download?
Yes, all available in the tronix design media package!
excellent tutorial! really helping a graphic design student with his stuff considering he isn't that good at this :p quick question though. how do you create a path on parts of an image that would overlap each other like the middle of a bow tie for example. Kinda where the sides of the tie connect with the middle piece holding them together.
+MidnightMuzic Hey Good question, either create more paths and new shapes on different / individual layers. Or just continue the with the a new path! Once you have completed the one shape just finish up on the last anchor box and start a new path right next to it!
I have a problem, i got the outline of the object right. When I go to "view>clear guides" im not able to select clear guides, and when I right click and select define custom shape, nothing happens( guessing that problem is related to the clear guides)
redbarron0wns Hi, you do not need to clear the guides first. Keep them! Once you are done with the outlines head right away to the right click and select the custom shape option. After you saved the shape you can remove the guiles again,.... I also think your first mistake was during removing the guides process - you're tool swopped over to the move tool and that's why the custom shape option was not available!
TRONIX - Photoshop Design Tutorials you got that right! Thats the mistake i made, Thanks a lot! :) Definitely the best photoshop tutor i've come across
redbarron0wns Wow, thanks for the words & feedback :)
I have a question. Can you tell me how I can add a picture into my
Photoshop shape libary in Photoshop? How can you tranform an picture or
an own made drawing into a shape??
You should check out my 101 photoshop beginner playlist on the channel - I've got a tutorial just in that topic :) - how to create custom shapes.
oke, thanks!!!
How do I get a shape library like that?
+Emily Elmer You'll have to start creating your own little shapes and build up ;)
Podrías subir de nuevo el link, ya que no esta disponible, gracias
we have updated the links. Please find the link in the description - it is a link to dropbox
Is it considered "stealing" if you vector a shutterstock, vectorstock, etc. image?
+darktakua Yes, Correspond with the artist and see if you can feature him or her....or work out another deal :) Like me featuring them in youtube!
What is your photoshop modle is it cs6
+Mohd Khairudeen It's CS6 :)
HI! Actually I selected a shape by using pen tool...... while i right clicked the mouse define custom shape is hidden....... what i have to get my shape....
You first need to set a path together or try to create a path so that you can create a shape out of it!
are you from South Africa ?
nin3 _ I thought the same by the accent :)
thanks so much. Great tutorial, very helpful :)
when i am draging and bringing the png image i am not able to view it on my working layer, and also tell that whether we are able to unlock the lock png image ? please help.
also not able to define the custom shape, error comment is "could not complete your request because the current path is empty". Please help
+Abhinav Demta you will have to close the path first. This way you should be able to create s customs shape.
thank you
Very nice tutorial , however , why dont you use illustrator for design ?
+Alex Plom Good question! Many people asked me how to get a logo quickly done and without having to learn a new program.. Eg: illustrator... Also, a lot of people don't want to become designers themselves but still be able to design something quickly in order to get things done! So that is why I run with photoshop and try to help others out in short little video tutorials! Hope this helped :)
Oh that seems reasonable :) thank you
please send me custom shap link
why can't I subtract the path inside when I try to define custom shape? Custom shape is defined only outside shape.
You will have to select the right option from the top menu!
Please Explain More

I do define custom shape, but nothing happens when I do it.

Yes the only layer there is the image
+TRONIX - Photoshop Design Tutorials I added another layer and that fixed it. Thanks for the help! subscribing!
+TRONIX - Photoshop Design Tutorials I added another layer and that fixed it. Thanks for the help! subscribing!
What do you mean by you added another layer? I only have 1 layer and that is the one the image is on, how do i get this thing to work?
You literally don't have to say, "literally" before every sentence. It literally doesn't make you sound smarter if that's what you're going for.. but literally otherwise, thanks for the video
Appreciate your time but it's too fast
Noted!
