Amazing film - love all these - thanks to Mally Melia (Prescot Film Archive Society) and Philip Ferguson Jones. Thanks to you Phil for posting on BRIP ☀☀☀
I grew up there as a child, I lived on Kemble Street...1973-1977...then again 1979-1981 at Greenhall Court, across from the church. I also lived on Coronation Drive. This video is triggering lots of great memories.. Thank you so much for posting this.
What year did the mug faye stop loved going the mug faye with mum she would pick me and my brother up And walk down Eccleston Street and go to mug fayre I remember mum getting dad a blue and white mugit lasted him years Prescot was the greatest place to grow up in I've been in st helens for 46 years
NO, you are wrong I'm afraid - LANCASHIRE IS the historical Palatine that Prescot comes under and has been since 1351. Merseyside and Knowsley are merely administrative districts. You can still say it comes under Merseyside or Knowsley, but ultimately the Palatine of Lancashire is the county that answers to the Crown.

Great video Phil. What is striking is how busy Eccleston street was before the retail park ruined it

I'm not sure when the Mugg Fair ended, I've got a feeling it was not long after the making of this video, I'm guessing early 90s.
@@Prescotian oh thanks
