@@dontreadmyname4396 as far as I know, when milk is pasteurized, it washes out the enzymes that make it easier to digest(as well as a lot of the vitamins and nutrients, I don't remember which exactly), and it makes people think that's they're lactose intolerant, when they're actually pasteurization intolerant(I think I am, I'm getting some Raw milk for the first time next week). Sick. This makes perfect sense. There's a lot of cues in Strong First to activate the proper muscles to help things like that by pulling yourself into the hole on squats, to pulling the bells/bar down into the rack. Generally supported by work like this where you give yourself resistance work on the eccentric phase of the movement to help feel those muscles activate, then use those to retain tension and better work that mind-muscle connection for stronger, safer work. These are the tips the people need. Nuggets of GOLD!
Guys, you can buy a whole roll of shelf liner for less than 10 bucks. You can cut a strip any size necessary and boom, ez back grip. Super transportable can fit in almost any gym bag, literally can be a washcloth sized strip and it will do the trick.
It's probably not the intercostal muscles you're strengthening/activating, rather it's the serratus anterior, which is responsible for retracting your shoulder blades. It's a very common problem in the bench press to be in a bad position due to tight serratus, because everyone has bad shoulder-forward posture nowadays.
@@CanariasCanariass I'm no expert but I have the same problem as well, how I deal with it is: 1. Stretch chest muscles 2. work on the serratus with a massage ball 3. do planks while repeatedly rounding your back/retracting your shoulder blades, eventually transition to doing push-ups like this and 4. make sure if you sit at a desk to do it with neck and shoulders back and chin tucked.
