  • Just saw that a professional Californian seller, with already 14.000 sales, is selling only the power amplifier for $399... What's wrong with these sellers on eBay? Crappy plastic junk for $399? But because it's eBay you can buy it now and pay in 12 monthly installments only $36 a month so 12x$36 =$432 That's a steal🤣🤣🤣 I wonder what the price was if the set was complete....$1200 🤣🤣🤣
The same evening I posted the complete set , including the speakers, on dutch ebay(marktplaats) for 50 euro and the set was sold next day. He bought it for his son from 14. My sister happy because she wanted to give the set to the thrift store for free.
I just can't understand why grown up persons think this is a nice set, I think it's nothing more as children play toy, some even think it's vintage:
I just saw a comment on hifi engine and the guy gave the set 4 out of 5 stars:
    this is what he wrote:

If you can grab one of these that hasn't been abused then you have a very nice bit of vintage kit in your possession.
Mine (since new) is hooked up to a pair Jamo D365s which are also vintage and the clarity of sound and gut wrenching bass is awe inspiring.
Irrespective of sensitivity this amp will move your speaker cones with aplomb and even at higher levels there is no trace of distortion.
The only downside is the amp is hardwired to 9v DC along with AC mains which was fed from the main console (long since dispatched to the hi-fi graveyard) but this was overcome by the use of a mains powered 9v battery charger.
Yes you can't beat the old stuff.
Another funny comment on a German forum:
    16. Jan 2016, 17:47 Hi everyone....I have this Sharp 7700 system upstairs in the room. The part has quite a boom. Still sounds clear and with powerful bass even at high volumes. Looks very nicely lit, especially in the dark. Everything still works after 25 years! No lights off, no controller broken. The remote control works. No speaker was shot... The turntable used in the original in the top drawer sounds surprisingly good, although a simple belt drive. However, I have a Technics 1210 5G with direct drive and preamp on it. Sounds clean and dynamic... What more does the normal listener want? Purchased from Hertie in Berlin in 1989. Not from me, I bought it completely in 2000 for 300 DM. As a trained DJ, I immediately noticed that the stickers were total nonsense. These cheerful pranksters simply presented the total music output in mono (4 ohms). It's like showing the KW x 4 or even better x 5 wheels in a car. Geil, my Astra now has 320 KW! Still not so bad, the whole part. Whether that's high fidelity...well...clean recordings (CD & vinyl, cassette) also sound clean. My SONY SS-G 4 X 4 downstairs in the living room logically sounds like a cathedral on the STR 6800 SD...! No wonder at 10 times the price. 4 boxes of 4 (8) ohms each can be connected. Even then there is still enough power. You shouldn't turn up the full volume anyway, no matter how expensive or (subjectively) good. The matter with the square-wave signals is to be taken seriously. Some people already have a brand new 500 watt sine wave! Bose system with a 15 !!! Watt amplifier shot down... (How can that happen, it was only 15 watts..) Watch out, if professional technicians tell you something, saves a lot of money. The output stage is fully integrated and if it is not resoldered by a professional, it is only functional when the system is connected. The Bass Boost push button on the right middle of the unit works. When using the original parts (boxes, 150 watts sinus at 4 ohms), the bass is about a third higher. The prerequisite is that the equalizer (only sound control!) is strong in the bass range
raised.. Should be done anyway, otherwise the system only brings the boring standard sound. My conclusion: Good system for music lovers with a small budget. It can definitely be people with fully paid single-family homes... Enjoy your hi-fi play equipment and Rock It...LG to all!

I know it’s impossible to tell from a UA-cam video, but the sound wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. It sounded fairly dynamic with quite an open sound stage? I’d imagine somebody who doesn’t know much about hi-fi would be quite happy with their purchase?

i sold the set for 50, I think it will be hard to buy speakers amplifier , cd, tuner for 50 euro but sometimes you can be lucky and score a much better sounding set for that amount

@@vintagestereoYes 50 euro is fine you could have give it away for free but nice to have some money from it, and the woofers are refaomed.

I tested in my house speakers , sometimes costing 200 euro a pair second hand what didn't sound as good as these speakers, so in a way you can say that it's not the worst sound I ever heard, specially in this price class(50 to 100 euro complete) So maybe I was a bit to harsh in my statement, But al those speakers I tested before what sounded worser as these , I also put in the ground. For me bad sound is a bad sound, I don't have qualifications in bad sounding stuff because I hope people listening to me and stay away from everything i disqualify as bad sounding. I don't think it's interesting for my viewers to let them now exactly on what spot and between which other bad speakers these belongs because nobody want to buy the bad stuff. In a way I can also not imagine that some don't have more to spend as 50 euro for a soundset. I believe everybody can invest at least 200/300 euro in a soundtest but hey....there are persons watching my channel who don't have money to buy food in the end of the month. I know there are plenty of these persons. So now I am thinking about that, maybe, in the future, I should judge sound quality for what price it cost also the stuff from 50 euro. For some 50 euro is all what they can spend for sound....For 50 euro this complete set is a good set to buy. Don't think you can find a better complete system for 50 ...here in the Netherlands I scored complete systems for free but that was just luck, also in the thrift stores you can score very cheap

Well it looks good from the front, not everyone is interested in folking out big money for big sound, if it was that cheap it would have broken down.
Please don’t go to someone else’s house and mock their equipment, each to their own, x bass means loud button that delivers more bass.
Out…..Out, leave now and go back to your home…..!😂

I also like how this thing labels the equalizer as a 14 band when it's technically only a 2 channel 7 band.

also most people arent audiofiles and didnt or couldnt spend alot of money on audio gear, thats why most households had cheap audio, just like today people have Bluetooth speakers in their house instead of real audio equipment

@@vintagestereo They state that the Amplifier has 1% distortion.
The inside of the power amplifier is interesting to look at. They do have found a large transformer a small board with a IC amplifier and some filter caps and heatsink.
I want to look at the IC transistors to see the real power output. I have looked it up, it is a STK 4241 module that can do 120 watts on 8 Ohm. This thing can do allright at a party.

I found one of these Sharp 7700 amplifiers in a local pawn shop; I needed 150-250wrms/ch to run a pair of subs for my home theater set. It was not expensive, $35 USD so I grabbed it, not much to lose
My home theater DSP has 24db/active sub/mid crossover and passive or active for mid/tweet. With my mains at neutral gain with 90wrms/ch, I had to back off the Sharp amp channels quite a bit to not overpower the mains an get it balanced.
It is common sense that the complete Sharp system is very cheap but this amp drives these sub woofers like a MaDMaN!!
To truly experience what it is capable of, it needs to hooked up to a great sounding pair of subwoofers, through a good active crossover with gain control. I really had to turn it down a ton.
My home theater is crisp, clean...much louder than I could ever need. I can turn it all the way up without distortion but it is just too loud!! The loudest I will use it with movies or CD music is about 55-60%.
In summary, these Sharp 7700 Digital amplifiers are a hidden gem; when I find one in working condition I BUY THEM! They simply need to be used correctly ..)
