Very helpful! We are starting our first round of IUI next week and my favorite tip was "multiple IUIs in the same cycle". It was interesting to hear that it made a significant difference in your patients. My husband and I are super clear on our diagnosis (male factor issue and inconsistent ovulation) and feel confident IUI will work for us!
Simple, direct and concise
Two years ago my husband and I did two IUI's. The first one did not work. The second one did but I ended up miscarrying early on. We were told at 6 weeks that there was no heartbeat and then I miscarried when I would have been 10 weeks.
Great and informational video! Thank you, Dr! Five years ago I found out my right fallopian tube was blocked. After all the testing I magically got pregnant a month later with our miracle daughter. I then thought the clinic I went to was pushing me to go thru IVF under false pretenses. Brushed it off for years until now… five years no bc, and one miscarriage later, went to a new fertility doctor and confirmed again that I still have one blocked tube. It’s been a year since our miscarriage and I’m getting very discouraged of trying naturally. What is the IUI success rate for someone like me? I’m 34, husband’s tests all normal.
You say 5 years no bc, but what else have you tried? Are you tracking ovulation, Taking anything like femera or clomid? J7st curious why they'd suggest if first thing? & why you haven't tried ovulation induction...?
1) Make sure your tubes are open 2) Discuss what medication to use prior to IUI
3)Is your partner ready?
4)One IUI or back to back IUIs in the same cycle ?
5)Give yourself enough time

Thanks for these informations, I’m researching about IUI. We already started the procedure I will be talking the Letrozole for 5 days then March 13 or 14 my first possible IUI. I’m hoping for the best.🙏

Thanks for these tips. Had teo IUIxs. Took Letrozole & trigger shot for both. Second one we added Folostim (sp?) to help w/ follicle size. Both IUI unsuccessful.
I have a friend who waiting until she ovulated naturally, then got an IUI & was successful for both pregnancies.
Have another friend that did 5 IUIs. All w/ Letrozole, except for the last one, which she took Clomid for. What are your thoughts on this, especially for someone that's in thwir late 30s (38).
Also, what's your suggestion for taking Letrozole on days 5-9 vs 3-7?

We wanted to try iui, but doc said, i have too low progesteron, now try to treat naturaly, lets see if it helps. Last point was new for me.
Doing IUI and having low progesterone doesn't mean you can't do IUI. It means that they need to give you progesterone afterward.
Can they extract sperm from my hubby who had a vasectomy so we can do IUI..?

Thank you for this supportive informative video on IUI. I am researching to learn more about it in full details. I am highly considering doing IUI because I’m a supporter of single mother by choice and will be using a donor sperm to get pregnant. Why? Because I don’t have a beloved husband. I never had luck in finding true love with the fairy tale wedding. Plus, I do have delusional celebrity crushes.🤰🏻
Good luck. I'm married & have a great husband & it's still very hard! I used to have the same opinion as you, but There's no way I'd be a single mother by choice knowing what I know now. I thought I knew how hard raising children were, having 23 neices & nephews, bit having your own, 24/7 365 days a year, is very different! Especially in the newborn phase-1 year... & if they have any issues like colic, acid reflux; etc.
We've done five IUIs, no success. Husbands sperm has gotten better after taking supplement you mentioned for men on another video, first sample was low and kept improving. Last sample 18million for the 5th IUI. My tubes are open, uterus had cysts initially that they removed before we atarted with IUIs. I work two jobs, teaching and working with youth in foster care. Husband works overnight as a bus mechanic. We are going through Kaiser right now. Both 38 years old, no kids yet. We are going for a sixth but dont know what can improve it?

Did your doctor give you the success rates of IUI? It’s only 10%. It’s double the chances of just trying natural but 1/10 isn’t amazing. I just hope your clinic is being honest with you and not just taking your money. Maybe it’s time for a second opinion.

my clinic doesn't do 2 iui in one cycle because I think its not covered in insurance .can we have sex instead of that, When should we do ..i mean on which day. before or after insemination ..if we don sex after insemination ,will this affect the washed sperm .could you please reply.
The doctor even advice to have sex after IUI for atleast 2 more days
My husband sperm motility zero and concentration, quality is high ,i already done two iui cycles with donor sperms but it failed iam ready to go third iui cycle with proper medication please tell mee some tips to success my iui in this third attempt
My husband also had zero. I started making a natural herb supplement smoothie for him. He has now more than enough sperm for IUI. We can use his sperm.
I have to use donor sperm and IUI is the only option for me due to husband having childhood cancer. 1st IUI was a failure and am already feeling defeated! Didn’t realize you could do 2 during the same cycle. Very interesting !

If you feel defieted after only 1 try it does sound like your doctor gave you false explanations, as max success rate is 25,% at peak fertility
One successful, tried again, not successful, will do it again.
Hello Doctor, I have done 2 IUI and they failed. I am on the 3rd IUI treatment. Everytime the nurse does one insemenation. Shall I suggest them to do 2 insemenation on a single cycle. I take the FSH injection and when the follicles are big enough then I take the ovitrelle to stimulate ovulation followed by insemenation the next day. I do not know if I ovulate the very next day though after the semen is injected into my uterus.
You normally ovulate 12-24 hours after ovidrel injection. The sperm that’s washed can survive 3-5 days so the timing works ok.
I'd done my 3rd iui on 8th and 9th March.
My problem is endometriosis and adenomyosis.

HSG procedure. I had it today. They insert a catheter and inject dye.

@@EasyLifeGadgets.. No I didn’t think so. It was a tiny pinch for a second and then he told me it was done. Don’t be scared about it if you’re having it. I did hear of it was blocked you may have a little More discomfort but in my case everything was clear. But again, don’t be nervous about it :)
@@EasyLifeGadgets.I did one yesterday and it wasn't too painful. It feels like a pap smear. Just a bit uncomfortable, and I didn't take any painkillers and was fine

So if one has a blocked fallopian tubes IUI will be impossible
You can do it as long as you have one open tube.

When is best to vaginal steam during the IUI process?
I had an unsuccessful IUI last month. We have been trying for 2yrs. We done all the testing and had an HSG. All was fine. My husband had 2 semen analysis. They were fine. Also his hormons were ok. At the day of the IUI his sperm count was on the lower side, 1,3 million after washing. The doctor said the minimum should be 1 mil, so we did have the IUI, but she said next time it should be a higher count. I did use gonal-f and ovitrelle because the doctor suggested this would increase our chances. Back to back iui’s unfortunately weren’t possible at the hospital. I was wondering should there be certain days between having sex and the day of the iui? Also, my husband has a lot of stress and sleeps bad, does this also affect his sperm count? Thanks for the informative video!
You can have sex a day after the IUI. Yes, Stress and poor sleep can impact his sperm count.

The back to back sounds good intuitively. However the cost of the sperm is more expensive than the iui itself, so doing back to back would increase the cost a lot..
I wonder if it increases the chances enough for it to make sense to do that investment.
You didn't mention how much better success rate you got with back to back?
I just did IUI 24 h after the ovulation shot, and am thinking that it would have felt better to do insemination multiple times to increase chances.

We ve done iui on friday 23.2.2024 and we still waititing i have pcos and in the clinic they told me that something is happening and i got ovulation so we still waiting till march 7 to make a pregnancy test

Wow thanks, no matter if you’re 40 or whatever, after reading Dobbie Nerkstrol's guide, I ended up pleasantly surprised. Within 60 days anyone can get pregnant, feeling the changes in your body the first few weeks. After go’ogling her I understood it's not a miracle kind of thing like the title suggests, but you can bet you'll boost your chances.
